Hello Everyone,
Even though I am technically ‘relaxing’ and in foal living at Lane’s End Farm…I am still one very PLAYFUL GIRL! I simply can’t resist teasing my pal, Charles, and checking out all of his pockets for treats. He did have some of my very favorites….but I had to check out so many places to find them. That CHARLES is such a tease…just like MY MARIO was!
As you can see by my guys and their clothing, it is rather warm in Kentucky now. As I am a California girl at heart, I do love the warm weather. It is perfect for me! My friends from the cooler climates are currently acclimating to it! We get to go outside for most of the day now…even into the early evening hours. It is absolutely delightful!
It also stays light later now in Lexington. So this even adds to our fabulous time outdoors. As you may remember from my time at Barn 55….I loved to just stand outside and look around. I could do this for an endless amount of time and be happy. Now, I’m getting to stay outside for most of the day…and it is very special to ME!
I also wanted to explain that Lane’s End does have a basic dress code for all of the staff to follow while on duty at the farm. It is primarily a green shirt and some type of khaki colored slacks or shorts. It is really a very attractive look…and ties in beautifully with the farm colors. That is why so often in these photos, you will see this type of apparel! I must say, my guys look great in these colors and this attire!
Plus, they have so many pockets for ME to play with and check out each day! I just love it!
Have a fun-filled Wednesday! Perhaps you can spend some time checking out many of the things you love to do most!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Hey, Z,
Love the updates…..keep them coming, and the pictures are wonderful. I can tell you that personally, I never tire of seeing new pictures of you…thousands would not be too many. Don’t know what it is about you, but just looking at your magnificence gives me a sense of well-being and being at peace….beauty is its own reward! Like Katharine Hepburn used to say, “I don’t know what ‘IT’ is, but, I have it”!! And you, dear Z have IT, in SPADES!!!
Please ask your friends at Lane’s End to send us some new videos of you. And, THANKS SO MUCH for all you, and your connections, do for us fans! You just can’t know what it means to feel like we have a direct connection to you through the updates, pictures, etc. Appreciate it so much! Big hugs. Your friend, Ann Maree

Hi Z
This must have been taken when you were on the way out to your field cause your all cleaned up!
Z probably hasn’t gained too much weight as of yet. According to the vet books you don’t really start feeding for two until the last trimester–in this case from eight months on.
There are tests you need to do on the quality of grass and hay for protein that you do–all of that goes into balancing Z’s diet. The big two are vitamins A and E.
Another interesting fact I learned was about grain. I thought you fed grain mainly for the carbs–but it’s actually a very source of protein. Who knew?
Z you look happy with your new human friends–and that’s grand. All I want for you is to be happy and content. Hopefully someday when your retired from being broodmare you’ll be moved to someplace like Old Friends or KHP where your fans can come see you.

Hey Big Mama, tell Sarah she does a great job watching and waiting for the best pics, too cute! How lucky these guys are to just hang out with you, I’d sit in the pasture on a blanket and just watch you all day.!! (Tell Charles he has nice legs.
@Deborah Richman thank you so much for the link to “Reckless” I enjoyed her story immensely. Makes me think of all that horses have done for humans in the development of this country and thru wars….we would never have done it without them….and yet some want to kill and eat them. Kudos to the Marine Corps for bringing her here after the war,and giving her such a great life, I’ve heard so many sad tales of war dogs left behind, how terrible. That would make a great and worthwhile Hollywood movie instead of all the junk they currently put out.
@Charlotte Farmer bless your heart for all that you have done for Noor’s remains I shall send a check to help. Will be going to Kentucky in Fall and will stop at Old Friends again to see his grave.
@Tammy WOW great pics you must have been so close to get those. Thanks for sharing.
Z luv and kisses on your nose

Well, Z, I don’t mean to be negative, the person who types your posts made an error. You see, you’ve trained me that when you talk about yourself, you say ME… and when I read this “It is perfect for me!” It made me realize someone else was typing for you… or that you made a typo. Who typed me instead of ME?? lol Everything you are Zenyatta… is ALL CAPS! as in BIG!
Thanks for the cheery and always informative post. Thanks to your team for keeping us all informed, for sharing your days and photos with us. I love reading about you every day.

Z you look fabulous!! I hope those treats were
Delish! I’m a California Girl too, but weird enough,
I kinda prefer colder climates if it was a choice,
But I don’t mind the warmer ones. Keep us updated!!
Love you girl!

Sue
Love you Zenyatta!!! Nice to see how happy you are!!!
Sarah Powell
Great pic – just TOO CUTE! Hope you found a pocketful of treats! I have a big gelding and he “frisks” me every day looking for treats. In the winter time, he has learned to unzip my jacket because he knows there are treats in an inner pocket! You horses are SO smart. Glad to see some new pics of you – like others hoping for a video sometime soon – there’s something about watching you move… (thanks Sarah for taking the time to take pics and post and as always to Dottie).
@ Shari V. thinking of you today.
Leslie R.
Hi Zenny, that pic is too cute!! I’m glad you are having fun and enjoying life. Lane’s End sure looks like horse paradise!
Love to all,

@Tammy — Thanks for sharing your photos. They are beautiful. We visited the Barn 55 horses the following day and stopped by Jerry Hollendorfer’s barn to meet Blind Luck for the first time. She is a very pretty chestnut and so kind, no sign of having run a big race the previous day.
