So TASTY....what do you think? Photo by John Shirreffs

Happy Friday Everyone!

As we were walking in our paddock the other day, TASTY and I had a wonderful chat. We both decided that we LOOK pretty terrific for being
several months in foal. Our baby bumps are approximately the same size. Dottie was doing a pretty thorough comparison of each of our tummies when she was here the other day. Since our last breeding date is exactly the same….this is positive news! TASTY and I really have so much in common. It is great to have her as a paddock mate and a very dear friend.

The November Sale at Keeneland is progressing in a very solid manner with strong prices. On a personal note, I have been following the sales of BERNIE’S weanlings. His babies have been very popular and sold very well. It is great to see this! Additionally, DARLEY recently announced their stud fees for the upcoming 2012 Breeding Season, and BERNIE’S is going to double from $75,000 to $150,000 stand and nurse. So far this year, BERNIE’s progeny has earned over $5,000,000 in purses. This makes him the leader in the second-crop sires’ list for 2011. I’m so proud of you, BERNIE!

Hollywood Park opened yesterday for their fall season. The TURF FESTIVAL, which takes place during Thanksgiving Weekend, will be one of the highlights of their meet. Additionally, several two year old stakes including the CASH CALL FUTURITY-Grade 1 and the HOLLYWOOD STARLET-G1 will also make this meet special. These races provide us with the opportunity to become familiar with some of the promising young horses, 2 year olds–turning 3 on January 1st, currently developing on the West Coast.

At Churchill, there is discussion that Drosselmeyer may run around Thanksgiving in the Grade 1 CLARK HANDICAP as well as next year. The
original plan to ‘retire him to stud in New York’ looks to be ‘on hold’ for awhile. I love to see horses who run at the top levels continue to compete. It all adds to the excitement of a sport we all love!

In New York, the CIGAR MILE at Aqueduct is one of their premiere races in November. They, too, have a very good Thanksgiving of racing planned with stakes for 2 year olds as well as the GO FOR WAND and the GAZELLE.

On top of all this, the FAIRGROUNDS opens in Louisiana for their meet also around Thanksgiving and it runs until my birthday, April 1st.

So many races to ponder, and so many fun handicapping experiences for us all to enjoy!

Have a wonderful weekend…and here’s wishing you a terrific NOVEMBER!

With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

PS…MY NEW SHOP is just opening on my web-site! ENJOY!

  1. How regal you both look.

  2. I know that if I ever watch Zenyatta’s last race without a tear forming in my eye or the hope that she might catch Blame and win the race of her life – or watch any of her races and not get chills or a huge smile on my face – that the love affair I have shared with Zenyatta will be over…. I know that will never happen in my lifetime!!!

    To my Sweet Zenny – that Your John loves so much… You will always have my heart and sole. My dreams of you will always be in my mind and the excitement you have brought to life will always burn bright in heart… I can’t wait to see you again someday soon…. Until then I will continue to wait for the birth of your foal and imagine just how cute that sight will be.

    With All My Love – Hugs and Sweet Kisses

  3. I think u both look Great! Peace & Happiness to u both!

  6. I’ve already visited YOUR SHOP. I purchased a print of your life sized painting. Can’t wait to get it. I also hope there will soon be other items offered as well. I’m looking for a Zenyatta street sign and any Z jewelry. I’m looking forward to the Hollywood race meet. It’s all very exciting.

  7. Another lovely photo of you and your beautiful home. Thanks for the news on Drosselmyer.
    Zenyatta, you should consider having Pamela Parker paint a portrait of you. She is really good.

  8. Zen, you look absolutely STUNNING, and Tasty is TOO CUTE!

    I was really impressed with your baby sis in the sales ring….she’s adorable! I can’t wait to hear what her name will be!

    Have you been thinking of names for your little one?

  9. @Zenny and Tasty: Ahhhhhh. Finally that head-on shot that shows your wonderful “blossoming”! Beautiful photo.
    @Repeating from last post: My heartfelt thanks to all men and women who have served or are serving to protect our RED WHITE and BLUE. Especially Semper Fi to YOUR MARINE JOHN, and my brother Bud who served in Korea, and to my late Dad who was at Pearl Harbor and became a life-long employee of the U.S.Navy.

  15. Hi Zenny: You and Tasty do look terrific. And I must add the backdrop of today’s photo is awesome, too. How pretty! I am happy you both are getting along. It is important to have good and trusting friends. Now, you know Your John and Dottie are concerned about you. Your John checks your legs and Dottie checks your tummy. Too Cute!!!

  16. You both look magnificent!!! But all my sympathy goes to the family of the mighty Hickstead… :(

  17. Adorable Trina
    We dumplings could use one of your beautiful poems for Reckless and all human veterans on this day….how proud we are of each and every one – thank you for your service (and your dear John too!) Trina you are my hero for all your heartfelt poems on special days, thank you! How many times have I wished I could pen one of those!

  18. Beautiful Beautiful. Love ya1

  19. Both look fantastic! I’m sure you’ll come up with names or perhaps a contest to name the foal?? I have a suggestion…. Zensolutly Berniful!

  20. Such a beautiful picture of you both! And, the paddock is gorgeous – enjoy that beautiful weather before the snow arrives!
    Bernie’s babies are doing great ~ I have been following them, especially Stay Thirsty!
    Have a wonderful weekend – going now to check out your shop…

  21. you both look so beautiful!Positively glowing!

  22. Are there plans to try you with a new guy after Bernie’s baby is born? To see which is the best cross? Good thing you and Bernie “got together” before his price soared! Not that the Mosses couldn’t afford the higher fee.

  23. Team Z, beautiful picture of the girls. Thank you so much for keeping us updated. Z is really showing her baby bump. Looks like Z and T are enjoying themselves. Have a fantastic weekend.

  24. Dear Z and Z Fans:
    Z, you and TT look absolutely stunningly beautiful. Love your Baby Bumps. Your team chose so well when they picked Bernie for you (he is my favorite after you Z). Russ sends his love to all of you. Love and hugs, JB

  25. Kentucky bluegrass. Zen, you and Tasty look so amazing in this photo. What an expanse of green grasses behind you. Vast areas to gallop and frolic in …. I was wondering, how is it to gallop with baby in belly?

  26. You look beautiful as always and so does your friend Tasty. John took a good angle for us to see that baby bump. It’s snowing here in Central NY up in the hills where we live. The snow won’t stay but it looks very pretty just looking out the window. Keep warm and safe and enjoy the week-end.
    The Zenyatta Shop is cool. I ordered the print as soon as I saw that it was active.
    More thanks to Dottie and the team.

  27. Z and T = BFF forever!

  28. Zenyatta, you and Tasty look simply fabulous. Love your baby bump. And what a beautiful paddock you and Tasty have to romp in. So excited to hear about Drosselmeyer. Hope YOUR MIKIE will be riding him! Cathleen XOXOX

  29. Love those baby bumps. You look absolutely stunning. Have a great weekend Zen!

  30. Zennie – you and TT look fabulous. I can see those babies growing. John took a beautiful shot of Lane’s End. I wish I could see that farm some day. Heaven!

  31. With Honor and so much Gratitude to all men and women who have or are now serving to protect our Great Nation.

  32. WHAT A LOVELY PHOTO. THE PASTURES AND BUILDINGS ARE SO NICE. ZENNIE YOU ARE LOOKING GREAT. I THINK YOU LOOK A BIT MORE ROUNDED OUT. LOVE THE DAPPLES TOO. HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD AND SAFE DAY. TO ALL WHO ARE VETERANS A BIG THANK YOU. GOD BLESS THE USA. SHERRY D.

  33. Every day I see a post from Zenyatta makes my day!!! All is right with the world if all is right with Zenyatta!!! I love this photo…such beautiful horses. So Tasty is so pretty!! It’s wonderful you have such a close friend!! You and Tasty have to be THE most stunning at Land’s End!!!

  34. What a beautiful picture the two of you make! Thanks John for the photo and thank you Dottie for the words!

    I have a a funny story to tell. We have a new employee in our office and she saw my office for the first time and said “I see you love Elvis and horses!” I said, “I sure do!” She then saw one of my MANY framed pictures of Zenyatta and asked me if that was MY horse”. I said, “I wish but then again she is kinda my horse because I love her so much, but she belongs to everybody”.
    Love you always Zenyatta!

  35. Zenny, what could be better than two good girlfriends just hanging out in the beautiful bluegrass of Ky? Nothing. You both look amazing…I’m just so happy you are enjoying a great, relaxing life.

  36. Tsk, little chums are pregnant together. How sweet! They both look fabulous.

    Be well beautiful girls! Dottie too!!

  37. Dear Zenny, I must say you and Tasty are looking FAB! Being in foal certainly does agree with you both – and what fun to share with a close lady friend :) I’d like to bring to everyone’s attention, if you have not seen it yet, the wonderful work that Michael Blowen/Old Friends is doing: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1989951028/old-friends As we enter into the season of giving, I believe this is such a worthwhile cause. Please do what you can to help make this a wonderful success! 18 days left to go; I am confident we Z Lovers can help pull this off!! With Love, Linda & George

  38. You two are TOO CUTE! Z., you look as if you monentarily stopped to pose for the camera and you’re thinking, “As I was going to say before the cameras came up…” Are you two cooking something up?
    It’s great to see you both against such lovely backdrop.Kisses on the nose to you both.

  39. Zenyatta! You and Tasty look STUNNING!!! I am so excited to hear that Bernie’s stud fee is jumping to $150,000!! I have to say, Zenny, now don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re baby bump is bigger than any of the other broodmares I have seen this year. You are going to have an amazing foal no matter what :)
    Love, Katie(future jockey)

  40. You and Tasty look beautiful!! The setting is so serene – you are in a beautiful place.
    I so look forward to your posts – they truly make my day – love you – Queen Z!!!!

  41. Dear Z and John, I want to take note of today; Veteran’s Day. Such a special time to thank you for your service and love of our country! John, a special heartfelt THANK YOU from George (Retired USMC) and I (Just a lover of all that ensure our freedom and well being). Sempre Fi along with a HIGH HOOF for all you do; both then and now. Love, Linda and GEorge

  42. Happy 11/11/11 Zenyatta! You and Tasty look so pretty together with your beautiful surroundings as a backdrop. I’m glad to hear that your tummies were thoroughly inspected by Dottie and all is well. I can’t wait to get my poster that I ordered yesterday…

  43. Zenny- you and TT look spectacular! You are both just glowing with health! I hope you two and your foals can still be together next spring. I’m so glad you have a BFF! Hope you have a fabulous weekend, Z. Love you <3

  44. I loved horse racing from a very early age. I lost interested for a number of years and my love of horse racing was ignited by a filly named Zenyatta. The first race I ever saw her run was the Breeder’s Cup Ladies Classic in 2008. After that race I could not get enough of watching Z. Mike Smith has always been one of my favorite jockeys and the combination of horse and jockey was meant to be. I had Zenyatta parties with my family whenever she was running after that race and I believe Z is the greatest horse I have ever seen in my lifetime – including the great Secretariat. I am 54 years old so I have seen a lot of great horses and triple crown winners. Zenyatta was as close to a human being as to any horse I have ever watched – the only other horse ever close to being as human was Seattle Slew – the only horse in the history of racing to win the triple ccrown as an undefeated horse. Z’s loss in her last race made more believer’s out of a lot of detractors – especially people with an east coast bias for horses.

  45. A shout-out to all the veterans out there, including our John and my three brothers-in-law who were in Viet Nam (a fourth lost his life there). Thank you.

  46. What a beautiful momma you make Zenyatta! I can’t wait for the BIG DAY!

  47. Oh, my Queen Z! What fabulous news about your “husband”! I can only imagine how SPECIAL that little foal of yours will be. As for your friend, Tasty, I can only say that sharing your experiences with each other will turn into a lifelong affection for each other. Zenyatta, I LOVE you and somehow, someday I need to see you again. Blessings to you and Tasty.

  48. you too look great together, and Zen I can tell your baby was sittingon the left side facing, myscreen so cute, hahaha, I think he or she was, or it was the way you were standing, but you guys, do look great, keep up that good healthy, stuff, and i enjoyed the races, over the weekend but all I could think of was your party going on, anyway. Happy Veterans day, and I think of that War horse, now too, you see horses are needed, for fun, and work, so , have a great day, Zen, and glad all are going well, with the babys.Im hoping one of my relatives will give me a zen shirt, lol, keep hinting, right??

  49. too cute! love you girl

  50. What a beautiful view you have from your pasture! You sure live in a nice place, Zen.

  51. Wow! Not too shabby of a place to retire.

  52. @John Saksa: It’s interesting that you mention Seattle Slew along with Zenyatta because in a recent video clip of Steve Haskin and The Mig (I don’t know his actual name!), they were discussing the positive energy that seems to affect people when they are around Zenyatta (including them) and they said that the only other horse that they could think of who had that effect was Seattle Slew! Of course, they haven’t met our horse Choctaw, but I’ll give them a pass. :)

  53. Queen Z are we going to be able to purchase the stuffed animal toys? I know a little girl who would go crazy!!

  54. RE: Bernardini’s increased stud fee: “If he’s good enough for Zenyatta, isn’t he good enough for YOUR horse?”

  55. Dear Queen Zen,
    Happy 11/11/11! I think you look fabulous and regal as always. Thank you so much for allowing me to paint you! –you are the perfect model and muse. And you have such wonderful people, too–everyone on Team Z is kind, gracious and awesome just like YOU!
    Enjoy these lovely fall days, beautiful lady : )
    -Jaime.

  56. Warm wishes to all my Z friends <3
    Kari B: You are in my thoughts and prayers <3
    Judy B: MISS you- appreciate you checking in with us, though!
    Terry C: Miss YOU, too! I'm having to actually BE a redneck and laugh at myself :)
    @LouAnn Cingel, Sharon in Seattle, Marty R and other Z'sters with health concerns: Hope things are looking up for you all <3
    Have a great weekend, everyone!
    Team Z: THANK YOU, ALL!

  57. Dear Zenny, What an absolutely beautiful picture, did John ask the two of you pose?? You and Tasty frame the building behind you so perfectly and we can see those expanding tummies. You both look so contented and relaxed, it’s wonderful to see how well cared for you are.
    @ Diana – A time of remembering and being thankful, and you still have your brother. My Dad was a tail gunner in the Royal Air Force and I’ve always known how lucky I was to have him, not many tail gunners survived. I still have his log book listing all the bombing missions he flew over Germany and I shared his experiences with a grade 5 class yesterday. The kids were so interested and asked lots of questions, I enjoyed talking to them even tho one young man did think I was “pretty old”.
    @ Judy B – Hope Russ is doing well, I bet he misses Terry’s jokes, I know I do. Love back to both of you.

  58. TWO BEAUTIFUL MARES WITH TWO BEAUTIFUL BABY
    BUMPS! :) ANOTHER FINE POST ZENNY AND DOTTIE
    AND ANOTHER FINE PHOTO BY YOUR JOHN! :)
    I WILL BE AT HOLLYWOOD PARK THE FRIDAY AND
    SATURDAY OVER THANKSGIVING WEEKEND. CAN’T
    WAIT! I LOVE HOLLYWOOD PARK AND WISH THEY
    WOULD BRING THE BREEDERS CUP BACK THERE ONE DAY. IT IS THE TRACK THAT HELD THE FIRST BREEDERS CUP RACES. IT HAS SO MUCH
    AWESOME HORSE HISTORY THERE AND DOES NOT
    GET THE RECOGNITION THAT IT SHOULD. IF IT
    WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU ZENYATTA, IT IS
    GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME! ;)
    PEACE, LOVE & BLESSINGS TO ALL IN THE LAND OF ZEN,
    KATHY from SoCal xoxo
    p.s. THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT LINKS THAT
    YOU ALL HAVE BEEN POSTING! :)

  59. Jaime Corum-
    Thank you for the beautiful work that you do. I can’t wait to get my print. It’s going to hang above my Zenyatta bronze.^-^

  60. Hey Big Mama Z! I knew when I saw the shop I would do some damage. I can’t wait to receive my goods! Hope all of Team Z has a great weekend!

  61. @Susan in TN, The Mig = Richard Migliore, a former jockey. He was highly successful. He is an Eclipse Award winer and George Woolf Memorial Award winner.

  62. Wow… you and Tasty look so beautiful…both of you have those wonderful ears….looking all around ….so happy…so inquisitive. Enjoy your alone time….because you will have a little one who will be right up under your feet. :)

  68. Zenyatta,
    Even though the poster is beautiful, I prefer your actual photos.
    I love the photo, I have of you, dancing your way to the 2009 BC Classic gate. What a race that was!
    Hugs and Prayers

    ps to consider for next year’s shop; Long sleeve Zenyatta tee shirts??

  70. Dear Zenny,
    So love this photo of you and TT. She is getting to be quite the photo girl, too.
    Love that YOUR GUY Bernie has been so popular and sucessful. He is worth every penny of the double in price. Thanks for the summary of all the races for the fall.
    Sure hope Drosselmeyer stays in training.
    Loved the HRTV Inside Information with your team and Giacamo at the KY derby and
    the exercise rider YOUR JOHN mentored.
    Dottie was so very touching in the story at the KY Derby in 2005. Have a great day eating for two in the KY blue grass.
    XXXXOOOO

  71. You both look so content and happy. Wish I could go there right now and give both of you a huge hug. Love and kisses, Marilu

  72. @Sue Fredrick
    Love the post from #376 about LE visiting the stallion and your story of AP Indy and his sweetness. Is he part of the show or does everyone get to see him. He is so very special. Keep us posted on the family that has one of his last fillies.

  73. @Susan in TN
    Loved that video of Richard Migliori and Zenny before the BC. How wonderful to get in a car and just drive up to see the QUEEN. She just kept on grazing when he was petting her. He is a great commentator for the East Coast on HRTV.
    Also a top shelf jockey. He and Gary Stevens were standing by each other during the BC and he is bigger by a few inches. TOO CUTE.

  74. What a beautiful picture. You both look amazing.

  75. Zenyatta you and Tasty just look beaftiful.
    @All Veterans I think today ia a day for Thank You’s and I Thank You with all my heart and my Dad United States Army World War 2, who passed away 6-2-2002 at 82, Love You Daddy and miss you every day.

  80. Wonderful recap of Breeders’ Cup weekend…watch for short clip of Zenny’s party and John’s comments. Yeah, Z TP TOO CUTE!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw9ZRABfMts&feature=player_embedded

  81. Hi all, love the photo, you both look so happy and relaxed. Had a look at the SHOP and would love to purchase a couple of things, anyone know if it is possible to get them shipped over to England? x

  82. One should thank all the horses who served many of whom died and many more slaughtered for meat after their heroic efforts went unrewarded by ungrateful humans. Reading statistical summary for Bernardini shows his stud fee was already higher than his average earnings per runner and an AEI lower than his CI indicates the mares he bred did better with other stallions. Just click on “Statistical Summary” on his stallion register page. His median earnings look even worse. War Front’s median earnings are more than twice as high and his AEI is higher than his CI. His people got greedy too. They quadrupled his stud fee so it is higher than his average earnings per runner. Shame on people.

  83. Zenny you look great as usual, your baby bump is so darn cute, can’t wait to see Minnie Z.

  84. You look so beautiful Zenny! I am glad you have Tasty to keep you company and play with you. Keep grazing and stay healthy. I can’t wait to see your little one. I love you!!! oxxooxxo

  85. WOW!!! Two Beauties!!! Thank You so much for this lovely picture!

  86. Dear Zenyatta. How wonderful having such a good friend to spend time with, Zenny. You and Tasty look so very lovely in John’s photo. I watched a couple of sessions of the Keenland sale and it was amazing. I have not seen so many seven digit figures for quite some time. To have two different breeding operations liquidating their horses this month has been sad to see, but it has provided opportunity to others in making some outstanding purchases. Yea, Bernie!!! Congrats to Darley and all of Bernie’s connections on his marvelous success! So good to hear about Drosselmeyer also. I agree with you, Zenny, it is great for the sport and fans when some of the name horses are able to keep racing! Looks like there will be plenty of opportunity at tracks around the country. You and TT have a wonderful weekend too, beautiful. Keep those sweet dreams in your head. Love you! Hugs and kisses. XXXOOO

    PS – I purchased the special collectors print of “The Queen’s Dance”, I am so excited. Congratulations to you and Team Z on the opening of your marvelous shop. I will be a loyal customer, I assure you!!And since I was on the phone with the Kentucky Derby Museum Shop on Saturday, I could not resist getting the Zenyatta ornament and Barbaro book by Alex Brown. I received them today and they are terrific. So fun!!

  87. Diana S.
    GF, I bet you this Z plump-rump dumpling gets there first to ride the Zenny horsey! OK, maybe if I drop 10 pounds…er, 20? no? er, not good enough? 30 pounds?..OK, OK how bout 50 pounds?!!! Geez! You drive a hard bargain Miz evil-twin dumpling you!

  88. Two beautiful moms-to-be.

  89. What a beautiful picture.

  90. Hi Zen what a cute picture of a couple of HOT MAMMAS!! You two look absolutely amazing in that beautiful setting. Have to take the time to say Happy Veterans Day to John and all our wonderful vets who have and continue to give so much to our country. I hope those who have never served appreciate them.
    @Karen Gogue thank you for posting the video of the BC highlights, I was surprised to find myself in the Zee party coverage. Too Funny! I told the reporter who was remarking there was everything Zen there, M&Ms what next. I told him there was Zen T-paper in the bathroom,Ha,Ha. He came back with a good comment. What fun.
    @Sign of the Times yes everyone there got to see Indy, his groom brought him out 3 or 4 times, lots of pics taken, I just wanted a special picture so I tipped him on the side.
    @PeggyN if your a Reckless fan like I’ve become you can join her facebook club and they send updates as they are collecting for a new statue at the base.
    @Judy and Russ Berube so glad to hear from you and pray things are getting better. And yes I’m a big Bernie fan too.
    @Jaime Corum so nice of you to post, I have dropped hints for Christmas for a copy of your masterpiece. Hope Santa hears.
    Luv you Z kisses on your nose

  91. @To All Service Men and Women, Past and Present – I want to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the service you have given our great country. Both my father and grandfather served in WWII and both of my brothers served in the Vietnam War, as did our very special John Shirreffs. There is a dear old gentleman I know who recently got to be a part of the Honor Flight Network. This is a group that transports our heros to Washington DC to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to senior veterans, World War II survivors, along with other veterans who may be terminally ill. Over one thousand WWII veterans die each day,time is running out to express our thanks to these brave men and women. They and one support person are flown at no charge and taken on a tour. In this case my friend took his son. When they fly back to our local airport they are meant by a band and cheering crowd. At his return, he came in to see me. He told me how it felt for him to stand with his son in the shadow of the WWII memorial to see how very beautiful it was and to remember experiences from yesteryear as if they were yesterday. As he continued to talk and hand me pictures taken there the tears started to fall from his eyes down those worn cheeks. He brushed them away with a shaky hand and with a break in his voice tried to express how honored he was by such a gift. Through my own tears, I assured him it was our honor as a country to recognize his service and it was my honor to know him and have him share such a special memory with me. Our soldiers and their families sacrifice a great deal and they deserve our never ending appreciation and support.

  92. Both of you look so pretty with your baby bump; I cannot wait to see your babies. Ingrid.

  93. @Karen Gogue: Thanks for posting the link to the Breeder’s Cup weekend. That was great.

  94. On this Veteran’s Day, I am honoring my father, a veteran, and great man, who passed away January 17, 2011.

  95. LOVE the picture of Zenny with her good friend. They look like two happy campers. I have just ordered the print, with the signatures, of Zenny done by Jaime Corum. Can’t wait to get it and frame it and then hang it in a place of honor. It is jaw dropping beautiful.

  96. SO beautiful…2 lovely mommas-to-be…can’t wait for the babies to hit the ground!

  97. @Bookmark #6 – I haven’t posted a book recommendation for a while, so here goes. I just finished a book about a horse whose name is often mentioned with the likes of Man O’ War and Secretariat. That name is Citation. The book is “Citation: In a Class by Himself. The author is Phil Georgeff. Citation lived from 1945 until 1970 and retired in mid-1951. At that point and up until then he was the only millionaire racehorse. In just four years, his record was 45 starts, 32 wins, 10 seconds, 2 thirds, once unplaced and a world record shattering bankroll of $1,085,760. Thousands packed the grandstands to see him run. Big Cy just missed out reaching fans with the birth of television. The first Kentucky Derby was not telecast until 1952. Following his 1948 triumphs in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes it would be 25 years before another horse (Secretariat) would again wear the coveted Triple Crown. Citation was part of the legendary Calumet Farm and he was ridden by the remarkable Eddie Arcaro. When he came onto the racetrack, he liked to prance with his neck arched and head bowed (remind you of anyone). There are really two parts to his career, before and after injury, it is all told in this tribute to the mighty Citation!

  98. Oh my gosh – my very, very favorite picture of all time of you and your best friend. So incredibly sweet – thank you for sharing!!!

  99. Looking good Zenny!

  100. Sue Fredrick
    How Too Cute was that!? :)

  101. Dear Zenyatta,
    I am soooo excited for your baby to be due! My Mother and I always talk about how beautiful you are,and what would the baby look like. I bet your foal is GORGEOUS because also,Its(he/she) father is absolutley flawless like you Queen Z!

    Keep up posted,and I hope someday we can get a specific date on when the baby is born!

  102. Thanks for the beautiful pic of 2 great friends. They could not have posed more perfectly for John’s photo. Thanks also to your John for his service and a salute to all veterans on Veterans’ Day. To Susan in TN, it’s good to see that Richard Migliore has made a fine transition to broadcasting on HRTV. He does look tall next to Gary. As for Z’s shop, I can’t wait for my Zenyatta poster to join her bronze and all our other pics of The Queen!

  103. Happy Vetrans Day to all that have served and that are serving to keep our Country Free! Semper Fi, John and My Father and Father in -law!Also a shout out to my Step dad who was a Lt.Conel in the Air Force!
    Zenny, don’t take this the wrong way but, you’re baby bump is a bit bigger than Tasty’s maybe because, you’re such a big girl anyways?
    I love the shop. I’ve been wanting a Jersey for awhile but, you don’t have it in your shop. However, my b-day is next Saturday the 19th and I gave my b-day wish list to my Partner. Jersey, zip coat, Hat and Print. Is that asking too much? LOL. We’ll see how that goes.
    Have a wonderful weekend big Mamma! Pst… Bernie sure is proving himself as the Stud Muffin he is, isn’t he?! Same fee as you’re Daddy, Street Cry! Amazing!

  104. @All – is Shari Voltz (spelling?) the teacher who posts about her classroom that loves Zenyatta?

  105. @Dawn Conrad — Thank you for the book recommendation — Citation is usually listed as one of the Top Ten horses of the last 100 years.

  106. Absolutely beautiful photo of Zenyatta and Tasty Temptation. Bit then YOUR JOHN is a talented photographer/videographer.

    ****** ****** ****** ******

    I would love to know more about the behaviors Tasty exhibits that caused Steve Haskin to state that she is very protective of Zenyatta.

  107. I cannot get over how beautiful Lane’s End is! It makes me smile to think that you ended up exactly where you should have – in a home fit for a Queen! You look so happy and so healthy that it does my heart good every time I see you. You are loved so much, and continue to inspire so many. I love you Zenyatta and thank God for you.

  108. I ordered the Limited Edition print of “The Queen’s Dance” — for my husband, of course.

  109. What beautiful moms-to-be the two of you are. Your friendship is really special. I visited your online shop this morning and spent a lot on Z things, including a copy of your fantastic poster. You have truly enriched so many lives. Never thought I’d become so attached to a race horse, but you stole my heart from the moment I first learned of you. God bless you, dear Zenyatta.

  110. Oh my Zenyatta and Tasty too! You little mothers look soooo terrific and your bumps are so very noticable!!!! Wow! It won’t be long now and there are so many of us waiting PATIENTLY! I love you Zenyatta and Tasty too….Take care, eat up and especially…..get some rest girls!

  111. @Jamie Corum – How wonderful to see you post. Welcome to Zenyatta’s wonderful diary! There are no words to express how truly magnificent your masterpiece “The Queen’s Dance” is. Let me simply say breathtaking!! The love that you put into this work is obvious. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
    @Linda M – Thank you very much for the link to the information about Old Friends and a movie plans. I adore Michael and everyone at Old Friends for all that they do on behalf of these great champions and wonderful racehorses. I am a regular supporter and blog reader. They are one of my most favorite places to spend time at when I am in Kentucky. The best!!!!
    @Shari – Hi, girlfriend. So glad to hear that you purchased one of Zenyatta’s tote bags from her new shop. That will work wonderful to carry all of your teaching supplies and is oh so fitting for you!!!!! Hope you have a great weekend. Try to get a little rest from your crazy schedule. Love ya!
    @Susan in TN – Loved your marketing slogan for Bernie!!! Hope Choctaw, Chester and Chopper are all doing fantastic as well as all the others you care for. Are Rusty and Pepsi hanging out together? I don’t like to think of Rusty missing Rootbeer. Speaking of which, have you heard how our boy is doing? Give the sweeties kisses from me and have a fun weekend.
    @Kathy Baldwin – I agree. Hollywood Park has some absolutely amazing history and is quite beautiful!! What a tragedy if it were to have to close down.
    @Sue Frederick – How great that you got to spend time at the Lane’s End open house. It is such a beautiful place and isn’t AP just the sweetest. He is the stallion that we spent the most time with the last time I was there and he was so patient with everyone wanting to pet him and get their picture taken. And you got your picture taken too. It was so great to see you in the video of Zenny’s party. Too cute!
    @Peggy (N) – Hi, sis. Hope you have been able to catch some of the Keenland sale. Talk about WOW! Hope everything is great with you, lovely lady!
    @Karen Gogue – Hello, gorgeous. Are you trying to make jockey weight for that ride on Zenny or win the race to the carousel? It sounds like stewards may be necessary. You go girl!! Thank you for posting the link to the party video, it was great. What do say, you/me together, Santa Anita 2012!! Hope they do it again, can’t wait!! Love to you, Cynthia and our beautiful Kari. Bless you all.

  112. @ Dawn Conrad – you are welcome! And always glad to meet another Old Friends supporter. Please do help spread the word on this. I let Michael know I was taking this to our Sweet Zenny’s Diary and he is very greatful for anything we all can do to raise the awareness of this great work of art in process. thanks to all for any support: here is the link again for those joining us later in the day: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1989951028/old-friends

  113. @The Kennedys – Hope you enjoy the book on Citation. I get goosebumps watching him run in the link I shared. His accomplishments were amazing. He actually ran in a race between the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes. Then at another time he ran in two major stakes races within three days. Unheard of! He did it all with grit and a whole lot of heart!

  114. Rosemary McCauley – Yes, Shari Voltz is our wonderful teacher in Ohio who loves Zenyatta. This year the children not only have Zenyatta in their classroom, but also a horse named Mistletoe that is part of the great Peppermint Pal effort by Ice Racing Stables.

  115. @Dawn Conrad: If you and Abigail manage to make it to BC 2012 at Santa Anita, I promise to treat you to the best cup of tea this side of Stratford-upon-Avon. Even though I work at the track, I have already given warning that I will be attending next year’s events as a fan, not as an employee! And thank you so much for recallng the greatness of the mighty Citation, who won the Belmont and the Triple Crown on my 1st birthday. Twenty-five years later, as fate would have it, I was in the stands at Belmont, transcendant with joy, as the immortal Secretariat crossed the finish line trailing dusty clouds of glory.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    To all of those who endured unimagineable hardship in service to our country, including Dottie and Zenyatta’s adorable John, THANK YOU.
  116. @ Dawn C – AP certainly gets lots of attention and he enjoys it. I hope the photo of you with him turned out well, I have a nasty habit of cutting feet or heads off. Thank you for your encouraging words about Vic, she does have a magnificent passion (sounds like a title for a movie) for all horses but particularly for the thoroughbred. Enjoy your new purchase from Zenny’s boutique, it will look fabulous with number 19. I have “mentioned” Zenny’s shop to Susan, it’s that time of year and Vic also has a birthday in December. Give my regards to Mom, hope she is well.
    @ Karen G – Loved the video, thank you. I can’t begin to imagine what you and Diana S are up to but please have a safe race without inquiries, I’m hoping to meet you both at SA in 2012.
    @ The Kennedys – I’ve missed something along the way – was there a link to whatever Steve Haskin said about Tasty being protective of Zenny? I am very fond of Tasty and wish I had seen her race, would still like to know if she’s as big as Zenny.
  117. You girls look ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!
  118. Hi, beautiful Zenny! I have missed your diary posts so much. Great to see you and Tasty! Love and kisses on your soft nose!
    My computer is still out of whack — after
    Tuesday, I will have a different Internet server so I can be in communication again.
    I do miss everyone’s posts and have alot to catch up on.
    @Kari Bussell: Very Best Wishes, thoughts AND prayers to you, Dear Girl. All of us are pulling for you!
  119. @ Veterans Day: Many heartfelt thanks to all who served and continue to serve in our Armed Forces. My uncle, father and great-uncle were in World War II.
  120. @Sue Fredrick
    How wonderful to see Indy. Can you post your pictures
    anywhere would love to see them. Hope I can get there
    Next year.
  121. WOW!!!
    Exquisite horses.
    Spectacular surroundings.
  122. To all Canadian Dumplings and Z fans
    How really wondeful of Eric Lamaze to compete
    At the end of the week for his home country the week
    His beloved Hickstead passed. He looks so great and in
    Focus on Herald 3, but I am sure aching fir his dear
    Friend. Really look forward to the Equestrian Olympica 2012
    To see all the great and talented Grand Prix riders
    And their horses.
  123. Dear Zenny,
    Just got my Spend a day with Zenyatta from Bloodhorse.
    I love it all of your days at Barn 55. Thanks to
    Bloodhorse for publishing it for free.
    XXXOOO
  124. thanks Zenny….you have a gorgeous home and you look gorgeous with you baby bump!
  125. @Brenda S — Regarding TT being protective of Zenyatta, go to Steve Haskins’ Facebook page. Under “photos”,go to the “Zenyatta and Rachel” photos and look for the photo of Z outside TT’s stall. It is in the caption under that photo.
    ***** ****** ***** *****
    @Cynthia — You have led a charmed life with those connections to Secretariat and Citation.
  126. To All the Men and Women who serve our country.
    You are all very special. I so enjoy my weekends
    Working to keep you health for deployment. It has been
    Very special to get to know you in all branches.
    My father also served in the Army during WW II and so very much
    Enjoyed visiting all of the memorials in DC.
  127. @Sue Fredrick, Thank You for telling me about The Reckless Facebook Page and I will have to make a donation for her statue. I have not joined facebook yet. I may have too. Isn’t that video of her just a tear jerker. Oh my.
    @Dawn Conrad, my Sis. Thank you for the link to Citation. I tell you today has been a day for tears. I will have to read the book, I did get to watch some of the sales today. Just such beautiful horses. This week has just been so great with so much going on..
    I turned on today to TVG hoping to see something from Hollywood Park. Didn’t, you think maybe tonight. I have to check back, I got diverted a little and stopped at the Food Network and there Paula Deen was making Homemade Banana Pudding, OMG, yeah I know I just had to share that it looked so good. You know, I just have to share the temptation with you guys too. Thanksgiving is coming and looking forward to it.
    Have a nice evening everyone.
    Love Ya Zenny
  128. You look beautiful Zenny! Tasty does too! I love you Zenyatta thanks for posting all these diaries! You truely are one special horse!!! :D
  129. I thought I heard Todd Shrupp say something about seeing you tonight on TVG, I was not in the room at the time, but vaguely heard something just wondering if there is going to be any night races from Hollywood Park. I might have heard wrong it is pretty late now.
  130. What a beautiful photo of two very beautiful horses.
  131. @*Noor fans and Old Friends supporters, the hat created in honor of Noor and auctioned on eBay raised $560 for Old Friends.
    -
    @Dawn Conrad, my mom (Navy) and Dad (Army and Air Force)went on an Honor Flight this past year. They enjoyed it.
    -
    @thehorses, I am sure everyone here honors and esteems the horses, mules, donkeys, and dogs who have served or are serving in the military and law enforcement. As for Bernie’s stud fee, obviously they think they can fill his book at $150K. If they can’t, they’ll reduce it next year. If it’s too high for you or you don’t think he’s a good value, then send your mares somewhere else. Sheesh.
  132. Such a magnificant creature. <3
  133. Good evening Zenyatta,
    I know what Tasty’s answer is :)
    “We are a couple of lucky horses!”
    What a couple of good looking mares in your beautiful surroundings.
    Hope everybody makes it home okay.
    Sleep tight & dream sweet
  134. What a beautiful photo – thanks so much for sharing! You and Tasty both look well – how wonderful for both of you to have a good friend to share all the excitement of your first pregnancies. Many thanks again to Dottie for her help with your diary posts, after all it’s hard to work a keyboard with hooves ;-)
  135. Zenny, you two look beautiful. You know, you still have a firm hold on Mike Smith’s heart. He was happy to win the Breeders’ Cup, but you could see YOU in his eyes. He could not stop thinking about you. That is love.
    Take care, sweet girl. Much love, Laura & JP
  136. Dear Zenyatta what a BEAUTIFUL picture of you with Tasty. Happy Veterans Day to all. We put on a nice program at school. I had to talk and my 6th period social studies class put on a really nice powerpoint presentation about our Flag. I really love your store. I ordered a new Barn 55 bag that I will use as my new book bag for school. My Secretariat book bag is really beat up. I hope you have a nice day tomorrow. I will run in the morning and it is going to be cold. Later it is going to warm up and be a nice day. So you and Tasty enjoy that sunshine. I love you sweet girl. Hugs and Kisses, Shari XXXOOO
    @ Dawn I am so enjoying my Bloodhorse Magazine. Thank you sweet friend :)
    @ Susan I will email you tomorrow :)
  137. @ ALL who want to see JOHN HENRY “listening” to me! TOO CUTE! This was photo was taken 3/8/2007, one day after he turned 32 :-) I also have video of our special time together…
  138. Correction re. my photo: It was taken March 10, 2007, not the 8th! Sorry, JH!
  139. Zenyatta,
    You two Mama’s to be look gorgeous and round. ;) Tasty sure is beautiful. Stay healthy and happy Big Mama.
    @ Peggy N. I saw Paula Dean a month ago at a food convention. Isn’t she gorgeous. She was promoting her new book, and cooking up chicken and waffles, macaroni and cheese, and pecan pie. Yum….
  140. Zenny – what a beautiful picture of you, Tasty and the paddocks at Lane’s End.
    I want to wish my fellow veterans a Happy Veteran’s Day, especially to my son Jon who is currently serving in the Air Force and to my father who served in World War II and was a POW. Thank you all for your kindness that you’ve shown to us vets, it doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated.
    Good luck and safe trips to all who are racing this weekend.
  141. Zenny, I want to wish your John a Happy Veterans Day and thank him and all our vets for their faithful service to our wonderful country.
  142. Lovely Dawn C.
    Yep, you got that right lady! ‘The scales are tipping over! The stewards are after me….yikes!…foul, foul!’ You are too cute Dawn!
  143. Hi Zenny. I think just from looking at the photo. Your baby bump seems to be a little bigger then Tasty`s..SO CUTE… We now have to pay close attention to the twoyr. old races. Before we know it it will be thee first Sat. in May… I am very impressed with alot of the two year olds but Hansen is one of my favorites. Keep an eye on that boy! Love you Zenny, Alene xxoo
    My “fix” for this evening… :-) Tears of Joy, Zenny, Tears of Joy! Thank you.
  145. Dear Jamie
    Just had some time to look at the print of the
    life-size Zenyatta. It is absolutely stunning, I am sure
    In it’s original size quite breath taking. Thanks so
    Much for sharing your artistic talent with all of us and Thanks
    To Team Z for such a wonderful tribute to Zenny.
    You are all so special.
  146. LOVE THE BABY BUMP!!!
  147. @Laura J
    Bernie is worth every penny, what an awesome
    Guy. Really would like to see him in person with his
    Little dance steps. Does he use those going to the
    Shed? Tooo Cute!!!
  148. @Jan S in Houston, Paula Dean is a Hoot isn’t she. I have not seen her in person but I would love to go over to her restaurant in Savannah. I hear there are still really long lines to get in. They say if she’s in town and at the restaurant she will come over to your table and sit with you.
    I have joked one of my favorite desert recipes in the whole world is a pudding recipe. We had this little cafe in our town when I was young and the lady there made a Graham Cracker Pie. It was a Graham Cracker botom, the pudding in the center was the same pudding like that is in a homemade Banana Pudding, minus the banana’s and a merigue on top and sprinkes of Graham Cracker then on top. I have the recipe from an old Cookbook from the 60s that she put in our Chamber of Commerce Cook Book. I just can not get the pudding to thicken right. It is a vague recipe. But that pie she made at her restaurant and it is just wonderful. OMG such memories from my childhood. Anyway I have joked that if I ever get to see Paula Dean I have to show her that recipe I bet she could figure out what I am doing wrong. All of the people that worked at that restaurant have now passed on. No one to ask about it and hardly anyone has ever heard of it. Anyway seeing Paula doing that Banana Pudding today reminde me of it. Blessing Peggy
  149. Signofthetimes, I’d love to make my pictures available but my husband forgot to put the pic chip back in my camera and after taking about 75 pics, on the nite before we left, I went to look back at my shots and it said “no chip in camera”!!! His life is precariously balanced on the chance that a lady named Susan or Suzanne from Cal will mail me copies of the ones she took!! Just kidding but he is in the dog house. My girlfriend is giving me duplicates of all the other pics we took on the trip, but the ones of me hugging Indy was done with my camera. When I get the dups of Lanes End I’ll try to post them to Z’s facebook or email them. Hope you can get to Lanes End to see the guys and especially Indy he’s such a grand old man.
    @Dawn Conrad your veterans tribute brought tears to my eyes, I saw a TV special on those flights to DC and the memorial and it was so touching and meaningful for them.
  150. @JAG, was just going to share my story of meeting John Henry that I thought you micht enjoy reading. A year before he died I got to see him at the Kentucky Horse Park. It was a last minute decision to go there that day but I wanted to see him and Cigar but was running out of time that day and it was really bad weather. Real Bad, raining really bad, but stopping at times. I was with my brother and told him that I really wanted to go there before heading home. Anyway I did go and ended up literally running over to the Hall of champions for the 3 oclock show. I just made it there, Well I went over to the stall where John Henry was it was a pretty big stall, lots of people around but not to many for me to see him good. lots of people in the stall with him, (have to set the scene) It was thundering like crazy outside and Lightning badly.) We also got stuck there couldn’t leave for a while, because of the weather. Anyway I was there looking in to see him and one of his handlers was right close to me, she was on the inside with him. I asked her how was he doing and she said well pretty good for his age, Well John Henry Had his head up in the corner of the four cornered stall with his rear sticking out and the expressionon his face was like just Yeah you come near me and Your going to get kicked. He was looking around all the time sseing if anyone was tring to get near him. i asked the lady what was wrong and she told me that he hated , Hated Bad Weather and they were trying to get him to go out. Well, he was having none of that. I said to myself you go boy, show them who’s the boss. This was just Tooo cute, He was just aiming to kick em. He still hadn’t gone out when i left.Just wanted to share this with you. It was an adorable scene that day. He was the boss. I was just kind of mad that they were trying to get him to go out. He did seem very scared. blessings Peggy Hope you can read this fast typing.
  151. Zenny you and tasty look so adorable,good night my lady Z God bless.
    Zenny, your daddy, Jerry, is mentioned in the above story!
  153. @ Peggy(N)
    Thank you for sharing your John Henry story. He was quite a character. He knew what he wanted and when he wanted it… You know they built that window to the tack room years ago just for HIM! He liked to listen through it, too. Smart, smart, smart ~ just like Zenyatta :-) Just totally different temprements :-P
  154. Wow! You two look so beautiful! I love the picture. Hug and kisses to both of you. Have fun outside.
  155. @Kennedys in San Diego: And Zenyatta! I wouldn’t trade my racing memories and the very dear and special friends I have made for anythng.
  157. Hey Zenyatta!…is one of those horses that we can get “familiar” with Eblouissante?! ;-) We’ll be making quite a few of the races at Hollywood Park! Be sure and have Dottie let us know whenever Eblouissante is ready and when she’ll be racing!
    ~~~~~~~
    Have a wonderful day Zenyatta and baby “Z”!

  158. @Peggy – I have had a wonderful dinner and Lady & Sons – very good and the Key Lime Pie was out of this world. A pretty city to visit – Was there about 10 years ago in the late fall. Still warm and too humid for my taste.
    To all in Zenny’s world a most joyful weekend and a two kisses on you soft nose.

  159. @Susan in TN: Cracked me up you laughing at yourself. So to get us all back on schedule in Terry’s absence:
    You might be a California Redneck if your mama has a handbag made from something your daddy stole at the Aligator Farm.
    You might be a California Redneck if your mama made Sunday dinner with something your daddy stole from the Aligator Farm.
    You might be an Arizona Redneck if your kid’s pet bird is a Turkey Vulture.
    diastu in tempe

  160. What a perfect picture! love it zen!! FROM YOUR BIGGEST FAN AMY.

  161. @Diana S – Thanks for the redneck jokes! I’m way behind on joke production this week (Terry C., are you STILL on walkabout?), muchly due to a toothache which doesn’t hurt now, but for which I’m on meds for a few more days.
    You might be a redneck if when you ride Zenyatta at the Carousel, you wave your cowboy hat like you are riding a bucking bronc. You might be a redneck if you refer to your computer mouse as a “critter”, or you think a ‘cursor’ is someone who swears a lot. You might be a redneck if you keep a can of Raid on the kitchen table. You might be a redneck if your masseuse uses lard. You might be a redneck if your wife keeps a can of Vienna sausage in her purse.

  162. Zenny, what a wonderful picture. You and TT look fabulous. What beautiful surroundings. Stay well my precious. Love always.

  163. @Judy B. – Glad to see you are hanging in there, and I hope Russ is doing well.
    @all – Some might find it interesting, that genetic analysis shows horses in the last ice-age had leopard-like markings, and the mutation wasn’t rare: http://articles.latimes.com/2011/nov/08/science/la-sci-ancient-horse-20111108

  164. Just love this photo of you and Tasty enjoying sunshine, grass and the gorgeous farm. You both look so beautiful, happy and healthy.

  167. A gorgeous picture of two gorgeous girls!

  168. What a beautiful picture of you and Tasty . . . . love those baby bumps!! You’re the absolute best Zenny and Dottie!!

  169. Love the photo of you and Tasty! More importantly, THANK YOU for offering Jaime Corum’s The Queen’s Dance for purchase! I just ordered the foil stamped print and can’t wait to display it. The only thing that would make the print even more special is if you signed it too (like the Moneighs). Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

  170. Dawn C.
    You always write so beautifully…tears flow at every stroke you pen….and yes, Breeders’ Cup 2012! We will hook up you/me!

  172. Happy Saturday Zenny, I do hope it’s a bit milder in Lexington than it is in Fort Erie, quite a brisk wind today so it feels colder. I’m sure that Matt put your sweaters on for you and Tasty. Is Matt Tasty’s helper?? I’m so glad that you have a Canadian bred as your best friend. Safe trips to all today.

  173. My only hope for the new store is that you sell the Zentatta Way street sign.
    Come to think of it I took pictures of it last year–if need be I could make a big poster of it for my home…

  174. Oh one thing about the movie War Horse–the ball cap shows a horse on it. That horse is a former race horse–something Jag.
    Jag was adopted by Wendy and lived in Michigan I believe. Much loved and cared for. There was a hugely funny video she did of him running, bucking, rearing, farting and jumping.
    Sadly Jag had to be put down because of a bad paddock accident.
    Funny enough a lady in England was drawing pictures of Jag not realizing his story. She just loved the horse. It was her drawings that drew the writers to her.
    We don’t know yet if Jag’s likeness will be in the movie but gosh it sure would be nice.
    I’ll see if I can find Wendy’s fb page and send you a link. You can ask her all the questions about her beautiful black horse.

  175. Fans of Z’s pal TT: Here is a link to a video of Tasty Temptation winning at Woodbine. She seems to have Z’s style of coming from behind to win. There are some very nice shots of her.

    http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/57565/tasty-temptation-too-tough-in-hill-n-dale

  176. @ Margaret
    There was a race horse named BIG JAG:
    http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/big+jag
    Could this be the horse you are referring to?
    He was a horse I watched during his racing career because of his name :-)

  177. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember that BIG JAG wa trained by Clay Brinson, brother of Gary (Hollywood Park starter).

  178. Zenny and Tasty – I LOVE this picture of you SO much that it is now my computer wallpaper on my 30″ Applie iMac. So when I walk in my office, I see the 2 of you stanidng there just like you were outside my window; almost feels like I live next door to you and Lanes End :) Have a great weekend and if you are not out and about, let’s have Brunch tomorrow!

  179. You both are beautiful healthy happy mares. Just the way it should be.

  180. Hi Queen Z… dropping in to say hello and to wish you and Tasty a very happy weekend. Isn’t it great that people are still talking about YOUR party? It is wet and dreary here in SoCal. Hope it is sunny at LE. But it is always sunny where YOU, our QUEEN reside, right?
    @Karen Gogue: thanks so much for the Breeders’Cup video… really enjoyable to view! :)
    @JAG and Peggy: Nice John Henry stories!
    @Anyone local: did you hear Bill Spawr and Z’s Mikey on local radio show this morning? Nice interviews.
    @Kari, thinking positive thoughts of you. Please feel better.
    @All the dumplings/horses/jockeys and all connections: Safe riding.(I hear Hollypark is off the turf today.)

  181. I love this picture of you two! Sending love to both you and “Tasty” <3. I was thinking of you as a ran my 5k race this morning :)! You always make my day Zenyatta and I wiah many blessings to your connections and to Tasty's as well. It's back to homework for me :/ but you all have a great day!
    Hugs,

  182. What an exceptionally gorgeous picture of you and Tasty Temptation, Zenyatta. Both of you gals are very lucky to be such friends and have so much in common. Your babies are due at the same time, wonder which one of you will go first? And the other that is left and waiting, I am sure will truly miss the other. It is a time off but I am sure that it will be here before we all know it. WIshing the both of you the best. Sending my Love & Blessings with hugs and kisses to both of you!

  183. @Anne from Paramount: Weren’t they great interviews, Anne? One cannot help but be ecstatic for Bill Spawr, who is solid old-school both in training techniques and in loyalty to long-time friends. A dying breed. And our Mikey was as self-effacing and gracious as always. He did mention that there are some up-and-comers from the Shirreffs’ stable to which he is looking forward to riding. Go Mikey!

  184. Zenyatta – You and TT live in one of the most beautiful spots on earth. Such a pretty picture. It was rainy and cold this a.m. and I decided to re-watch some of the Breeder’s Cup races on tv ( DVR). Somehow I thought about Pluck – last years winner in the Juvenile – not sure if turf/sprint/ …. he was such a good looking young boy. So I looked him up in Bloodhorse and was surprised to hear about his recent surgery for Colic. However looks like he will recover. For any of you interested I’ll attempt to post. Have a wonderful weekend. http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/66016/pluck-recovering-from-emergency-surgery

  185. @Delrene from Carlsbad CA, Thank you for the info on Pluck. Hope he gets better.

  186. @Cynthia/Where Zenyatta Danced: I am in total agreement w/your assessment of Bill Spawr. I was/am so happy for him! It will be great to see him at the Eclipse Awards! And of course, go Mikey! :)
    @Anyone of interest: My email is still down. When it is operative again I will let you know by ending an email. DUH! :)

  187. Tasty looks so regal in the photo! She and Zenyatta are a couple of beautiful mares! Thanks, Max, for the link to TTs race. It was fun to see her in action. Nice, smooth ride – or at least that’s what it looked like to me!

  188. @ Max, thanks for the link from T T, she was so good, Ingrid.
    @ Judy B, I hope you are okay, hugs Ingrid.

  189. @ Max – Thanks for the video of Tasty. She didn’t run too many races and never at Fort Erie. I didn’t go to the Queen’s Plate in 2009 or to Woodbine for any of her races in 2010. She has a most odd pedigree, missing information of the dam’s side, I’ve not seen a pedigree like it before, but she’s good on her sire’s side.

  190. @Brenda S., where are you looking? Tasty’s pedigree is complete on both equineline.com and pedigreequery.com.
    http://www.equineline.com/Free-5X-Pedigree.cfm?page_state=ORDER_AND_CONFIRM&reference_number=7745234&registry=T&horse_name=Tasty Temptation&dam_name=Parisia&foaling_year=2006&nicking_stats_indicator=Y

  191. Hi Zenyatta, thanks for the update. You look great!
    We really miss seeing you at the races but love your recap from the barn.
    There’s just no one like you!!!

  192. http://www.pedigreequery.com/tasty+temptation
    Heres the link to TT’s family.

  193. oops sorry Laura J, didn’t mean to repeat your post. Must have been looking it up when you were posting.

  194. What a gorgeous picture of you and Tasty against the backdrop of Lane’s End Farm. It’s truly spectacular. You are really showing quite a bit now, I can only imagine how wonderful it will be to see your new foal running by your side. Sleep weel Big Mama. I understand Mike E will be visiting you around Thanksgiving.

  195. Does anyone knows how many hands TT is? In this photo and in some other photos with Zenyatta, she looks to be as tall or nearly as tall as the Queen. If so, they are remarkably well matched and seem to be very close pals. Great to see that Zenyatta has such a good friend. Z looks as fabulous as ever. The camera always loves her.

  196. Do the Moses plan to breed you immediately after you have your foal? Her fan’s are hoping for a little break so that they might get a chance to visit her and her foal @ Lane’s End. At least this fan is really hoping there’s a break.

  197. Good evening Miss Zenyatta & baby ZeeBee, TT, Dottie & Zen-sters:
    What a gorgeous picture YOUR JOHN has taken of you, Zenny. I just love the arch of your neck….such an artistic curve! And you and the lovely TT certainly look as though you’re having a chat. Like a few other dumplings, I, too, would like to know what you girls were looking at…..certainly, it was NOT the camera. Seriously, this shot is beautiful enough to be the subject of still another painting.

    GREAT to see that your store is up & running….I do feel that there may well be a Jaime Corum print of you in my future….

    RE: WAR HORSE (the movie): I believe that I posted some of this in a prior Diary, but thought that ALL those with Christmas gifts in mind and those TEACHERS who are part of our community might appreciate hearing it again.

    The book, “War Horse” was published in 1982 by author Michael Morpurgo, who was the third person to hold the title Children’s Laureate in the UK from 2003-2005. He writes for children & youth between the ages of 10-14, roughly. “War Horse” is an absolutely AMAZING short novel that teaches about the ravages of war through the eyes of Joey the horse. Like thousands of horses, Joey was “seized” (albeit politely) by the British army for service in WWI, even though he was the pet of his owner’s son. And the plot goes from there — in a story that takes children & youth into War in a far gentler way than many films might do, while helping them to see the sacredness of life. It is an uplifting, life-affirming story in the end, as are all of Morpurgo’s books.

    Of course, a movie can do things a book cannot, and vice versa, and from the trailer Karen Gogue posted, I would say that Speilberg is aiming for an older audience. I do think, though, that he will be faithful to the story — he usually is, unless the film medium comes into play in ways that demand him to make adaptations. But I do think that the movie will raise people’s conscience about the plight of horses in war, especially WW1 where over a million of them died, and in general. One hopes that horse rescues worldwide will benefit!!!!
    Love to all

  198. @ Laura & Stephanie – thanks for your links, as I’ve said before, I’m a complete dimwit when it comes to computers. My info was coming from Horse Racing Nation.
    @ Max – I too would love to know how many hands. I asked here once before but nobody responded. I think Tasty and Zenny are about the same height.

  199. Zenny, YOU and Tasty are such perfect FRIENDS – ears perked … watching after each other, enjoying the moment. Dottie, such a beautiful photo that John took of THE ‘MOMFRIENDS’! Thanks to everyone for all of the wonderful links! So much to read, see and enjoy every day!
    Zenny, my Dad was a Veteran of World War Two and Korea. He and I watched all of your races right up until he passed away last year after a heroic battle with cancer. You brought him (and he and I) such JOY! We shared cheering you on during all your races that we watched together. SUCH MEMORIES – I can’t Thank YOU enough for them! Almost all of the men (and some of the women) in our family are Veterans (I must tell you – they know who Zenyatta is! – How could we not share our enthusiasm and love for YOU!) . God’s blessings to all of the Veterans especially this weekend.
    And God’s blessings as always to your FAMILY, Zenny and everyone on your website who consider themselves a part of your family too – including my family here!

  200. ALL: Just noticed this on The Blood-Horse site about a fan visit with Havre de Grace @ The Vinery…..proof positive (as if WE need it, LOL) that Team Z has had a PERMANENT impact on the sport…in their own sweet & gentle way!
    http://cs.bloodhorse.com/blogs/throughthelens/archive/2011/11/12/a-visit-with-havre-de-grace.aspx

  201. Wow. Tasty Temptation’s pedigree is like reading royalty. I’m so glad that you & TT are best friends. And thanks for the link to watching her race! Fun to see her in action too. Pouring rain here in So. Cal – perhaps L.A. too. have a birthday dinner celebration for my husband tonight and must go out in this! My dog hates the storm – lightening & thunder so she will accompany and remain in the car – with windows rolled partially down. She is a German Shepherd, but a big baby when it comes to rain! Crazy – wonder if she would get used to it if she lived where it rains a lot. chances are she’ll be under the covers tonight. What we do for our wonderful companions. Definitely won’t be heading up to L.A. for the carousel ride. Another time…. ladies…. If you go, have fun…

  202. Love this picture, Zenny. I already knew you were gorgeous, but now I can see how lovely Tasty is, too. I hope the boys aren’t looking out any windows in their barn – one look at the two of you and they’d bust through the barn door! :-) Sweet dreams, sweetie…

  203. What a beautiful photo!

  204. Dear Zenny
    Hope you had a great racing Sat. Spent some time at
    Our wonderful Annual Nutcracker Market shopping for
    The holiday with a BBF horse friend I used to ride with.
    She had a lovely very large trechaner/TB mare, Bunny
    That she breed and I rode briefly. Bunny was large, talented,
    But was ditsy like a TB. We both loved her and it was so
    Good to talk about her at holiday time. Have a great relaxing
    Sunday. I am going to send you those Delicious Harry and David
    Pears for Christmas. Hope you enjoy them. XXXXOOO

  205. Dear All
    Heard from Judy B. She has a wonderful support
    system on place so is able to get together with
    Her sister and her children are close by. Each day is a
    New day, one at a time. XXXOOO

  206. HRTV has a great Inside Information on Northern Dance.
    A lovely tribute and story

  207. @Susan Fredrick
    Your poor hubby, dog house it is. These new cameras!!!
    So glad you have other sources for photos. Love to know
    When you post them. So glad Indy’s groom brought him out
    So many times. I bet he loves everyone loving on him.

  208. @Jag
    No the horse’s name was Jagugar Hope. A son of Turkoman.

  209. @Peggy N
    Such a cute story about JH. First rule of horsemanship,
    Never let the horse get the better of you or he always
    Will!!!!!

  210. A Day with Zenyatta and Rachel
    http://cs.bloodhorse.com/blogs/horse-racing-steve-haskin/archive/2011/11/12/a-day-with-zenyatta-and-rachel.aspx
    QUOTE: “If you took all the passion that Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra sparked during their respective reigns in 2009 and 2010 and converted it into pure energy you could keep the Sport of Kings (and Queens) running at full speed for the next 20 years.”
    Beautiful photos included. Thanks, Steve! You rock!!!

  211. McLaine Ward, Saphirre the champion Grand Prix jumper,
    Is competing in the Hampton Classic, without her. She is injured
    And is going to be given a year off to recover from a
    ligament injury. He says he is lucky to be in her world. The sign
    Of someone who loves his mare.

  212. Checking in after more than a day away. First of all, a belated salute and word of thanks to all veterans, especially to those on this site who have served, including Barbara Grimaldi and Doreen in the Navy, and of course John Shirreffs in the Marines. Thinking also especially of you, Delrene, and your son who is serving his second tour of duty in Afghanistan with the Air Force.
    @Everyone—For fun photos including horses in inspired Halloween costumes as well as Icelandic ponies frolicking in the surf of their native island, check out the Saturday photo blog at Horse and Man. http://horseandman.com/
    @Karen Gogue:
    I’ve been away
    For more than a day,
    But I’ve now seen your request,
    And I’ll do my best
    Before the weekend is through
    To honor Sgt. Reckless
    As is her due!

  213. Hi Zenny, I really like this picture of you and Tasty. It is nice that the two of you are such good friends and you both look cute together. It really makes it nice that you are both in foal and expecting around the same time. I hope the two of you will be able to share the same padock with your foals. I have no idea how thst works. I hope you have a great weekend and thanks so much for shareing the photo’s that we simply love.

  214. Thanks for so many wonderful posted information and videos.
    Someone mentioned that Tasty Temptation had a “strange” female line. However, if you go to 5-cross pedigree, you will see that she has Hail to Reason, Damascus, and Dr. Fager in her female line. You can’t get better than that.
    I’ll never forget that Big Brown had “questionable” predigree, but he sure could race. And he had one of the best conformations in his age group.

  215. To Abigail from Montreal: Romans Stables has an article from Lexington-Herald in their facebook page about Terlingua’s great grand daughter, Sassy Image; she’s the best female sprinter in the US. Unfortunately, she first had a quarter crack and then an bone chip on her ankle.(She was injured at the gate in the Alabama at Saratoga; being a smart girl she refused to race and ran to the outside.) She didn’t reach her reserve of $1.5 million, so her owner, Jerry Romans, purchased her back from Keeneland and is going to fix her ankle.
    It’s the right thing to do for this classy filly. And Dale Romans Stable will race her in 2012.
    Her original purchase price was $42,000.
    If you want to see a Zenyatta-inspired finish, you can look up the Princess Rooney Stakes for 2011 when Mike Smith rode her for the win.

  216. WOW…. LOVELY photo!!! Thanks … I love to see photos.
    Hugs, to team Z.

  217. @Abigail from Montreal–good for Sassy Image. I wish her well. When one is dealing with horse rescues day in and day out, it is so refreshing to see someone treat his horses right.
    Well, it’s been quite a day for me. Lots of trauma in various areas, so I’m ready to snuggle down with my book and think about pleasant things like YOU and TT. I smile just thinking of the picture above.
    Wishing good turn of events for all dealing with health issues and those we are missing. You’re never forgotten by us. Good night, sweet Z. Love you always.

  218. Zenny, you look wonderful Pregnant, I am going back through pictures of Del Mar 2010, as predicted those memories would get me through some sad times….I just love you sweetie xoxoxoxoxoxox from Maine

  219. @Signofthetimes, when I asked them what was wrong with John Henry that day they told me that he was “Mad”. They were telling me how he hated bad weather. He deffinately had the upper hand on them that day. He had him a real good spot in that corner. Too cute

  220. Returning to the subject of Veterans Day again, I have been trying to remember who it was who posted about their father having served in WWII and about how he was very thin when he returned—he had refused to eat horse meat, saying he would rather die. High hoof to him for his service and his commitment to horses.

  221. What a beautiful shot of two beautiful mamas-to-be. Zenny, you will always be so special in my heart. You were such a thrill to watch during your racing career. I am so looking forward to seeing you with your foal for the first time. I hope you and Tasty will hang out together with your foals. Thank you to John and Dottie for this new picture. Love you, Zenny. XXXOOO

  222. @Peggy N
    Yes, TOO CUTE John Henry was a handful.

  223. @Peggy N
    Just love TB and their quirks. They are such characters.

  224. Great to get the update and see that you both are looking so good. And the news about Drosselmeyer continuing to compete is grand!

  225. Trian: It was my father in WW1. He loved horses was a farrier in the war served with Capt Harry Truman. Later farmed and eventurally became a brick layer. Never could pass a horse with out looking and commenting. Loved going to the state fair to the races.
    Remember him and my grandpa talking about seeing the great Dan Patch race and the fair. Have a great week and thanks for remember.

  226. it’s great you have a friend to enjoy your pregnancy with Z. It’s also great to start thinking about your new life as a mom. Although you will no longer be on track throwing dirt in the other horse faces a you pass them one by one Its awesome to think thhat we will never forget those great moments, In my heart you will always stay along with the greatest,zenyatta you are truly one of a kind

  227. @ TERRI Z, signofthetimes + ALL: Thanks for the heads up on my girl Terlingua, Terri. That is SO KIND of you to think of me! And sign –I’ll check the Northern Dancer on Inside Info. and loved hearing about OUR JUDY & your wise “one day @ a time.”
    Thinking of OUR KARI & sending her love from me and my Spirit Dog…..

  228. Love the picture! My horses are envious of your beautiful green pasture. Ours is brown already but then it never really greened up this past summer due to drought. Maybe we’ll have to move to Kentucky when we retire!
    Both you and TT are glowing! I love to look at your tummy and imagine what the baby looks like. What a glorious day it will be when your little one arrives! The time is flying by and before you know it, your baby will be running at your side in those lush green pastures!
    Love to you, your baby, TT, and your Team!

  229. @Kathleen Kimber MO—Thanks for refreshing my memory, Kathy. And high hoof once again to your father for his service and his values.

  230. “Weeping may endure for a night, but JOY cometh in the morning.”
    12th Heart

  231. For the cute video of Jag the horse that the lady from England kept drawing not realizing Jag’s story Wendy posted her video of him playing in the snow. Sadly Jag suffered a very a very serious paddock accident and had to be put down. Please enjoy this video. And when War Horse comes to your home town go see it! We should also try to find the writers and see if they will sell the ball caps that features Jag’s portrait on it!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0V6zr-FcIQ4

  232. When will you star in a movie? I know you love the cameras.

  233. Queen Z….you and TT have that maternal glow!!
    Jag…I’ll add a John Henry story. After the Breeders cup in Kentucky several years ago I made another visit to Kentucky Horse Park to see all the champions again. Of course, John was at the top of the list. As we were visiting with John and his handler, the young man said John has really mellowed as he has gotten older and his disposition is so much better!! within seconds of that statement John quick as ever reached over and bit his handler as if to say “I’m not getting older and definitely not more mellow!
    Has anyone seen the movie “And They’re Off?” I have tried to find it locally with no success.

  234. ZENNY, You and TASTY look so BEAUTIFUL. LOVE THE BABY BUMPS TOO CUTE…. What a TERRIFIC VIEW you both have. I was just on the ZENYATTA shop and i ordered my poster. I can’t wait to get it. I LOVE YOU 4-EVER Z and BABY Z. P.S. DOTTIE THANK YOU SO MUCH for making it possible for all of us Z fans to be able to purchase such a BEAUTIFUL poster of our BELOVED ZENNY. What a GREAT piece of history to have.

  235. Zenny you are soooooooooooooo beautful

  236. Dear Zenyatta: I have this to offer as the name of your foal–Zentauri. The name encompasses you and the Taurus quality of never giving up. It suits both a colt or a filly. You are up ther with the great Seatle Slew. I also keep the wonderful John Henry and the Great Secretariat close to my heart. By you and the Slew–are something more than special.

  237. I am still chuckling at the clip taken at the Zenyatta bash. A lady looks right into the camera and says, “They even have Zenyatta toilet paper in the bathroom.” I guess it was the camera man that said “Guess that’s because she always ran from behind.” I thought that was a good one.

  238. Good evening Queen Zenyatta, It was a hard day taking my mom out. But at least she got out and had a nice lunch. I was singing your song a lot in my head. It helps to calm me down. I hope you enjoyed the warm weather and did not have a lot of wind. I just watched Tasty T running a race. She was good. I enjoyed that very much. Thank you Max. You and Tasty can talk about your racing careers :) Well sweet girl I have work to do. I love you and think about you so much. Have a good night and sweet dreams. Hugs and Kisses, Shari XXXOOO
    @ Thank you Max I enjoyed watching Tasty
    @ Dawn check out Tasty racing. Too cute ;)

  239. I just love this picture Zenny! You both look wonderful, and how nice to get a glimpse of the beautiful place where you live. Hope you had some of the same warm weather we had here today (but storms are coming, I’m afraid). Sleep well. Love from your Ohio friend, Sandy
    @Barbara Wood (Texas) – hope today was better for you with no trauma

  240. The first Z race we saw was her last 11/10. We don’t know how we missed this terrific career. It did not dawn on us what a special athlete Z is until I did some research. Goose bumps, tears, yells, sweats; we experience them every time we watch a Z race. We find ourselves still pulling for her in her final race to beat Blame. If only we could have had a match race. If only she could have bred a colt with Secretariat. Big Red is the greatest horse of all time, but, we have no doubt that had Z been at Belmont June 1973, Red would have won by fewer lengths. He would have had female company in that stretch run. Congrats to the entire team. We can’t wait to come up and actually see Z.

  241. Will there be a Zenyatta 2012 Calendar for sale on the website? Can you let us know, I would love to get one as a Christmas gift for my daughter.

  242. Hi Zenyatta. What a beautiful picture of you and TT. You are both glowing. I love your new shop – already ordered my poster – cannot wait to get it. I need to get the perfect frame! Stay warm, weather in Kentucky seems to be gettng cooler. We had 80 degrees today in Texas – just loved it – even went to the pool for a couple of hours. That is the only place I get to catch up on my reading. Hope we get a lot more days of sun and relaxation. Love you big girl. Eat well for two and have a lot of fun with TT and all of your friends. Love you, Angel.

  243. @Margaret – Thank you for that lovely video and song. So pretty to watch him playing in all that snow. Wow. sunny today as if there was no storm last night at all. Hope your weekend was fun and restful Zenny girl and TT. You are both so beautiful in this picture. All of your photos are amazing, but I really do find this one so moving.
    All those who are engaged in the storms of life, take heart and know you have a group of friends cheering you on in all your trials.

  244. @Sandy (Northeast Ohio)–yes, much better! Thank you SO much! A lovely day today.
    Love to all the Z-Dumplings who lurk and/or post here. You are ALL the BEST. And Z, we’re all here because of YOU. Love you always.

  245. You and Tasty have lots to talk about….pink or blue halters and of course your daily maternity exercises out in the field.
    You both look great and really cool that your “best friends”
    Hugs Z

  246. @Karen Gogue—
    I’ll need a couple more days
    To complete my poem of praise
    For Sgt. Reckless,
    The great Marine
    (One of the finest ever seen),
    Because there’s so much to tell
    And I want to do it well.

  247. @Quarterhossgal
    Great JH story. Such a character. Good thing he finally found a trainer who “loved and spoiled him”. Maybe he got too spoiled!!!

  248. @Abigail
    Love seeing Jericho as your picture on your facebook page.
    Never think of Canada and US competing. To me we are one.
    Just an extension of each other.

  249. Really Really love the Fan Appreication day held by Mr. Porter for HDG. She is a really beautiful, kind, talented and proud mare.
    She really thinks she is a champion and that is what a champion thinks. So very proud an regal. So glad Zenny and Rachel have set the bar for the “girls”. Go HOY HDG !!!!

  250. Dear Zenny,
    Tasty looks like she had some large ears as well. This photo is TOO CUTE. The two preggers running and romping and gossiping about “oh I can’t move very fast today, oh scratch me here, oh my bending over to graze is a little bit harder”. Really love all these photos. Thanks to Dottie, YOUR JOHN, The Mosses and all of your lovely friends at Lanes End and your Mid-Husband Matt, who is taking care of you superbly. Sweet Dreams XXXXOOOO

  251. We all thank you Trina…what a timely post of that poem when it is done…WAR HORSE and the story of Reckless…heros. And so many more not recognized who served and died for this country through the darkest days of war around the world….Bless them all and may they be remembered for their selfless sacrifice…the offering up of their precious self and the grief and sorrow that follows sometimes not willingly….heros.

  252. Karen Gogue – Thanks for the links. I loved the info on Jaguar Hope. “War Horse” looks so intense, I’m not sure I want to see “the bad stuff” done to horses, even considering it’s Spielberg (e.g., glad it’s not Scorsese). But I think I may have to see it, anyway.
    @Abigail – thanks for the “War Horse” info and link to HdG. I hope the trend continues.

    The video of Z’s party featured our very own Z Dumpling poster Sue Fredrick…it was she who told the reporter of the Z TP in the restrooms! What a great clip, of all people, a Z Dumpling poster! And a wonderful happy John Shirreffs speaking of HIS Queen…I am glad I ran across this video to share. One can tell, from all that we have seen thus far, that the atmosphere there at the party was filled with remembrances – conveying fun, sharing, new friendships and love, the same love and caring that Zenyatta.com instills in us on a daily basis. The celebration of this great mare will long live in the hearts and minds well into future generations…We are truly thankful to the Mosses, John and Dottie, and the Breeders’ Cup for all future Breeders’ with the HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTEST!….all hail THE QUEEN – ZENYATTA!

  256. Just catching up on reading and found this interesting character study of a city cowboy at the Bronx Equestrian center in NYC. I hope you can also open up the video and the photographs in the article. Some pretty nice photos. City cowboys and horses! Not quite your caliber Zenny girl, but happy horses just the same. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/13/nyregion/orville-davis-a-musician-and-cowboy-character-study.html?src=recg

  257. Thank you JAG for the HDG meet and greet videos. Just love her! But I must say, that nothing, NOTHING beats our Queen and HER meet and greet crowds – ever! Always truly amaZing…. the magic, the power of that magnetism she has over all that have ever met her, (and still does to this day) will only intensify and extend well beyond – down into the lore of the pages of racing history…those moments and her memories…her legacy will always carry those magical times through the ages …It will probably never be duplicated in any of our lifetimes…..For Zenyatta’s sake I have a desire that it doesn’t, but for racing sake, I wish with that same desire, that it would….

  258. Karen Gogue: Hi Karen, is there a Z Dumpling Poster?

  259. @Linda in NJ—That word “poster” is so confusing! This time Karen meant it in the sense of “a person who posts.”
    @Delrene from Carlsbad—Loved the “Cowboy inside a City Man” link.
    @JAG—Thanks for the HDG links.

  260. Thank you adorable Trina! :)

  261. Zneyatta you and Tasty look fabulous. Bernadini is doing a grand job. Your foal is very much anticipated.
    Love to you , Tasty and all
    Love hugs and kisses

  262. Hi sweet Z; This is a gorgeous picture of you & Tasty. I know I am very behind these posts as I have been traveling again! (So soon since I had gotten back from Kentucky just Monday) I am sure no one will read this, but I wanted to write you & tell you I love & missed you.
    Wish I got these races on TV! I can’t get my husband to change.
    love with 2 kisses on your soft nose, one for baby z

  263. Zenyatta, it must make you really happy to have a stable mate who is in the same situation at the same time as you. Both of you are able to talk and hang out, seeing as both of you are expecting at pretty much the same time. I can’t wait to see what your foals will look like, once they are born. I am watching all the racing when I get the chance and I’m not too tired. I will be a little busy on Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend so I will watch racing on Thanksgiving day, Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday of that weekend. Good luck to all of your buddies racing in the races.

  264. Yeah! Pictures!
