Good Morning,
I wanted to give you an update on HOW I AM DOING! I am eating very well…no surprise there…and enjoying myself tremendously. My number of treats is being monitored (as it should be) and I am drinking lots of water each day and nothing else.
As you can see, I do have a bit of a BABY BUMP. I am HAPPILY gaining a few pounds…right in the middle. As many of you may know from your own personal experiences, this is what happens when you are having a baby!
In the responses, many of you have asked about my actual breeding date. It was on April 3rd. Time is flying by so quickly. Another fun fact to note is that my paddock pal, Tasty Temptation, was also bred on the very same day. She was bred to Candy Ride and is also in foal.
Thus, Tasty T. and I have a great deal in common. We are both experiencing the exact same stages of our pregnancies together.
In looking at this photo, the clouds look amazing in the background. The sky is gorgeous…and the Kentucky Blue Grass is so lush. My friend, Matt, also looks good! He is so sweet and I so appreciate the fact that he will spend the one-to-one time grazing me like this!
As for ME, I think I look pretty terrific in this picture! (Blush, Blush) My coat looks fabulous, my dapples are glowing and I do think my overall appearance is TOO CUTE!
I’ll keep you posted and updated on what I’m doing as we go along. I’m still very busy with my friends and all of my charity work! The other day Lane’s End told ME that I recently raised $8,500 for a charity named RIDING FOR HOPE. ($2,500 for one of my halters and $6,000 for a visit with ME!)
This organization is one that “is dedicated to improving the quality of life and the health of children and adults with special physical, cognitive, emotional and social needs through therapeutic activities with the horse”. **
I am so grateful to be able to HELP!
This concept of further developing your life in the midst of having a second career, in my case…having a baby, is quite gratifying! I am really trying to use my time wisely to help others and to do my very best to MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

@Terry Crow. Is there an article or link about Dr. Gerard? I must have missed it and would like to catch up. Thanks!

@Everyone, I tried to order the bumper sticker from Zazzle, I got the order confirmation email and then received an email that they cancelled the order because of possible copyrite issues. I would like to ask Dottie if the Mosses would allow us to buy Zenyatta bumper stickers and the proceeds go to horse rescues??

Miss Z, you look just beautifl. So glad to hear that everything is going just fine. Keep up the good work. You will make a wonderful mom. Love you.

Hello my sweet, beautiful Zenny. I wish I had $6,000 so I could visit you. I’m going to Lane’s End at the end of July, but I know they won’t let me see you. I would give all the money I had if I could see you just once. That is my dream. I love you soooo much, Zenny. It really does my heart good to see you looking so happy and healthy. You (and Matt) are too cute!!! Loving you in Lexington :-)

Dear Sharon Call:
I posted an article on Dr. Gerard I found in Thoroughbred Times today. It’s just before halfway mark of postings. I posted it to Terry Crow as he had brought him to our attention earlier. Hugs, J.B.

We retroactively marked our calendar to April 3rd and are keeping track for you. High Five, or is that High Hoof for YOU.

Zenyatta, I am really glad that you are doing so well. You are taking full advantage of the nice summer weather and the Kentucky bluegrass. You are doing an excellent job of realizing the limits that you should be taking while in foal, such as limiting your snacks and drinking lots of water. I am also happy to hear that your barn mate is also in foal and that both of you are going through the same thing together. There is not that much difference between horse pregnancies and human pregnancies. You are also doing an excellent job in your charity work which helps disabled people do therapy with horses. Keep it up! You are going places! As always, a great picture of you.

Baby’s name should definitely be TOO CUTE! You are wonderful and most loved and beloved by so many. Enjoy the “mommy experience”. The Horns

Zenyatta, you are so Beautiful inside and out. Thank you for giving my day a big smile and, of course, a tear of JOY!!!

Having nor read everyone’s comments here’s a thought or two from me. Perhaps we can help Old Friends (or another charity) with a game of When Is The Baby Going To Be Born. For a dollar donation you get to pick the date of your choice. Multiple winners, well you’ll just have the piece of mind of knowing you chose the date wisely. No prizes per se. Me,I know what date I’m going with. And hay let’s make it fun. You can even choose a 3 day period–but no more than 3 days.
I know there’s something else but can’t of it right now. I’ll be back when I remember.

You look absolutely stunningly beautiful, Zenyatta! Your being pregnant looks like it agrees with you nicely. You are such a sweetheart and your little baby is going to have a wonderful mother. Nice that you have another lady horse horse friend, Tasty T. that is pregnant and exactly as far along as you. Wonder who will have their baby first, it really doesn’t matter just as long as you both have healthy and happy foals. It is absolutely amazing how you continue to help out organizations and etc. that need funds to help those in need. You have helped out so many and it is wonderful.
Tou have done so much for me and being able to know what is going on with you even at ths time in your life, is great. I apprecuate your teamZ for keeping you available for all of us who love you more than ever. And yes Zenyatta, I love you more than ever and my love just continues to grow. You mean so omuch to me!

Thanks for the update Zenyatta. You look lovely with a little baby bump. I like Margaret’s idea for a contest for charity for when your little Zenadini is going to be born! Maybe you can talk Dottie into coming up with something.

Zenny this post is so touch and sweet that I have tears in my eyes. Your are outrageously exquisite. You are a proud MOMMMY!! We are all so proud of you!!. Again want to thank the Mosses for all of the charity work. And of course without you there certainly would`nt be as much…Thank you Dottie. You`re wonderful!!! Without you what would we ever do??? Well Zenny, love you!! Lots of Big Hugs and Kisses, Alene :-)

You look beautiful, Zenny! I love watching your baby bump grow as your foal grows. You certainly have that mother’s glow about you! I’m praying that you and Baby Z have a safe, healthy pregnancy and delivery, and I’m anxiously awaiting that warm, sunny spring day when we get to see Baby Z for the first time. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll be watching Baby Z on the first Saturday in May! <3

Dear Zenny,
Really love the idea of contributing to equine therapy
organizations. Sooo very wonderful for these children
to meet and love horses, who can often touch these children
in ways that no human can. Great Effort Zenny !!!!!
It is too bad they can’t ride you. YEEEEE HAAAAA !!!!!!

You always look fantastic, yes unfortunately one can get carried away with too many treats and gain more than we should. With your Mom passing the large heart gene, you have a great chance to pass it down to your offspring. Look at Bernardini lineage he has Mahmoud and Princequillo, let’s hope it is a boy, there might be another Secretariat in the making!!!

If you didn’t get to my post I left at the end of yesterdays blog. Lets keep praying and working for Noor. I so want Kentucky to be his forever resting place we aren’t in the home strech as yet so spread the word. If you give a donation it is very important you note that it is for Noor.
If it wasn’t for Zenyatta’s site we would proably never have know. Dottie’s generosity and selflessness when it comes to this site is so wonderful. She is also so caring for all of us fans you just don’t see this very often. Mr and Mrs Moss so generous to campaign Zeny and extra year because they know she is so great and just remember she is not nor ever will be “yesterdays news”. So many wonderful ways she helps in charities.
I can’t praise Z’s family enough and because of this site. I really believe we can get the great Noor to Kentucky. So many horses are lost forever. The great Omaha, it is really a big question mark and there are other greats. We can’t go visit Citation that is such a shame. I have the book “Etched In Stone” so I can visit his grave and those other greats buried there but that is as close as I can ever get. Noor raced and beat him. No shame for Cy it happened then and now. Even Zeny lost one race. Blame! Balme who I’ve heard that name but can’t remember where (TEE HEE) At least that is how I look back at it. She won so much that day. Sorry I’m rambling but I’m an old person. TEE HEE. I’m only a private in her Army.

@Terry Crow: Hope all is well waiting for the joke of the day. Hugs. Oh yes and we would proably still be sitting in the parking lot at The Woodlands talking.

@Charlotte Farmer: After talking with you today. You are the “bomb”. This woman is awesome

You look beautiful Zenny! A big THANK YOU for all you do for charity. Enjoy eating for two. Love and Kisses.
Kathy Kimber
@Judy Berube: I’m sending mine too. He was so beautiful so huge He and Zenyatta side by side would have been something.

Hi Zenny!! You look great! But then again, you always look great. I am glad to hear you are drinking lots of water. All of us should drink more water than what we do. It is also wonderful to hear about all your good works for charities. It is important to use time wisely and now you have the time to develop new interests and make a difference. You better do it now because once your baby is born;–you are going to be very busy teaching them all about racing and teaching them your signature dance moves. Take care, Zenny! Love, Linda

Look forward to the Zenyattasphere and reading everyone’s posts. Kathy P. and I had a precious TB rescue and his ears were as cute as Z’s. Hoping someone may have an idea how we can find out his true identy in the racing world. The Jockey’s club could not because he was born in 1980. His tatoo is C0187 his color, bay. We are just hoping.
Kathy Kimber
@The Dumplings: I’m sure going to be thinking of all the fun you’ll be have on Gold Cup Day. It’s so great everyone who can needs to go. Terry that means you too. Encourage him girls. I don’t really think dumplings applies but that is OK too. We are Zenyatta’s Army and we are mighty. Have fun. Hugs for everyone

@Judy Berube and Terry Crow. Oh, my gosh. What a stupid, stupid man. He lost the care all of those top-flight race horses and wound up taking care of polo ponies. It’s just astounding to me every day what greed does to people. It makes me even more thankful for people like the Mosses and John and Dottie and the owners and trainers that really care about their horses.
On another note, I know that the link for the hearing of Veitch was posted earlier. Can’t wait to see how this all comes out. I watched the video report and, of course, it seemed to me like a whole lot of passing the buck by Veitch’s attorney. But what did I expect anyway. I hope they ban him from any racing activity any where, any time and fine the heck out of him.
Kathy Kimber
These people who abuse the priveledges they get when they are in a place of power just make me sick. They should never be allowed near horses again ever.
judy berube
To Sharon Call:
Yes, that’s exactly what seems to be the norm; pass the buck. Maybe this time will be different. We have to hope. On Dr. Gerard; he does all that wrong and then wants his ashes scattered where happy horses graze. I don’t get it. His actions and that request don’t seem like they could come from the same person. It’s like he had no sense of right and wrong. Hugs, J.B.

Dearest Z–Good night , sweet girl, and sweet baby dreams. We’re all managimg to pass the time waiting for baby, but we can’t wait to see if you’re having a colt or a filly. Whatever, he/she will be the most remarkable ever. Love you always.
