Happy Tuesday!
Yes, it is just that….a very happy Tuesday! I am so pleased to report the findings from all of my evaluations yesterday. I am DOING GREAT!
Per Mike Cline from Lane’s End, I AM DOING EVERYTHING JUST AS THEY WOULD HOPE! (Blush, Blush!) I am really beginning to ‘let down now’. This means my body is relaxing and recognizing the fact that the many changes required before foaling occurs are now gradually happening.
My “bag” did get a bit bigger over the weekend. It is currently the size of the palm of one’s hand.
From all reports and the many years of experience of my Lane’s End Team…I am still several days or so from actually foaling…but all of the proper stages they want to see are taking place in my body.
We are at the stage where nature truly directs everything as to how quickly these stages progress. Needless to say, I am constantly being observed and all changes…no matter how slight…are noted.
At this time, my daily routine is remaining the same. Weather permitting, I am turned out into my paddock at 7:30 each morning and I’m brought back inside around 3:30 each afternoon. My diet is monitored and my ‘treat’ intake at this time is very controlled. It is all about eating healthy and doing everything right!
I must say, this is getting very exciting! As I’ve never done all of this before, there is so much new to learn and experience. I do know things are changing with my body…and it is all GOOD NEWS! I am totally relaxed and very, very happy!
I’ll keep you posted on all future updates.
Oh, here comes TASTY to visit. I’ll ask her how things are going with her ‘status’….and we can compare notes. As we both conceived on the same day…it will be an interesting study of 2 maiden mares having their first foals.

Ms Zenyatta, Top of the Morning to You, even if baby Z cannot and probably will not wait until March 17. I dreamed you had a boy, someone dreamed you had a girl, some hope your baby will run with Rachel’s baby boy, Jesse. Colt or fily, yours will probably meet with Rachel’s at the Kentucky Derby, if your little one is a big one like you and starts racing later, the two kids will probably meet up at the BC, fily or colt…The First Born of Our Queen..Check on you later, Darlin’…Lisag

Oh no. Consortium was my absolute favorite of Bernie’s Boys to Run for the Roses. He shares a Grand Sire with Z, Machiavellian. Too bad; there’s so many nasty injuries that sideline them. Well, Alpha is still in the hunt. Hugs, JB

PS, I hope I am not at work when I find you have given birth, it is like a library in here, they will be able to hear me on the 1st and 3rd floor. I am getting so much more nervous, knowing this is really March 1. O, my, how cool. Baby born today, Leap Year, the 29th and the Queen April Fool’s Day, and fooled everyone exept David back in the Yearling day, how cute. Just babbling, I am getting more and more nervous. Lisag~ I know what you mean about being at work. I told my co-worker yesterday that I might have to take the day off when I hear the news…a “mental health” day if you will. I just know that I will be an “emotional mess”! The anticipation and excitement is all most too much!

I am just so excited for you Zenny. And how wonderful that everything is proceeding along so well for you and Tasty. It will be fun to see who will have their foal first. So glad that weather permitting you still get to go outside for such an extended period of time. Hooves crossed that you sail through everything just as well as you did your career. Love ya . . . . .

Zenny, sounds like things are going along very well! I am so glad that you have your friend Tasty to keep you company. I still think it would be great if you had your foal on my birthday the 10th, tee hee! Hey, the little foal will come when HE/SHE IS READY! Not a moment before!

For a very long time, I was obsessed with daily reading each post. Then, as time progressed, I would wait a few days and then catch up. I must say, I haven’t missed a single post. I love these. Thank you Dottie.
Now…Again, I am glued daily in anticipation of the new prince or princess.
I can’t wait to hear the news that we all long to hear….
