Interesting side bar: Un Ojo with Trevor McCarthy on board came in second in the Withers — he was back in last and progressed up the inside to place. He apparently is a one-eyed horse. I was pulling for him!

I didn’t see the live running of the Toboggan Stakes, but I just viewed the replay. Wow!! Drafted was amazing — that was some come- from-behind run! I am happy for the 8 year old Drafted and for his trainer, David Duggan, who was long overdue for a stakes win.

One more congratulatory shout out to It’s All Relevant with Jose A. Gomez aboard and trained by Rudy Rodriguez. This 9 year old chestnut son of Hard Spun (Ender’s Sister by A.P. Indy) ran his heart out in Race 5 today at the Big A trying to win gate to wire only to be overtaken in the stretch by Direct Order and Manuel Franco. It’s All Relevant ran very fast fractions, too. He had to settle for second, but he was the stand-out in the race. What a warrior! Congrats to Direct Order (the favorite) and all connections.

What a disgusting despicable mess! Seems there is a prevalence of having the “foxes in charge of the henhouse”. Are there no honest caring humans in the business anymore? I think everyone of these people should be doing time, for a long time. At the very least, they should be ashamed of these actions — actions that horses should Never be subjected to. It’s evil!
I hope the HISA will survive and that those who want to block it will fail miserably.

I also was wondering how far past a due date can a mare go without getting worried. Spanish Bunny was scheduled to foal the 2nd of this month but hasn’t yet. I also read about it being rainy where most of you folks live. How about sending a few thousand gallons this way, we really, really need water out here. My post from 3 days ago apparently didn’t come through. I’m not going to do it all over again except to say I agree with everybody. I also wanted to say Congrats to HORSE OF THE YEAR: KNICKS GO! I also was wondering how far past a due date can a mare go without getting worried. Spanish Bunny was scheduled to foal the 2nd of this month but hasn’t yet. I also read about it being rainy where most of you folks live. How about sending a few thousand gallons this way, we really, really need water out here. Good Night and Sweet Dreams to all 2 and 4 footed friends.

Yes, I agree with Ann that Shipsational (try saying that 3 times!) was really coming on strong at the finish. He came from way back to take second.
