  3. Casse Has Derby Fever with Airoforce, Conquest Big E
    Churchill Downs Nov 29, 2015
Norman Casse, chief assistant and son to trainer Mark Casse, can’t help but dream about Kentucky Derby 142 after two big wins on Saturday’s “Stars of Tomorrow II” card at Churchill Downs with John C. Oxley’s Airoforce in the Kentucky Jockey Club (GII) and Conquest Stables’ Conquest Big E in a first-level allowance optional claiming event.

“It’s just an exciting time for us,” Casse said. “We’re excited to be a part of two good horses that are owned by two really good owners. Anytime you have any type of big 2-year-old – even if they haven’t started – you hope that they would put you in a good position where you can at least map out a plan to get them to the Kentucky Derby. We know the reality and we’re still a long way away and they still have to continue to get better, but all indications show that they’re good horses and we have something to be excited about going into (spending the winter at) Palm Meadows (in Florida).”

    1. Norman- I am excited for you! That is great.

      1. Dear Ann:

Classy trainer and stable. Happy for them too. Love and Hugs, JB

  8. Dressed In Hermes Closes Strongly In Cecil B. DeMille Victory
by Paulick Report Staff | 11.29.2015
The Janet Armstrong-trained Dressed in Hermes bested the field with a strong closing kick in Sunday’s Cecil B. DeMille Stakes at Del Mar. The $100,000, Grade III contest for straight 2-year-olds was held at one mile over the firm turf course.
    From article:
Quotes for G3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes:
MIKE SMITH (Dressed in Hermes, winner) – “Janet (trainer Janet Armstrong) just said ride him with confidence. She said he might do best to lay fourth or fifth and then he should come running. She was right. I just had to guide him around there. He wants to run on, this horse. I had a hard time pulling him up after the race. Had a hard time pulling him up going into the winner’s circle. He’ll run on; mile and an eighth for sure. He’s got a lot of good energy.”

    1. Dear BGG:

Thanks for this info on Dressed In Hermes (cute name). Wow, our Mikey’s been on fire lately. Congrats to DIH and Mike. Love and Hugs, JB

  9. November 30 Cherokee Devotional

Lack of wisdom makes us believe we are destined to go through certain experiences. You can hear it in voices when we say, “It runs in the family.”
The thing that runs most in the family is the mouth-the need to warn and warn and show fear and tell everyone we have bad blood. There is no bad blood that Spirit cannot fix. There is no ailment that is above His name. There is only hard-headedness on people’s part to learn about it.
If someone in your family had a magic recipe, you’d be conniving to get it. Think of all you could do, think what miracles you could perform. Yet, you have a spiritual gift that is idle-when it could be your greatest miracle.

They brought their accursed fire-water to our village, making wolves of our warriors…and when we protested and destroyed their bad spirits, they came in multitudes on horse back…

    todays devo:

How often do we let stress creep into our lives and take over? We start our day spending quiet time with God, feeling fully wrapped in His love. Then, something changes when we step out the door – traffic is crazy, your kid forgot her coat, you spilled your coffee, and now you’re two hours late to work. And, before you know it, you’re walking around with your shoulders up to your ears, wondering why you have a headache.

During these times, it’s important to bring your focus back to Scripture – “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NLT

Even in our most stressful times, God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. This week, we encourage you to allow God to calm you. Have a friend who could use a little stress relief? Send them this free, shareable eCard and ask them to walk alongside you, encouraging one another to breathe in the beauty of God’s promises.
