Happy Thursday,
The weather is continuing to be very pleasant here in Lexington. I am outside quite a bit these days with my pal, Tasty Temptation. We are having such a great time together and are both doing very well.
As a matter of fact, David stopped by to visit last night when leaving the office, and called Dottie and John to tell them how AMAZING I LOOK! Blush, Blush! He said my friend, TT, also looked wonderful!
One of the visitors that accompanied Jim Rome to see ME on Friday was Rex Chapman. Rex is from Kentucky and played basketball for UK as well as in the PROS. It was so much fun to visit with these guys as I really do love all sports. Being that both Rex and I are professional athletes, we have a great deal in common.
What is truly adorable…is the photo above! Rex and Jim are taking a picture of ME while Sarah is taking a picture of them. They are in their ‘let’s get a terrific photo of Z poses’. Gotta’ love this!
I would imagine, this is something which happens much more than one would think when people are taking pictures. I used to see this all of the time when I was at BARN 55. The fans would be taking pictures of ME…and MY JOHN ultimately has lots of pictures of them all taking MY picture. It just kind of happens!
As a matter of fact, the other afternoon Dottie was at BARN 55 and she noticed my little sister, Eblouissante, doing something in her stall which reminded her so much of ME! (I guess ‘E’ and I do have several mannerisms which are very similar.) In this particular instance, ‘E’ was resting her head on top of the haynet and looking around the barn watching everything going on. I used to do this, too, all of the time. In truth, I never wanted to miss a thing!
Well, at that moment, the same type of thing happened. MY JOHN captured the photo of Dottie taking a picture of “E”….just like Sarah did with Rex, Jim and ME!
So many things that happen like this just make ME smile. I would imagine if you look through your family albums and photos, you’d have several of these types of shots as well. People can be TOO CUTE in so many ways!
I hope you enjoy the photos of my pals, Jim and Rex, ME, my adorable fans,
and my darling 2 year old sister, ‘E’.
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Have a FUN DAY…and SMILE!)

That’s true, but you’ll have everybody laughing all day on the 9th, I’m sure. Have a wonderful time with the “Z Dumplings” next week. Hugs, J.B.

Wow, for several days I wasn’t able to check in daily, as usual, and I’ve fallen so far behind. There’s so much going on with everyone! I’d love to post to each Z’er, but there wouldn’t be enough room on this site – lol There’s so much good going on, mixed in with some heartaches and health issues (both human and animal). So many good works, so much to celebrate, so many prayers to offer. To all Z’ers, you are the best, and wished the very best of everything in your lives. To Zenny, who brings us all together, my love for you grows each day, if that is even possible. To Dottie, thank you will never be enough.
A happy and safe 4th of July to all!

@Charlotte Farmer: Regretably, I am a very poor reader of this diary. Long on will—short on time. Did I interpret one of your comments correctly, that Quicken Tree and Lamb Chop (tears even today) are buried at Santa Anita? I was not aware. If you ever wish to visit them and need help, I would do my best to assist. You are one of our sport’s historians, and that’s the highest compliment I can pay.

Barbara Wood, s (in San Diego), Marilu V, Lisa g — you are great picking up on so many facets of caring for horses in every life-saving & life-giving way & now for Senate bill #1176. PS: ‘Buck’ — the fine documentary — is making waves for the way of the horseman and those who love these great creatures, and all of life. [Droll humor, too].

Dearest Zenny & Team-Z,

Happy grazing. Hugs to all. Fondly, OraJean

I have a question. My sister and her daughter contacted the farm to see when they could make an appointment for a tour,(cause I am sure it is a constant interruption in their daily work) and they were told the farm is closed to visitors. How does one visit the farm then?
Anne Sawala
Z Lady, You are so beautiful and even more so in foal, I CAN NOT wait to see yours and Mr. B’s newborn!! Take care and have a Happy 4th of July!!!

You will never get to visit the farm/Z. Unless you are a Pro Sports figure, or a friend of a friend. Of course all of these visitors carry little or no germs unlike us commoners.
Perfect just what I was searching for! .
