Good Morning,
I hope each of you had a wonderful, restful, and peaceful holiday! This day is also a special time to remember all that MEMORIAL DAY truly represents as well.
Everything at the farm is going very, very well. I want to share with you the fabulous day I have had so far. This morning, my vets came to check me and… YES, I am eating for TWO! As of this morning, I have had what is technically called my ’60 day check-up’. I am happily IN FOAL! All is A-OK! My pregnancy is progressing nicely and the baby has a very strong heartbeat! YIPPEE!
I must say I am so excited and so are all of my Team and Family members! This is such terrific news! Bernie and I are going to be parents!
As is the Moss’ policy, we are not going be fetal-sexing to determine if the foal is a colt or filly. My owners never do this with any of their mares. Part of the fun, in their opinion, is the anticipation. We will wait and BE SURPRISED!
Now, I’m off to graze and enjoy the rest of the day! I’ll fill you in on more details as we go along! Thank you so much for all of your understanding and patience the last few months on this topic! I so appreciate your kindness and support!
I’m sending each of you a HIGH HOOF! IT IS TRULY A DAY OF GREAT HAPPINESS!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Dear Queen Zenyatta –
I’m happy you kept your private matters quiet befitting the Queen that you are, and then surprised your adoring and awaiting audience with “The News”! I am imagining the whosh-whosh of the little one’s strong beating heart and wishing we ALL could hear it, like music to our ears. Isn’t it fun to wonder – boy or girl, boy or girl – and imagine the joy 9 months from now when we all find out together whether you will be needing a PINK blanket, or a BLUE one! So typically classy of the Mosses, Dottie, John, Lane’s End to stay true to nature and let things happen naturally. No matter whether a Filly or a Colt, Ms. Zenyatta, it will be a birth trumpeted like no other in the horse world – a one-of-a-kind experience for us, as you have always been.
.
Thank you, Dottie, for continuing to be the Voice of Zenyatta all these months and for being so dedicated and using the utmost good judgment in the handling of our Queen’s information. You are the best teacher of all things Equine and surely there is a special karmic reward for your generosity.

Zenny: Still have my job, but had to run down the stairs and outside and give my best Western Sceech Owl impersonation! Colt or filly, Bernardini has just successfully – um, touched the greatest and most valuable mare on the planet – YOU! No matter what he does from now on, he will never be a footnote in TB history.
Now for a really perfect ending to my day: Dawn Conrad, sweetie, please let us all know that you have gotten this news and it has elevated your spirit, and that you are okay – or working on it.

Thank-you, Dottie, for confirming what we all hoped was true. We are thrilled! I am so lucky that my dear husband gave me one of Nina’s bronzes of you so maybe all our stroking “her” helped this time.:-) Best Wishes to Team Z – a class act.

Dear Girl, Last week my cousin bought me a model of you as a lovely gift. At Christmas my daughter gave me a Zenyatta ornament. I will try to picture now your lovely form at an even lovlier stage as you carry you treasured offspring. You already appear to glow as others have noted. The maternal feelings you will have will supercede even winning races. Nothing will be greater than the first time you feel his or her movements. And you will do it all with the same warmth you have always presented. Others have said it so well that you inspire us all to tears of joy. It is because we realize that you take life with a positive and loving approach. I noticed it with each child who actually met you…..you were soooooooo gentle. Bless you for all that is good in you that inspires us to be the best that we can everyday no matter age or gender. You are America’s most treasured equine.

Take care and am looking forward to next March/April. I personally hope it’s a girl, so she is as pretty as you. Love, Nan
