Good Morning to ALL!
Yesterday was so much FUN! The 60 MINUTES Crew was here to take photos of ME for an update they are doing. All went very well! I gather they are going to replay part of the segment they did on ME in October and then add the current updates! From what we are hearing, they will show it as part of this SUNDAY’S program!
When my paddock mates and I were out in the field playing together, I was so tempted to get down in the field and roll! Then as I was almost at that point of getting down on my knees, I saw all of the camera crews arriving and thought it would be much more fun to go over and greet all of the people. I can roll in the field anytime. So, that’s what I did! Everyone was so kind! I can’t wait to see their footage. HOPE I LOOK FABULOUS!
This is TOO CUTE! Dottie called Dawn Conrad yesterday to congratulate her on winning the contest and to set up the shipping arrangements for her prize, the ZENYATTA BRONZE! Dawn is so sweet…and so excited! Dottie did ask her to promise to share photos of her with ME so we can all get a chance to see them. She said she would do so, for sure!
My pal, ZAZU, works again this weekend for the Kentucky Oaks. Then if all is A-OK, she will be flying on the Tex Sutton plane for the race. I think this is very exciting! Wishing her well, for sure! I know Dottie is busy making travel plans, just in case, and getting licenses and fees paid in advance. Like I mentioned before, there is a whole business side to racing…and thank goodness I only had to worry about BEING AN ATHLETE! That’s also true for my other stable pals. It is ALWAYS ALL TAKEN CARE IN ADVANCE FOR US!
I gather there is a current piece written about MY BARN 55 STALL and how it still has so many of my things in it. I thought you’d enjoy reading it! Here it is!
Have a fabulous FRIDAY!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Can’t wait to see your on 60 minutes this Sunday. Nice article on your Barn 55 stall as a shrine to you…I can imagine everyone still missing you, kind of like when your kids “leave the nest”, you still go into their room, sit and remember them in your mind. Sort of bittersweet!!! Have a wonderful day, Zenny!

Hi Zenny,I cant wait to see 60 munites Sunday. You are really a wonder when you get 60 munites to have you on the program for the second time. That is a real honor. It is real nice to see that barn 55 has made a shrine of your stall for you. I’m sure it helps make them feel a little better to do that. They all really miss you. I wish there would have been a way that you could have stayed in S. Calif. at least you would be close to visit and just knowing you were here somewhere would help missing you so much.I can still pray that you come back to us even tho I know that it is more than highly unlikely. I’m glad that you stayed clean for your visitors and their camera’s. I saw a picture of you dirty with mud,not so good. Have fun and have a great weekend. Love you Zenyatta.

Dearest Sweet “Z”,
So glad to see you again today! Thank you for the great photo of your ‘royal’ self. Looking forward to seeing you on 60 minutes…even though that is never enough time for sweet Y.O.U.
…….
Amanda G. I left you a note on #233
Shanda H. Thank you for sharing your horse story. It sounds as if you had a true Easter Surprise! What is his name, your guy? Congratulations on your new love story with him. My “Z” story is similar to yours. We decided to go to the SA Derby on Easter Sunday for the first time three years ago and Zenyatta was racing that day. Of course, she won and for us..the secret was out! We were blessed to be able to see the rest of her races and were naturally captured by her charm, grace, beauty, gentleness and of course “God-Speed!” She is a life-changer in her own unique way. Sounds like you have a beautiful picture of her too :)

@Amanda Gilliland–I am so glad to hear that you and your household were not hurt in the storm! This is a huge relief to me. It is sad to hear about the loss of home suffered by members of your sister-in-law’s family and by so many others too.
DJ
P.S. “Z”,
Almost forgot to wish ‘your’ Mikey and pal Sarbonne good luck tomorrow at Hollywood Park. Go #7 in the 7th!

Dear Zenny, Let me tell you what Charlotte Farmer was too modest to tell you herself. I was intrigued by her post on #233 about the racehorse Noor and how John Shirreffs took care of him at Loma Rica, so I googled Noor and found an article on the Sierra Foothills Report about how Charlotte Farmer has long championed Noor’s memory and is fighting to keep his burial spot from being destroyed by a development project. I remembered Noor’s name from The Blood-Horse’s 1999 “Top 100 Racehorses of the 20th Century,” where he ranks #69. In the article I also learned Noor set three world records, beat Citation, and was owned by Seabiscuit’s owner Charles Howard (as Terry Crow posted, too). http://sierrafoothillsreport.com/2010/03/23/famous-racehorse-idd-where-loma-rica-project-going/
@Charlotte Farmer— Kudos to you and please keep us posted about your efforts to preserve Noor’s burial site.
Pam Zacek,
I can t wait for 60 minutes, you were sure funny, wanting to roll , then thought you should greet them like a real Queen, Hoofs crossed, I love that, one, and I for one, won t miss this segment of you, on 60 minutes, I hope all is well at Lanes end, and weather, is not interfering, in a lot. Can t wait to see Dawn and you, I bet that will be great, keep playing in that field, with all your buddies…

WHAT A WONDERFUL PIC. DEAR JOHN HAS THE NICE COLLECTION OF YOU. THANKS TO DOTTIE AND THE TEAM FOR ALL THE UPDATES. I SAW DOTTIE AND MR MOSS ON TV YESTERDAY, TVG HOLLYWOOD PARK. IT WAS SO NICE TO SEE THEM. IT REMINDED ME OF ZENYATTAS RACING DAYS. WE WILL LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ON 60 MINTUES. LOVE TO ALL. SHERRY D. WV.

What a day! First the royal wedding, which was absolutely beautiful and second your visit from the 60 Minutes crew. I am glad you decided to wait to roll and instead went over to greet your guests, that’s the lady in you! Christine of VA equated you with Marilyn Monroe, which is great, but Marilyn was a blond. I chose Catherine Zita-Jones for her classic beauty and eligance which reminds me of you. The camera never lies and beauty does reveal itself.
Soon the Derby will be upon us with the singing of “My Old Kentucky Home,” mint juleps, beautiful hats. amd the sheer excitement of the day. Two days before the Derby PBS will be airing “The History of the Thoroughbred.” Should be interesting to watch. Finally, Happy Birthday Barbaro, rest in peace; you are not forgotten. Love you Zenyatta!
Sue
Hi Z girl,
I love Zazu she is like a grey version of you. I hope she wins too. We have to watch out for Mike he is riding a very nice horse. On another note have you ever had a blueberry? I am going to a blueberry festival tomorrow. We Floridians have all of the great fruit festivals. I know blueberries are small but you should try some. They are very yummy. love ya

Hello Zeny! Can’t wait to see you in 60 minutes. So happy you will have visitors soon.
I thought the Cavalry and the coaches of Queen Elizabeth made the Royal Wedding Parade fabulous. Nothing like that anywhere else. The horses and soldiers looked fantastic in their uniforms! They brought so much class to the occasion. That’s why you, Zenny, and your four legged friends are so classy and beautiful to look at. Love and Hugs to you! Marilu
Good luck to Zazu if she is ready. Checked the Kentucky Oaks website and she is listed.
Good luck to John and Mr. Commons if he makes it next week. I am sure they have a jockey in mind if he goes. He is in good hands!
All my love and hugs to you Zeny

Hi Zenny, I can’t wait to see the new footage of you on 60 Minutes! You always look fabulous so I don’t think you need to worry about that. You look stunning even when you have mud on you.
I hope Zazu works well this weekend and safely makes it to Kentucky for the Oaks. It is just too bad that your pal Mikie doesn’t ride her too. I hope you have a nice evening, sweet girl.
Love to all,
Leslie

Glad to hear you had a good time visiting with the 60 Minutes crew, Z! Can’t wait to see it air on Sunday! I will definitely record it so I can watch it repeatedly. :D I am also very excited to see Dawn with her mini YOU! TOO CUTE! Have a great weekend Z! Miss and love you!

Zenyatta,
Can’t wait to see you & the gals on 60 minutes. Dottie is such a wonderful business manager. You all are so lucky to have her :) Good luck Zazu.. See you on Sunday Big Mama :)
Vicky
Love you Zenny! Just wondering….are you beeing bred again this year, have you already been bred again? Just curious if we’re gonna see a little ‘Zenardini’ soon, or not :D
Sharon Call
@Shanda Hooten. What a wonderful story. You were in the right place at the right time to find your boy and have him find you. A true love story. I wish with all my heart that I could do that. I’d love to have a horse again but finances, age, health all tell me that I’m better off sublimating through the people on this site. Congratulations and good luck. Keep us posted on how things are progressing with you two.
@Lisa g. I hope Mr. Commons makes it too. Since Mikey is slated to ride Twinspires, I wonder who John would get for a jockey?
Sharon Call
@Trina Nagele. I read the article in the link you posted and immediately had to Google Noor to see if I could learn anything else about this interesting horse. I don’t know if you saw this or not but, if you didn’t, check out this article.
http://horseandman.com/horse-stories/the-famous-racehorse-noor-and-things-that-go-bump-in-the-night/
It’s really interesting and has left me wondering if anything has happened since this article was written in February of this year. I think I’ll go roaming on the Internet and see if I can find anything else on him. Thanks for the link.

Zenny, WOW! 60 minutes sure knows how SPECIAL you are to come and film you again. Only the very best of the best get a second “interview” with them. We laughed reading how you decided not to roll in the mud but chose to greet your visitors instead. That’s why you are the QUEEN!
We’ll be rooting for Zazu, too.
Any friend of yours is certainly a friend of ours. Sleep well tonight, beautiful girl.
