Happy Thursday,
The weather is continuing to be very pleasant here in Lexington. I am outside quite a bit these days with my pal, Tasty Temptation. We are having such a great time together and are both doing very well.
As a matter of fact, David stopped by to visit last night when leaving the office, and called Dottie and John to tell them how AMAZING I LOOK! Blush, Blush! He said my friend, TT, also looked wonderful!
One of the visitors that accompanied Jim Rome to see ME on Friday was Rex Chapman. Rex is from Kentucky and played basketball for UK as well as in the PROS. It was so much fun to visit with these guys as I really do love all sports. Being that both Rex and I are professional athletes, we have a great deal in common.
What is truly adorable…is the photo above! Rex and Jim are taking a picture of ME while Sarah is taking a picture of them. They are in their ‘let’s get a terrific photo of Z poses’. Gotta’ love this!
I would imagine, this is something which happens much more than one would think when people are taking pictures. I used to see this all of the time when I was at BARN 55. The fans would be taking pictures of ME…and MY JOHN ultimately has lots of pictures of them all taking MY picture. It just kind of happens!
As a matter of fact, the other afternoon Dottie was at BARN 55 and she noticed my little sister, Eblouissante, doing something in her stall which reminded her so much of ME! (I guess ‘E’ and I do have several mannerisms which are very similar.) In this particular instance, ‘E’ was resting her head on top of the haynet and looking around the barn watching everything going on. I used to do this, too, all of the time. In truth, I never wanted to miss a thing!
Well, at that moment, the same type of thing happened. MY JOHN captured the photo of Dottie taking a picture of “E”….just like Sarah did with Rex, Jim and ME!
So many things that happen like this just make ME smile. I would imagine if you look through your family albums and photos, you’d have several of these types of shots as well. People can be TOO CUTE in so many ways!
I hope you enjoy the photos of my pals, Jim and Rex, ME, my adorable fans,
and my darling 2 year old sister, ‘E’.
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Have a FUN DAY…and SMILE!)

@Susan in Tn. OMG, CHESTER TROTTED!!! I am so thrilled I don’t know what to do. That’s the best news yet. He must be feeling so much better now and, obviously, he has grown attached to you. I’m glad of that – Chester needs someone to care about him. You’ve made my day. Now I’m going to sleep very well tonight. Good night, Chester, you sweet boy.

Dear Laura J.:
Just read your post to me on Diary #285. I noted that Step was entered in a race tomorrow, because I have him on my DRF Horse Watch. Assumed he would be scratched. I hope he is. This might be too premature. But if you are going to look into another partnership, I have talked to a very nice gentlemen at the partnersip Dream Team Racing Stable, Kostas Hatzikoutelis. He is Director of Sales and Marketing and part owner of Mucho Macho Man. I have talked to him over the phone and by e-mail about Jockey Eibar Coa and my husband and I being fans of MMM. The web site is Dream Team Racing Stable.com and his e-mail is Kostas@Dreamteamracingstable.com. They have some offerings on the web site and a lot more info. Hugs, J.B.

@Trina Nagele – I spoke with Steve on June 27 and he said he would do a piece; haven’t heard anything from him since. I will give him a call tomorrow or this weekend at the latest.
>>Soil from Golden Gate Fields – So far no one else seems to have anyone that can go over and get what I need. Okay, everyone, don’t laugh at what I am about to share. I have, through others, collected soil from Hollypark and Santa Anita’s winners circle. All I need is Golden Gate and the reason is, I will be placing, about 4 Tablespoons of dirt from each of the tracks in with Noor’s remains. It is symbolic, but that way the tracks that he had his greatest triumphs on will be with him always.
@Susan in TN – I am so glad Lou is improving. Will continue to pray that he is around for a l-o-n-g time. I am glad there is another Mister Ed fan.
Here is a condensed version of a story about Ed from Alan Young’s book. They were filming at the beach and as it is told when Ed has to go he has to go. Well, Alan went over to the director saying that his eyes were beginning to role back in his head which was a sign that they needed to take a break so Bamboo could do his thing. Director said were losing light just hold on to the reins and will get this done. So, Alan went back but at some point while waiting loosened his grip a little and Bamboo took off.
Set went crazy because there were filming close to a highway. Finally they found Bamboo behind the bushes doing his thing; he never could go to the bathroom in front of people. He finished and calmly walked back onto the set. Everybody jaw dropped and started laughing. Condensed version but you get the drift. From what I understand Bamboo had his own style of acting.
@Terry Crow – Love those jokes, don’t stop. I look forward to them each day along with Zenyatta’s post. I will be calling Michael Blowen tomorrow to find out how much money has come in and let everyone know. Yesterday, Burley Parke’s, Noor’s trainer, son contacted me and wanted to know how he could help. I gave him the information and it also looks like I will be bringing Noor through his city. Hopefully we will be able to meet. That will be quite a moment.

@ Abigail in Montreal—GREAT post! I never knew about the breed Canadian—and I loved the bomb-proof cap stealer (shades of Zenny and Mr. Commons!).
@Laura J—So sorry Better Step Aside has been sold basically out from under you. It’s good of you to let the new owner that you’ll still be there for Step if he ever needs help in the future. Bless you!
@Rachel—Blessings to you and your rescued TB Polo.
@Judy Maass Gadwood—Hey Killer, Mike Smith’s mount, fell over backwards and was up side down in the gate. They got him out quickly, and he walked away under his own power (thank goodness)after the vet, I believe, scratched him. Mike was not hurt.

Kimberly in Montana: Us Montana girls have to stick together, sweetie. We don’t respond when someone like Ana puts in her two bits worth of typing. That’s what she’s looking for and we don’t have to give her the satisfaction. I’m pretty near old as dirt and I’ve learned a few things around the racetrack in my life, that being one of them! Great site and love to read the comments here…..

Supermodel Zenny!!! :) Soon to be or you are the most photographed being in the world. You are too beautiful.
@Trina–thanks for letting me know about Susan’s updates and newsletter.
@Susan in TN–read your update of those wonderful boys. I will email you to get a copy of the newletter. Glad to hear about Lou’s recovery, too.
Will try to update on some of the happenings from Equestrian Inc. Still trying to do more than just empty/fill water buckets and feed. But having a great time doing that and talking to all the horses.
Have a wonderful Thursday night Zenny, Team Z and Z fans.
Lotsa love to all.

@Judy Berube, thanks for the information. Sorry about posting on #285. I had meant to post here on #286. My brain’s not working well today. I will no doubt get into another partnership. I just don’t know when. I want to get involved with a horse that will run nearby (OH, KY, or IN). I never got to meet Step in the flesh, and that is a big disappointment.

dear dear Zenny!!! you always brought the SMILES!!! on track or off, you never failed us my dear – to this day and forever more, i always smile every time i see your picture – i am blessed to have a picture taken with you – just you and me! when my husband and i visited you last year on thanksgiving day – it could have been a very sad thanksgiving for me that year, because i lost both parents during that year and it would be the first thanksgiving i didn’t spend with them – so my husband knew the one thing that would cheer me was to visit you, our dear zenyatta – and we were able to spend thanksgiving morning with you and have a picture taken too – it was one of the happiest days ever for me – i got to stroke your soft warm neck – and to this day, i look at the picture of us together and SMILE – i treasure it so much! – dear zenyatta, you made what could have been a most sad day for me… into one of the happiest i have ever spent in my life – it was a thrill to touch you and be near you – and i will be forever grateful to your dear john and team for allowing us this blessing – so thank you for the SMILES you have always brought to us – i love you a ton!! your grateful friend, monica

Hi Zenny: You’re right everybody loves taking pictures!! How exciting it must have been for Rex and Jim to visit you. How cool is that that Ebby has some of your traits. Maybe dancing runs in your family too. Lol.
@Mary M. Meek: Thanks for posting your picture. I have always wanted to go to Oaklawn Park. The picture you took of Zenny with that background is beautiful.
@The Kennedys in San Diego: I took your advise and reserved a table at the Turf Restaurant for the Gold Cup Day races. I am very excited. I hope to meet some of you CA “Z Fans.” I also made a call to Barn 55 and I am planning to go there the day before–Friday morning. I can’t wait!

Zenny…I can’t even guess how many pictures have been taken of you. There is nothing more beautiful than a couple of broodmares with their babies out grazing!
Judy G…you are so right about John Henry, One of the times I visited him at the Horse Park, his handler was telling me how John had mellowed with age. John then reached over and bite him on the shoulder! Not a mean or vicious bite just to let him know he still had attitude!
