Good Morning to ALL!
Yesterday was so much FUN! The 60 MINUTES Crew was here to take photos of ME for an update they are doing. All went very well! I gather they are going to replay part of the segment they did on ME in October and then add the current updates! From what we are hearing, they will show it as part of this SUNDAY’S program!
When my paddock mates and I were out in the field playing together, I was so tempted to get down in the field and roll! Then as I was almost at that point of getting down on my knees, I saw all of the camera crews arriving and thought it would be much more fun to go over and greet all of the people. I can roll in the field anytime. So, that’s what I did! Everyone was so kind! I can’t wait to see their footage. HOPE I LOOK FABULOUS!
This is TOO CUTE! Dottie called Dawn Conrad yesterday to congratulate her on winning the contest and to set up the shipping arrangements for her prize, the ZENYATTA BRONZE! Dawn is so sweet…and so excited! Dottie did ask her to promise to share photos of her with ME so we can all get a chance to see them. She said she would do so, for sure!
My pal, ZAZU, works again this weekend for the Kentucky Oaks. Then if all is A-OK, she will be flying on the Tex Sutton plane for the race. I think this is very exciting! Wishing her well, for sure! I know Dottie is busy making travel plans, just in case, and getting licenses and fees paid in advance. Like I mentioned before, there is a whole business side to racing…and thank goodness I only had to worry about BEING AN ATHLETE! That’s also true for my other stable pals. It is ALWAYS ALL TAKEN CARE IN ADVANCE FOR US!
I gather there is a current piece written about MY BARN 55 STALL and how it still has so many of my things in it. I thought you’d enjoy reading it! Here it is!
Have a fabulous FRIDAY!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

How many other horses have ever been featured on 60 Minutes? Even after they have officially been retired? That speaks volumns about the renown and longevity of our Queen! On this glorious day of pomp and splendor in Britain, it was noted that the “human” queen served carrots and treats to her royal steeds on a silver platter. I cannot help but think that Lane’s End should do the same for you, Zenyatta! If your stall were lined with gold, it would not be good enough for you! Your old stall is limbued with both aching nostalgia and sweet memories by all who were privileged to visit when your shining presence somehow made the backside seem to come alive. You will be forever missed by your faithful California fans.
We watch with mounting excitement the progress of your beautiful little friend Zazu’s preparations for her biggest dance thus far. Would that you were still around to teach her some fancy steps, although we rejoice that you are so happy where you are. I have to smile when I wonder if one of Mr. ad Mrs. Moss’ criteria for choosing their horses’ trainers is that the initials be that of J.S.!

60 Minutes, Part II, how exciting Ms. Z – you are a star in my heart and always will be. It’s great to have these postings all the time so we can stay in touch with you (or you with us), just love knowing what you’re doing. I’ll keep my eye on Zazu to see what’s she does on Oaks Day, have been watching her anyway. We’ll see where it goes. Have a great day and thank you ever so much for keeping us updated.

Just read the article about your stall being held open in your honor. Whose hooves could fill that stall? Zenyatta, the article did not mention Frank Lael (I hope I spelled his name right). Is he still with Barn 55? Can’t wait for 60 Minutes on Sunday. Another video for my Zenyatta collection. Yippee!

Zenyatta~ it is you who is “too cute”. Only “you” would forego a good roll in the mud to meet and greet your visitors! Can’t wait to watch the Fabaulous Zenyatta on 60 Minutes. Go Zazu!
I love you with all my heart!

Dear Queen Z ~ did you decline your invitation to the royal wedding? You would have looked great in whatever silly hat you chose to wear (silly hats being apparently the order of the day!)
For anyone who’s interested, here is the info about the breeding and training of the Metropolitan Police’s horses, including the “Grey Guard” horses.
http://www.met.police.uk/mountedbranch/training.htm
I’m so glad to note that the Met is now open to retiring these horses when their police service is finished! Formerly they were “destroyed” on the assumption that no one would be able to provide the style of care to which they had become accustomed.

How exciting! Instead of a steady stream of the “Royal Wedding” we will be seeing THE QUEEN on 60 Minutes. Your loving fans wait anxiously.
Love you Z

So sweet of you to not roll in the mud but you are beautiful even muddy Sweet Girl! When I fell so in love with you and started following you and the sport it awoke a passion inside of me. I am 47 years old and I don’t think I ever realized what real passion was until then…I think you and all thoroughbreds are one of God’s most beautiful creatures. I live in NW Arkansas and I never took the time to travel and go to the races until YOU. A couple of weeks ago my daughter’s and I went to Oaklawn to the Apple Blossom and the Arkansas Derby. While there my husband bought me the Hail to the Queen print and Reflections by Frank Stone book. You are sitting in my dining room as I write this: ) Then Sunday morning before we came home I visited the Racehorse Reclaim hoping to make arrangements to adopt an OTTB in the future. After talking with Miss Deb for about 10 minutes she looked me in the eye and said she had the perfect guy for me..she walked him out of the barn to me and he put his forehead up against my chest…tears fell and it was instant love. He was delivered to me 6 days later. That was 6 days ago! He is 3 almost 4, never raced just trained..guess it wasn’t for him so he had to go. Miss Deb saved him and 3 weeks later I came along and now he has a family and a forever home. Thank you Zenyatta! Because of you I decided to take a chance and reach for my dreams..and they came true. I owe it all to you and I will love you 4-ever! Thank you! My other big dream is hoping that someday…I can have the opportunity to visit you, look in your eyes and thank you in person for all you have done for me…I pray for that everyday. You are the best! Love to all and thanks for all you do!

Zenny- i’ll bet alot of 60 minutes’ guests aren’t as gracious and welcoming as i’m sure you were! can’t wait to see the show! i can imagine that all your california family (and fans) miss you so much. i hope they get to visit you. i feel sure you don’t forget anything or anyone! we are in their debt for taking such great care of you- and loving you because i think that makes all the difference with a horse’s well-being, don’t you? hope you got a good, muddy role in after your interview!
@ AMANDA G: so glad to hear from you! very grateful that you and your pet children are okay. so sorry about your sister-in-laws family’s house. you all are in my thoughts and prayers.
