Happy Wednesday Everyone!
I simply could not wait to tell Matt the news…and I gather he thought I was just being
TOO CUTE! During the last few days, Dottie has been working with Jeannine Edwards
and Amy Zimmerman from ESPN on an update about ME. They want to present this
segment on the ESPN racing broadcast this weekend.
Dottie just heard back from Amy and the piece will be aired during the Hollywood
Park Gold Cup racing program this SATURDAY on ESPN. I’m not sure of the time yet…
as so many of you live in different time zones.
I know they will have some very current photos of ME as they are being taken this
Thursday afternoon. Oh my…I must get my beauty rest…and look fabulous! Now, this is
so special!
I had to stop and tell PQ about it as well. I’m such a lucky, lucky girl!

Great news that we will see you on Saturday on ESPN. I will be taking my 14 year old grandson to the airport right around that time, so will definitely DVR. I saw Awesome Gem win the gold cup last year and had an exacta with him and Rail Trip! It was so much fun. You look great in the picture with Matt. Hi Lady Z, what exciting news and beautiful pics of you, Matt and PQ! Makes my heart feel a little better and the tears not to flow so heavily. Today is the 36th anniversary of ‘Lady’ Ruffian’s untimely death, and for me it’s brings back the horrific grief of that day as if it was yesterday. I still miss her and wonder what she could have become if that race hadn’t been run! But I like to think that she has Secretariat, Swale, Alydar, Affirmed, Seattle Slew,Bid, Barbaro, et al chasing after her trying to catch up. Now that was truly some heavy duty ‘Girl Power’!
