Z's Diary

Diary Post #214

OH MY!

Hello Everyone,

In life, we all have things that don’t always go as hoped or planned. I am not any different than anyone else. At Lane’s End, they did a recheck on me today and discovered that I am no longer in foal. Just as with humans, horses also have this type of thing happen.

I am feeling terrific! I am totally looking forward to becoming a MOM in the future. I want everything to be perfect when that time comes!

With Love,
Hugs to ALL~
Z

This has to be a lie because
Zenyatta’s next major ultrasound examination is likely to take place 40 to 42 days after her mating, around April 4-6.

Oh No!! I’m so sorry..these things happen. But as long as you’re OK, that’s the important thing. I hope everything is fine and you can have babies in the future without any harm to you my Queen. Will tests be done to be sure it’s safe for you to try again?

You are right dear Zenyatta, you are no different than many with first time pregnancies that just don’t take “hold.” You are so perfect in every way, be secure in knowing you WILL BE A MOM, and a GREAT MOM. We love you even more.

It is okay baby girl. Sometimes things happen like that-just as long as you are healthy and happy and running around having a good time. All will be fine, and you can have a foal down the road. Hugs and Kisses to you! xxoo

So sorry sweetheart! It is still early in the breeding season. Mother Nature knows best and I am sure as the weather turns warmer, you will have success in becoming a mother and having a full term foal. So sorry for everyone involved.

I already posted but had an additional question. What made them check you again since they just checked you? Were there any alarming signs that prompted the check?

Awww, sweetie… not to worry! You just need a little time to let your body recover from being the fantastic racehorse you were! If you were given anything like “Regumate” or similar “heat inhibiting” products while you were racing, it can take up to a year for all of it to leave your body. I hope your owners give you a little more time to just relax, you will get in foal and stay in foal easier that way. Sending a BIG ((HUG)) your way….. xxx

Karina Bussell, showing a new video this morning under Zenyatta`s #213 Diary Post on FB, wrote the perfect coda at its end, before DP #214. It says, “From the heart, hoping all this love reaches you.” .. . To A Precious Girl & All Your Connections, Love From This On-Going Page.

Dear Zenny – I love you beautiful girl – all things happen for a reason. I too had a pregnancy that didn’t take hold many years ago. But I am happy to say that I have a 23 year old daughter now. You will be the best mom when the time is right for you. I love you and your family. All the best sweet girl.

I just read a comment about the breeding being too soon after her racing career ended. I so do NOT agree with that comment. As has been the case from the moment this beautiful girl hit the ground running, EVERY decision that has been made about her and for her has always been calculated to the Nth degree by a TEAM of professionals. Every possible minute detail was covered in making the decision to breed her at the point she was bred. Can we all just take a moment, pause, express our thoughts in a kind and compassionate way as opposed to any negativity? It didn’t happen for Z this time and yes it is a disappointment to her fans but nothing compared to what Team Z is experiencing right now. This girl, Zenyatta, is a gift to everyone that should be cherished. If she is meant to be a Mom, it will happen for her. My thoughts are with ALL at Team Z and I wish only the best for every single member of that Team and especially for Z.

Very sorry, sweetie … it does happen and usually for a very good reason … I lost a baby between my two boys at about 5 weeks along … hugs to you gf! So, what do they do now? How soon can you try another session with Bernardini? Hope you don’t have to wait ’til next year as it’s still early in the breeding season (I have a feeling that that is why they bred you early in the season). Again, sweetie, hugs to you … and extra treats! Love you! :)
