Congrats to Envoutante and Brian Hernandez Jr. for the win in the Falls City at Churchill Downs, too! She won this race last year on a fast track (ran 2nd fastest time), and she won this year on a sloppy track at a slow pace, but she held off all comers! This 4 year old daughter of Uncle Mo might just be in
more races — they had planned to retire her if she didn’t do well in the race.
We will see what happens.

Tap the Gavel sure made my day along with a delicious dinner cooked by a great friend. To top off the day, Beyond Brilliant (trained by our John) sure made the handicappers look silly when he won the Holywood Derby at Del Mar last evening. He shot out of the gate and never looked back! A great win for Team Shirreffs!
