Not only does Sergio de Sousa keep Cozmic One happy and healthy at his farm, he goes out of his way to share updates with us. Here’s a glimpse into Coz’s birthday morning at De Sousa Stables.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to give you a report on my visit with our Queen. We first had a great visit with all of the Lane’s End stallions (although it was almost impossible to take pictures as they were all in their stalls – like visiting someone in jail!!). The stallion complex is comprised of four barns and is quite impressive. I was especially excited to see Catalina Cruiser, Quality Road, and Honor A P, but they are all wonderful.
Then our guide, Louise, drove us what seemed like MILES into the farm before we arrived and Zenny’s paddock. She was in her favorite corner along with a pasture mate whose name I am not able to remember. Zenny was very gracious and allowed conversation, pets, and photos as long as we continued to supply cookies ? It was a wonderful experience and I am SO grateful to Lane’s End for allowing us to come and to Judy Berube for the wonderful gift of the prize she actually won. I must say that despite what some others have posted, Zenny is definitely NOT available for public viewing. She must have been in just the right place for some folks to see her on a general tour of Lane’s End.
Judy is going to post a photo of me and Zenyatta in the comments to this post. You can imagine me giving her your best and telling her how MUCH we all love her.

Big Congratulations to Top Gun Tommy with Jose Gomez aboard in Race 6 today at Belmont! Jose Gomez is a newbie and was riding the favorite today. They won convincingly, and Jose G. was so excited and grateful for the opportunity — it was wonderful! TGT is a Mineshaft colt out of a Kitten’s Joy mare.

Additionally, Wicked Indeed finished 2nd in Race 6 with Jose Lezcano aboard. Wicked Indeed is a lovely grey by Tapit out of a Harlan’s Holiday mare, Wicked Deed. Congratulations to WI, Jose Lezcano and trainer Rudy Rodriguez!

I must have missed something. When did Zellda go back to Kentucky? Could someone fill me in? I too would like to congratulate the young man who got to ride and win on the favorite horse. FINALLY, we’re getting bits of rain and it already seems to be raising some of the water levels a bit. Too bad there couldn’t be something like a pipeline that could direct some of the water you folks seem to get to this part of the world . Here’s hoping everyone has a sparkling day.

In other news, Hovey had a major health scare of the colic variety, but rest assured he is OK now and still prepping to attend Your Horse is Alive.
