Z's Diary

Diary Post #290

Hey, Matt! Have you heard the news? Photo by Sarah Campion

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I simply could not wait to tell Matt the news…and I gather he thought I was just being
TOO CUTE! During the last few days, Dottie has been working with Jeannine Edwards
and Amy Zimmerman from ESPN on an update about ME. They want to present this
segment on the ESPN racing broadcast this weekend.

Dottie just heard back from Amy and the piece will be aired during the Hollywood
Park Gold Cup racing program this SATURDAY on ESPN. I’m not sure of the time yet…
as so many of you live in different time zones.

I know they will have some very current photos of ME as they are being taken this
Thursday afternoon. Oh my…I must get my beauty rest…and look fabulous! Now, this is
so special!

I love visiting with my friends. We are all really GREAT PALS!

I had to stop and tell PQ about it as well. I’m such a lucky, lucky girl!

Hope you get the opportunity to watch the broadcast.

With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

Zenny, Those folks at ESPN know a star when they see her. Once again they call on YOU to bring in the numbers. How special is that! Are you going to look “too cute” for the camera? We’re giving you and your entire team a HIGH HOOF because you continue to rock the world!

Thanks for the info Zenny, I have already set up the DVD to record the program and it will be one I save!! You are looking fantastic these days and I am so glad that you have made the transistion to farm life as easy as you did. I had a feeling it would be easy for you. How come you are not a pasture mate with PQ any more? Are you trying to take it a little bit easier now that you have baby on board?

I love reading your diary posts and hearing all about your life, thank you for sharing it with your fans!

    @The Kennedys from San Diego
When I read Don Williams comment I felt the same.
I imagine that is what the agreement is to bring her
“home” to live out her days after retirement. He expressed
It as her burial with her dam For the Flag. Some folks in
The horse business really love their animals as they are
    Very special creatures.

You look so incredibly beautiful and happy, sweet Zenny! Reading your diary is the highlight of my day. (THANK YOU DOTTIE!) I’m going to set my DVR right now for your appearance on ESPN Saturday. I can’t wait to see it. I love you, Zenny! :-)

@Janet Cutting. It’s on ESPN, rather than one of the racing channels, so you should be able to get it.

Gold Cup article. While we are disappointed that Blind Luck won’t be running, it is a great field.

@judy berube Wonderful video of Sea The Stars. He is a good looking horse with alert ears like Zenyatta. I liked the way he rules in his own stall. Gilltown Stud is nice farm. The foals look great. It makes you think about what will be with Zenyatta. We must hope for the very best for her in terms of an easy birth and a healthy foal.

Gosh Almighty Zenyatta, you are looking so good these days. And am so excited that ESPN will have an update on you this weekend while they televise the Hollywood Gold Cup. I will surely be watching and I am sure that you will sparkle and shine brighter than any star up above, don’t ever have to worry about looking good sweetie! People just look at you and their hearts melt! Love you so much Zenyatta, you always make me smile!

Dearest Sweet “Z” and little “z”,

I saw the Documentary “Buck” and it was just wonderful! I highly recommend it horse and non-horse-lovers (if there could possibly be any…). Bucks Foster mother was the highlight as well as his horse :) Enjoy!
    …………………………………..
To: Mary: Good reminder. I did, and I believe many of us may have already. Kathryn C. has also written about this important topic over the past week. But it can never be enough…Thank you!!
    …………………………………..
To Terry C: Thank you. I just took off my swimming cap and now I am going to put on my chef’s hat and rustle up some vittles. Sure hope this is the last hat for the day :)

Zenny, you are such a flirt, but Matt looks as if he’s thoroughly enjoying all the attention and he obviously loves you. Again, Sarah has captured some very special moments in her pictures and LE looks beautiful, a perfect place for you and your friends to spend your days until the bumps make their appearance.
Vic and I don’t get ESPN but we have made arrangements with Vic’s Mom, who lives in Maine, to TIVO the program for us and she will bring it to Canada when she arrives next week for a couple of weeks vacation. She tells me that the program is scheduled for Saturday evening here in the East. Sadly, we will not see Inglorious run in the Prince of Wales so no Triple Crown winner here either this year – she’s going to Saratoga in August and that’s quite a long drive for us, we’d have to make it at least an overnight trip.
@ Trina, I think my secret weight would allow me to be a Dumpling and I’d love to join you all on Saturday if I lived in California. Now I know where to find you I’ll be looking out for you on the TV. As for Milwaukee Appeal going to live in Lexington, I’d move too if I could, it’s all about location, location, location.

Dearest, Zenyatta. Matt looks like he has a great laugh, you must have been tickling him. :) :) Our Dottie hits one out of the ballpark again, ESPN, on Saturday!! Yea! It will be so wonderful to see you! I don’t believe you need any beauty rest, Zenny. You are one of those gorgeous get up and go girls, a shake of the head, a flip of the tail and you’re off. I will be sure to set the TV to record so I do not miss it. Of course I also record to keep. It was so fun to see you sharing the great news with PQ. Happiness grows when shared with special friends. I know my own blossoms whenever I hear from you and Dottie. Sweet dreams. Hugs and kisses. XXXOOO

    @LauraJ and Sharon Call

Looking at the Fuego vidoes, his rider’s toes only point when he’s brought his heels up so he can touch the horse’s sides with the spurs. When he’s not asking for the extreme collection actions with the spurs, he drops his leg, his toes come parallel to the horse’s sides and he gives more of that profile I think you’re used to hearing/seeing used in English riding.
