Happy Monday!

Alys sent us a few new photos of Zenyatta and her Tapit colt out on a sunny day.

13Z has become quite the big boy! He had a visit with the blacksmith last week—watch the video below to see how well behaved he was.

Alys also caught Coz and Cooper Sawyer playing with a jolly ball.

In case you missed last week’s updates, we have recently added new content to the Photos and Videos sections. Head on over to see the new 13Z gallery and an especially unique video of Z.

  1. Maybe the last to know-if not, there is a new Ask the Experts that was posted
    on Friday August 30th.
So, if you are wondering where everyone is, go there.
    It’s not easy keeping track.
Thanks to Kathy R for the hint.

  2. warm tall beautyfull zenny 13z coz kiss your soft noses, walk and breeze on green grass

  3. Oh, Cosmic One how well I recall the anxious wait for your arrival. You are worth every precious second and more. Your Mama shines from the gleam in your eye and I look forward to every moment of your future. Bless Mr. and Mrs. Moss for allowing us on the ever growing bus of Zenyatta nation. She is the greatest racehorse of my lifetime. Sorry Secrtariat.

  4. I asked a question for the experts, about Zenyatta’s happiness and mental state when she doesn’t have a foal at her side. We all know how she loves her babies, but when she is without them, she still seems to yearn for human contact more then her horsey friends. She seems to be always watching for humans to relate to. I wanted to know what they have done at the farm to accommodate her special conditions, and the fact that she has always had an unique relationship with people than other race horses, but also realizing that this is a working farm that can’t make too many differences in her care. I was wondering how they handled all that. Does anyone know if this has been answered, and if so, where I can find it? I’m writing this in the hospital, the sixth time in a month and a half; sorry I haven’t been posting. I have missed you guys!!

    1. Hope you are feeling better! Hospital trips are never fun. Ever.

I don’t think that question has been answered yet, but hopefully, someone asked that question when they opened the “Ask the Experts” thread up for the fan inquires again.

I think Zenyatta is fine when she has no foal by her side. She has always been a smart mare and she probably finds ways to entertain herself. That probably leads to someone from the Lanes End staff coming over to check on her (I mean hello, it’s Zenyatta. Why not?), and she charms them into staying longer than they had originally planned.

That’s how I think she gets her attention for the day.

  5. Hi Mama Z! I hope you and the boys are having a fun Sunday! ♥♥♥

  6. Love the video! So nice to see that one was recorded at a landscape instead of portrait :D

One thing though about the videos. I don’t get to be around live horses, like, ever, because I don’t live near any. It would be really great to hear just the horses and no music. The music in Z13’s blacksmith video was cute and fit him, but I’d rather hear just him. Hooves clip clopping, horsie snorting and whickering, even just barn sounds. Everyday to you good folks (sob!!) but rare to me!

Holy cow! Coz is SO gorgeous! I can’t wait to see more of him. Will there be video of him in training? It would’ve been so cool to see him run at Hollywood Park like his mom did. I wish someone could’ve saved it to use it as a training and rehabilitation track. :(

Keep up the good work! Love all the big pictures!
    Sunny :)

  7. Alys,
Beautiful photos and videos. Love the updates on Coz and 13Z. Thanks again.

  8. 13Z is certainly a striking colt and definitely resembles his dam. What a great broodmare Zenny is turning out to be! These first two colts are going to be exciting.

  9. I just wondered why 13Z didn’t have a pedigree under his dam progeny on her pedigree? The 2012 & 2014 foals have pedigrees. The sorrel colt front 2013 is the one I am asking about. Well beautiful babies. Cheryl.
