Taking Time Off

Zenyatta at Lane’s End Farm, April 2016. Photo by Kyle Acebo.

Zenyatta will not be bred this year. She continues to do well and is looking great with her new paddock buddy—even sharing her cookies. We’ll post more photos of them soon!

We appreciate all of the love and support her fans have shown. While we understand the concern the public has for Zenyatta’s well-being, we ask that you do not contact Lane’s End Farm to inquire about Zenyatta or her foals. We do our best to be generous with information and to share Zenyatta’s life with her fans through this website. Zenyatta.com will continue to be the source of official updates on all things Zenyatta.

John Gosden capped a fantastic week by winning the Ebor with Muntahaa.Frankel’sboy Weekender was 2nd.
Rubilinda has joined Richard Mandella. She runs in an optional claiming race tomorrow.I hope all goes well for her.
Enable is working well ahead of her comeback at Kempton Park next month. The old swagger has returned.

  2. Gosh,Well done to Mendelssohn for his 2nd in the Travers!Congratulations to the winner Catholic Boy.

    1. Congrats Catholic Boy; well done. Good 2nd Mendy. Love and Hugs, JB

      1. Dear Sheena and Judy,

Catholic Boy really came on strong when he needed to — Javier was just enjoying the ride! Mendelssohn ran a good race even though his connections had said he wasn’t quite back 100% yet. Congrats to Catholic Boy and his connections (I really like John Thomas, trainer)! Bravazo finished a close third, too!

        Hugs and Cheers

        1. Adding my congrats. It was a fun one to watch.
Marshall, I really like J. Thomas, too. Did they say he was a steeplechase rider? So happy for him!

  3. Dear Z Fans:

We’ve lost John McCain. A true hero, patriot and honorable man. RIP. We will miss you very, very much. Ted Kennedy passed on this day nine years ago from the same illness. They were friends. Love and Hugs, JB

    1. Dear Judy,

What sad news. John McCain was most definitely an honorable man, and this is such a big loss. He was indeed a true hero and cared deeply for this country. Unfortunately, there is quite a dearth of these qualities nowadays. I saw in the newspaper this afternoon that it was nine years ago that Teddy died. Mr. McCain fought the glioblastoma valiantly just as he fought for this country. Rest in Peace, Sen. McCain, and thank you.

Condolences to family, friends and our wounded USA.

      Hugs and Love

      1. Dear Marshall:

He fought for the Country right until the end. He will be missed now more than ever. Love and Hugs, JB

        1. Amen to that, Judy.

I don’t see anyone with his honesty and character in DC — we need more like him for sure. We can only hope and pray for those who put the country first instead of their own egos and personal scoreboards or vendettas. Too many are just concerned with re-election.

Though Sen. McCain had been side-lined for many months, it was comforting to know that he was still there.

          Hugs and Love 🙏 🇺🇸

        2. RIP, Sen. McCain.

  4. RIP Senator John McCain who joined his friend Edward Kennedy on August 25th.The dream has ended and the morning is here.

    1. That is a precious photo.
Amazing how these horses carry themselves around small children.
Love that sparkle in his eye.
      Thanks for sharing.

  6. Dear Judy, Marshall, Sheena, et al,

Senator John McCain was a hero in the truest sense, a man of the highest standards and principles. He served his country at all times, without fail. We need more like you in politics today! We salute you and we honor you. RIP Senator McCain.

    1. Dear Kathy,

Yes indeed we do. Senator McCain was honest, reasonable, brave and honorable.
Bless him and blessings to his beloved family. This Country is truly grateful.

      Hugs and Love

    2. Even though we knew it was coming, part of us just kept hoping that it wouldn’t. Agree with what everyone else has said – he will be missed in many ways. Wonder if they will televise the service from the National Cathedral on Sunday?

      1. Dear Sandy:

I read the memorial for John McCain in Washington Cathedral is Saturday at 10:00 AM Eastern Time. I’m thinking CNN, MSNBC will broadcast it. Love and Hugs, JB
