Good Morning,
I can’t believe how quickly the time flies by. The Preakness is now over and on to the Belmont Stakes. I would like to congratulate the winner, Shackleford, and all of his connections on this victory. He ran a wonderful race, attended the pace the entire trip, and finished with true desire! My pal, Mr. Commons, ran a nice race from the 14 post. He also lost a shoe during the running. He came out of it in good order and is back home in California. He was already out relaxing and grazing this morning at Barn 55.
John and Dottie are also back in California! They are so, so impressed with how many people in Maryland stopped them to ask about ME! I’d mentioned this the other day to you, but more and more people continued to come up to them and share their ZENYATTA STORIES! Dr. Grayson from Florida really touched their hearts. Then yesterday, while Dottie was leaving a church in Baltimore, Betsy, a woman who worked at the church, stopped to visit. She told Dottie and John that she and her friends read My Diary each day. She also commented that she has 2 photos in her office at the church: one of her husband and one of ME! This is TOO CUTE! I really can’t tell you how this makes me feel. Per Betsy, “I was very instrumental in UNITING people and uniting the sport.” What a kind thing to say! I must say, I am truly blessed to have so many endearing and supportive friends!
On another TOO CUTE note, several people were also telling them that their license plates have MY NAME on them. One friend, Candy, received her plates as a birthday gift from her friends. They just arrived and are on her car driving around Lexington as I’m writing this. She sent Dottie this photo to share with all of you! If you see her driving around, please give Candy a big wave and a HIGH HOOF for ME!
With love,
Hugs to All~

Too Cute !!!! Zenny and Sea the Stars.
When Zenny was going to retire in 2009
After BCC. There was a article about her retire-
mention and John Sherriffs made a comment
That he would like her first date to be with Sea
The Stars. I guess the Irish are preparing for the
Meeting. Perhaps the Shiek with his many
Connections can bring Sea the Stars to the US
For a season at Stud. Hummmm where would he
Reside?????
barbara
dear zenny,
this is funny, today on my way home from work i was thinking about having to renew my license plate and that florida recently started offering one with a horse on it. any how, i’m just driving along picturing how cool this plate would look with your name on it:)
thanks so much for keeping us informed and part of the “family”. love you
nancy

Hi Zenny girl! I must say your friend, Mr. Commons is anything but common! He is one fabulous looker! I would only expect you to have “friends” as lovely as yourself. I would be hot to trot for him..however, apparently you have been spoken for! And good luck with that..wink, wink..!
love, apples and carrots, and baby blankets,

@Terry Crow – your comments about the 2009 BC Classic bring back my memory of being there!! I don’t think there was anyone of the about 52,000 people in attendance who wasn’t screaming ZENYATTA as she took command on the home stretch. I was jumping up and down, pounding my cousin on the back and screaming at the top of my lungs – all at the tender age of 66!! What an amazing race. Once in a lifetime! Until today — my favorite license plate was “CBISKIT” seen at Ridgewood Ranch in CA. I have such a soft spot in my heart for the ‘Biscuit since he and Laura Hillenbrand really brought me to thoroughbred horse racing — and ZENYATTA!!

I have two photos of you on my bulletin board at work (one of them is of YOU and ME together!) and today one of the students waiting in line to check in her textbooks said “Wow, that is a beautiful horse!” It made me smile during a stressful day — the power of Zenyatta! :)
Maggie
Hi Zenyatta!! I am one of your fans with your name on my plates! I have ZENNY on my Ohio plates!! I posted a photo to your Facebook fan page when I first got them! I tend to drive a little bit fast..and always think of you running fast!! Love and hugs to you and Dottie…
Celeste
Beautiful photo and I love that license plate photo as well – it is indeed – too cute! Thanks to Judy I checked out that halter auction and it is going so high – what a wonderful donation it is going to be for charity! Zenyatta – you always come through!!
Thank you once again for this little slice of Zenyatta time to recharge my batteries and clear my head so I can get ready for bed with a happy heart. thank you!
Sunny Boyd
Good evening Zenyatta,
so glad you’re doing okay and having a great month of May, which is flying by.
People know you, Sweetie, no matter where, when & who :) :) :)
Well, have a good night and restful dreams

Just to let Z that we are thinking about you.
KIMBERLY
Z. Love that license plate. How proud she must be to have it. It is a pleasure to have your name on ANYTHING!!!

So many great posts and links as always. I had mentioned earlier Sea the Stars as a hopeful future date for Zenny, didn’t know John also felt that way.
@annie – would love to see if you could post a link to your picture of “Zenny and Sea the Stars” in Ireland. That would be a fantastic “love connection” in Zenny’s future.
@the Preakness – great race, may try to get to Belmont to see AK, Mucho, Shackleford, Nehro (and Mr. Commons?). He looked so very healthy, as you always did and do. Would be so thrilled to see Dottie and John. Didn’t know about his shoe – would someone here also explain about “glue ons”, I was not familiar with them until Mucho lost his.
@ WINKS – Colt/Filly announcement for the Belmont would be lovely!!!
@ Mike – our Zen ambassador will surely be loved there as he is here.
@ Sunny Boyd – I saw a photo of a woman helping at the hospital near Joplin, her last name was Boyd and she had pretty (sunny) red hair. If that was you, hope all is well with your friends and family.
Again, have to catch up on all the great posts – thanks everyone. Can’t wait for more.

Pretty picture, Zenny! Your dapples are still in “bloom”. I’m glad everyone had a safe trip back to California. Love, ya!

@Shari Volz: We didn’t hear from you (or Brooke) today and we usually do! Hope all is well-I’m sure the end of the year is so hectic!

Good Evening Queen “Z” Another great photo of you! Nice license plate. I would love one, but unfortunately not a lot of abbrevations. However, I thought about painting my car pink and green. Ha! Ha!
Sorry to hear about Mr. Commons. Good News is he is okay. I also heard Mucho Macho Man threw a shoe as well. If I were that trainer I think I would have a talkin to the man whose doing my shoes!
Gary Moulton, thanks for the link on Mike. Always like to keep up to speed on where and what he is doing.
Stay safe.
Hugs and Kisses

@Sharon in Seattle and Terry Crow: You’re both absolutely on target about the 2009 Breeders’ Cup—I was there–had won tickets on local radio show–and we just coud not stop jumping and and down and screaming. What a thrill!!! As Trevor Denman said, “one we’ll never forget.” Queen Z, love that license plate! And good for you @ Maggie in Ohio. We have friends whose license plate reads R TIZ NOW. Guess who they were gaga about a few years back? (Mine says FROG HOP, but that’s another story!):) If I may go on a tad longer, before the Preakness gets too far in our rearview mirror, my two amusing brief stories are: #1: after the race was over this couple a few rows in front of us (at Hollypark) were delirious in their joy at Shackleford’s win. You would have thought it was our QUEEN Z who had won. Well, after they left, running and laughing like crazy, we came to find out that their last name is–you guessed it–Shackleford!! Even I had to smile at that, and I was feeling a little down at the moment. So, I hope the Shacklefords bet a bundle. #2: a friend in NC was watching the NBC broadcast, knew we were at the track and called to say Astrology had the same birthday she did–March 17th–so I was to place a bet for her. Which I did–and she got some money–or she will. And @ Jamie and Elaine, I liked the Millionaire story, too. Sweet dreams Queen Z. Happy third week of May. :)
Cathleen
Dear Z, I’m in Florida and my plate is ZENYATA. I love it! It too was my birthday present (to myself! LOL!) Whenever I walk to my car and see my plate it just makes me happy and I feel good all over. But I don’t drive my car as fast as you run — troopers in FLA don’t have a sense of humor. :))) xoxox Cathleen

Hi Zenny Moss-Shirrefs-Mario-Smith-Bernardini-Coleman! I’m glad you enjoyed the Preakness. Poor Mr. Commons! He drew a horrible post position, and loses a shoe as well! He is still a blessed horse because at the end of the day, he went home to be with “your John.” We know that “Your John” would not be angry at Mr. Commons or show any disappointment to him. We know Mr. Commons would be treated as if he were a Champion and HOY!
Stay happy my beautiful Zenyatta and enjoy every day of your life beautiful girl! I love you, Zenny
Cathleen
If I remember correctly, Ann Moss had a pin or a bracelet of a Z for Zenyatta and there was going to be something offered to fans to buy. Anyone heard any more about that?
Barbara Wood
Dear Z– for once I’m going to join in and say TOO CUTE for words! I can’t wait to check out the license plate frame. Sleep well, dear girl. Love you always.

Dearest Zenny, the serious profile photo above is just beautiful!!!! A study in character!! All horses are beautiful, but you, Zenny, are so classically beautiful that each photo of you makes me love you more.
A little bit of news from the East…Monmouth has reopened and I was very worried that having a private owner would hurt the track after it was abandoned by New Jersey’s governor this year. The card has been cut in half, which also made me jittery. So I talked to the ticket sellers and all of them said that the fellow who bought Monmouth wanted to buy it 4 years ago, is a local who spends a lot of time with the workers, who adores horses, and who has the best interest at heart for Monmouth. Wow, did that make me feel better! I pictured a Simon Legree, and here the workers there are telling me they are happier than ever with him there.
Little success story for thoroughbred racing in the East.
Take great care of yourself, Zenny!!!! Look how many of us adore you!!!!!!!!!!
Love

Great idea for a location for your Z bronze, easily petable. Also,
lucky to get photo of Zen, Mario and Carmen. How special. Did you get it from the day they visited LE? Lucky you to be so close to the Queen.

While I do not have a Zenyatta vanity plate, I wanted to tell you, Zenyatta, that I did name one of my bicycles after you! You see, I am an avid cyclist, and I ended up purchasing a very fast and very superb bicycle last year. Who better to name it after than the fastest, most beautiful racehorse who ever put four hooves on the track (that’s you!).
monica
dear sweet zenyatta! so very happy to hear you are doing good! i have been worried about you with the bad weather back there… i pray you and all your horse and human friends stay safe – we still think about you all the time – and smile every time we do! we love you forever! your friends in california, monica and jim

I’ve searched and searched for articles on the Queen’s (The other Queen) visit to Coolmore. Apparently she made an unpublicized private visit to Coolmore and to the Aga Khan’s Gilltown Stud. Maybe she didn’t want to make the Sheik mad, LOL.
.
Anyway here is a little info.

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta,Very Nice Photo of YOU. Lady Z, I have never seen a bad photo of YOU! Truly Blessed with good looks! Now I know that Mr. Commons lost a shoe I even feel worst for him. He had a hard race from the post he drew to loosing a shoe. I think he did quite well considering all he had to deal with. I am proud of him anyway. Please tell him. Glad he’s back home and safe. He has a bright future ahead! John will comfort him this next week and treat him special. I hope you are sleeping well & having sweet dreams of Ky Bluregrass & treats. I’m headed to dreamland with you Zenyatta when I finish here. I love you, Zenyatta & Sending Hugs & Kisses From Alabama With Love, Amanda G.

@Judy (Maass) Gadwood Adores Zenny (CA)-Thanks for the site on tag frames. I definetly want to design one to go with Zyatta’s University of Alabama tag. I think I’ll get a houndstooth tag frame. That goes with U.of Al. perfect!
