Happy Wednesday, Everyone!
This is TOO CUTE! Here are my 2 very special friends, Carmen and Michelle, drawing the SWEET SIXTEEN cards. These people will advance to the next level of the ZENYATTA BRONZE CONTEST! I must say, I just love the fact that I’m dancing right over Carmen’s shoulder while all of this is happening! I feel like I’m really participating in all of these activities right along with YOU and my BARN 55 Friends!
As you can see, these girls are really following directions. Carmen has her head turned away from the bucket and Michelle’s eyes are closed tight. Each one drew out 8 cards. What FUN! And, of course, there was NO PEEKING!
Here are the names of the 16 people who will move on to the ELITE EIGHT!
1. Heidi Kruckenbert……………..Vallejo, CA
2. Louann Cingel…………………..Union, MO
3. Valerie Franklin…………………Davison, MI

Congratulations to ALL 16! It is also interesting to note the number of different states represented at this level. The next step will be the Elite Eight. Those cards will be drawn at the end of this week.
This is getting exciting!
Have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

So sad – my name isn’t there but it’s been so exciting to have had my name in the 64 and 32. My very best wishes to all of the 16 and thanks to Team Zenyatta for giving us all a chance to participate in such an amazing event. Good luck Zenny in your progress towards motherhood. Love from Brenda (and Victoria} in Canada.

I’ve recently found ‘the’ name for Queen Z’s foal…..it’s “Pisteuo”….which means to believe with hope. Perfect. And it works for either sex. Beautiful word.

Hi Sweet Z, hope you’re having a fabulous day with your pals. Love you and miss you at Barn 55. Congrats to the Sweet 16, especially my fellow Californians, and a special nod to Dawn.
@LS – I know you’ve had to repeat yourself several times re no visits to LEF, but to your credit you always give great info in those repeats. I’ve read them all and you never fail to educate. Great job.
@Dawn –

@Karen Mitchell, a DVD of Zenyatta’s races was given away at the Breeders Cup in November (not including the 2010 BC, obviously). That may be the disk in question. You might see if one is for sale on Ebay. Alternatively, I suppose you could make your own DVD for personal use. All her races are available on YouTube.
Margie
P.S. @Dawn – I put my message to you in the body of the email – sorry if it looks like I left you hanging! :-) I’m off to watch some Zenny race videos – see you all later!
Linda Henderson
Incredible! I feel like dancing. I think I will. Happy Day!

Congratulations and now onto the next level. Like Zenyatta, I too am excited.
Love you Zenyatta!

Z I didn’t make it into the sweet. Time to take a page from the others who set a wonderful example. I never noticed one person wishing the others anything less than good luck. So I will do the same. And wish all the very best of luck moving forward. Thanks to everyone who set such a wonderful sporting example.
Janie
@ Karen Mitchell – I have a DVD of Zenyatta’s first 14 races that I got for free at her “first” retirement event at Hollywood Park in November 2009. Then when I was there for her “final” retirement event last December, they were selling them for $10. I don’t know who has all 20 races on one DVD (I taped several from last year so I think I have all but 2 total), but Hollywood Park might be a place to try…

@ L.S. said about visitations at Lanes End –
Lanes End is not doing this to be mean to her fans. They are doing what is necessary for her health, her potential journey to motherhood and also the health and welfare of the many, MANY other mares and foals entrusted to their care.
THE.HORSE.COMES.FIRST!
Thank you L.S. for pointing this out. We all love Zenyatta so we just have to be patient and hope all goes well for her. Marilu

Congrats to the 16 finalists! Very exciting indeed!
Have a good night, sweet Zenny!
Love to all,

Thanks for the great info on why LEF is not taking visitors. In part, this may also explain why we don’t have a lot of current pics and videos. People are just too busy with foaling and stud duty to not only take pics but to upload them.
Sorry if this sounds nitpicky but think about it for a moment. You own a valuable mare and are boarding her at LEF. You pay a lot of money to them each month for her care and for someone to watch out for her and her possible babe.
LEF is doing the best they can. The HORSES do come first. No matter what each of their needs are–THEY COME FIRST.
I’m certain that the more we harass them the more LEF will just throw up their arms and tell us to shove off.
Perhaps a few REAL SERIOUS posts about what could happen would be helpful We need to place this someplace where everyone can be directed to. I would want this blog to remain positive for Z for her possible pregnancy (whenever that happens), her connections.
PLEASE DON’T CALL LANE’S END FARM ASKING TO VISIT. THEY WILL ANNOUNCE IT WHEN AND IF IT CAN BE ARRANGED.
Margie
Zenny, you have over 75,000 friends on your Facebook page. You’re one popular girl, that’s for sure! You can share this info with your girlfriends; I’m sure they’ll be excited about being BFF’s with someone so special. Love you, Horse of my Heart.
The Giacomo story and video at The Vault is wonderful – thanks for that.
Debbie
Congrats to the sweet 16! How exciting it is getting. Hope you are having a great spring, Zenny.
@L.S. & Kathryn, thanks for reiterating the need to keep Zenyatta safe, relaxed, and happy. It is tough not being able to see her anymore, but the Mosses have been so generous her whole life and continue to do all they can to keep us up on her retirement life without putting her at risk!
Heidi Kruckenberg
I am sooo excited, I made it again!!! I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed for the next drawing and good luck to the other 15 picked!
Yes, we want to know when your next date with Bernie will be.
Isn’t it wonderful how so many people from so many walks of life, have become blogging budies and friends because of Queen Z!!! I love you Z and stay happy and healthy big girl! Hugs and peppermint kisses.
Debbie

Such a cute “drawing team”…:D
Good luck to all “The Sweet”…
Sixteen would be quite a horserace — where shall we go to place our bets?

What will happen to all those postcards?
How many person-hours of inspired labor do they represent?
How many furlongs would they stretch if laid end to end, or how much of the walls of the ladies’ lounge would they cover if used as wallpaper?
How thick would the book be, at 6 cards per page?
Of course, if it was a virtual book (ebook), it could be very light & small…

Oops … meant to add “hint, hint”…;)

Too Cute! Thank you for sharing this post and the picture! good luck to all :)

I’m not even in the contest, yet I can hardly stand the suspense. Wish there was a statue for every one of Zenyatta’s devoted fans.
Good luck to all!

CONGRATS to those who now move on to the sweet 16! We are thrilled for each of you. Zenny, we loved the pic of your CA “peeps” doing their thig to draw the postcards. Too cute as our Dottie would say. @LS, thanks for commenting on why we can’t see Zen right now. IF visits are allowed in the future it will be done with everyone’s interests in mind as it should be.
Kathy Kimber
Go HEIDI, I see your still in the sweet sixteen, congrats to you and the other 15.
Yesterday’s picture is so great. The horses head, the rainbow for the bridle and the shadow of the plane in the horses nostril. It’s a sign I really believe there is so such thing as coinsedense God watchs over the great Zenyatta he sent her to all of us for a reason and the Mosses in particular. Good things are coming. When she hooks up with Bernie again, if she hasn’t already it’s going to be OK this time. Rest and be well our Queen. We love you Zeny. Prayers and positive thoughts coming your way.
Vicki
With each drawing tears have rolled down my face as my name has miraculously appeared, and today I had to muffle a squeal of delight. I still can’t believe it! Thank you Zenyatta for this and for all my cherished memories of you.
Janet Cutting
Hello everyone: It is getting so exciting for the next drawing!!! Good Luck!!! In reference to visiting Zenny–I still think that after she has her baby– Mr and Mrs Moss,Team Z should take her off-site to a local park –set her up for the day with what ever she needs and have a meet and greet for a few hours. They can set up temp. fencing and hire security and there would definitely be lots of volunteers who who assist Zenny. I like the idea myself. I know Dottie and Mrs Moss will not ever forget about all Zenyatta fans who want to see her again–we just have to be patient. Hey, I dont live far –Wi –I got a big fenced in yard–come on over Zenny– Yeah,in my dreams– good thing ENSIGNS not here–What he would tell me…… Yikes. Smiles,Janet C

Congratulations to the 16 finalists…I’m so happy for all of you!

@Janet Cutting,
Good Lord willing by the time Zenyatta’s foal is weaned she will be in foal again.
