Happy Friday!
I hope all of you are making some fun plans for the weekend. I am! This morning I had the most relaxing time. Not only did I have a very cool and refreshing BATH, but I also got to play in the water with my guys! It felt terrific!
As you can see, it is a very pretty morning in Lexington. Lane’s End is such a beautiful place to live. I am really enjoying myself.
Sarah took these photos this morning so you could get a chance to see ME as I am at this very moment. I’m doing everything just as a should….as an expectant MOM…. and I am really starting to have that ‘IN FOAL’ look.
Baby-to-be and I are doing GREAT! Everyone is so gracious to ME! My dear paddock pal, Tasty Temptation, and I are enjoying every single moment of this attention. I must say…I really feel SO PAMPERED and LOVED. LUCKY ME!
This weekend, as has been the case often this summer, both Del Mar and Saratoga are featuring some very competitive Grade 1 races. This time for 3 year old fillies….one on the main track and one on the dirt. Other race tracks are also offering some terrific races. I hope you have a great time handicapping and enjoying our SPORT!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Dear Kennedy’s in S.D.:
Thank you so much for the link on Shackelford. He is adorable. Love him. Hugs, J.B.

@Susan in Tn–thanks for the good news about Chopper! I’m with you on the betting. It would be a miracle if I could get one right. That’w why I like to focus on rescues.
I love Johnny Cash as well. We saw him down at Texas A&M when he had been removed from campus. I think it was in a school cafeteria or something like that.
@Terry Crow–love the joke. You mean Neil Diamond’s “It was a hot August Night”… boy, can I identify with that!!
@the Kennedys–love the Shacklefor link. Hs is such a doll and gives it his all.
@DJ–lovely prayer.
@Cynthia H.–lol about the “Dumplingesque” description!

Hi – People do win the Pick Six – although I’m not one of them! I’ve managed by pure luck to pick 3 in a row, but not 6. there was an incredible Pick Six in Del Mar a few weeks back – The man came home with over 700,000 a check ( or somewhere in that vicinity after his portion going to taxes) + he wanted some cash $750. or approx. I wish I knew how to figure out the links stuff – need to ask my husband’s son to show me next time. It was an article in the San Diego Union. the flip side of it was he had over $3,000 spent for combination tickets to achieve his winnings. Still pretty awesome. He is a person that is either a co-owner or involved in the horseracing world, not just a casual better.
I’ve won 1 trifecta @ Del Mar and a few exactas of which I feel on top of the world when it happens! Thankfully a small better. I’m more excited to just see how beautiful they look in the paddock and coming down the stretch. Will be @ Del Mar on Sunday for the Pacific Classic. Are some of you wonderful folks planning on attending?
Good luck to John’s horses and riders today and a safe trip for all.

@JB: Thanks, Girl, never, ever want to stop seeing this one. I watched 5 times, once I looked away from our Queen to see what Mikey was doing..He looks like he is sitting on top of the world…O, he is, no wonder. I almost feel sorry for the other horses and jockeys, almost. O, I so credit and so laughed and so loved it all over again. Thanks, Sweet Girl…Lisa g
Lisa g
@JB, I saw that race, did not know it was Street Cry’s son. How cool is that.

@Laura J, O, I so know Uncle MO is not quite human, he is my favorite Colt. He is my Baby Boy and cannot wait for next weekend when he flies to the wire. Uncle Mo has a deep crush on Awesome Maria, and speaks of her all the time. There is a cute video of him seeing her pass by on Unclemo.com when he was 2, harmones a raging. Check it out, it is Too Cute, if you have not already. Lisa g.
Lisa g
The ‘experts’ do not think Plum Pretty will show.
Lisa g
@JB, Hope very much you are right and he will be back. How does Mike R get all these great horses?
Lisa g
@LauraJ, and Thirsty is my “Muddy Baby Boy”, but Uncle MO stole my heart when he was 2, and I cannot let go.
Abigail from Montreal
Hi all!
The Alabama is being carried on NBC, starting in couple of minutes. I love & admire all of these fine fillies, but my heart runs this one with Inglorious, winner of the Queen’s Plate @ Woodbine in Toronto. She’s Canadian-bred but owned by the Dubinskys whose last great filly was Careless Jewel. So she’s an American-Canadian connection!!!!! Good luck to all these girls. Do your best and come home safe, right Zenny? HUGS to all!
Lisa g
@Abigail from Montreal, according to the “experts” Inglorious and It’s Tricky are going to be the spotlite of this race. Good luck to your favorite. Lisa g
Lisa g
@Abigail from Montreal, turned over to NBC, I like their coverage…do not worry she will not have any problems on a dirt track, like the ‘experts’ are suggesting as a possibility. Great horses do not have those problems, again, it is almost time, good luck on your favorite. Lisa g
Terry Crow
@Barbara Wood-pack up the babies and grab the old ladies ’cause everybody goes and everybody knows Brother Love’s show.
Lisa g
Delta is sweating, well, so did Shackelford when he took the win.
autumn
i was wandering if you could email me at autumnkegeris@yahoo.com. i have a question i need to talk to you about.

Dear Lisa g.:
I guess he’s got a good bloodstock agent helping him (think it might be Todd Pletcher’s Dad I read somewhere). Also has the money to bid at auction. Although he’s been very lucky, he’s had his bad luck too with Uncle’s Mo’s rare liver condition and now Overdriven’s problem. So, I think, he’s had the means to buy talented youngsters and good racing luck mostly. Hugs, J.B.
Lisa g
@All: Wow, I thought there for a moment or two that Plum Pretty was going to make it. When I saw Delta sweating, I thought of Shackelford immdiately, I will remember that for the future, despite the ‘experts’ concern. She did great, congrats, Royal Delta….Lisa g.

Dear Z Fans:
Congrats to Royal Delta. Ms. Tricky ran a good race, as did Plum Pretty. I think Inglorious did not like the track. Hope that’s all it is. Hugs. J.B.
Christine in VA
As usual you bring a ray of light into my dark room thanks MOMMA Z
Abigail from Montreal
Boy! Inglorious ran a stinker….too bad. Jockey says when he asked her, he had no horse. BUT congrats to Royal Delta, a daughter of the wonderful Empire Maker.

@JB: Uncle Todd’s dad, really! I know he does well getting the great ones. I also heard that another horse of Uncle Todd’s had what Uncle Mo had, and they were not nice talking about it. It was the Comment Thread when they were giving updates on Uncle MO’s condition. I remember the videos they showed while Uncle Mo was getting treatment, and I will fess up, it looked like he had lost his spirit and so skinny, I cried. Interesting Todd Pletcher’s dad! You know everything…I am in awe of you and your knowledge..Lisa g.

Dear Lisa g.:
Street Cry is real cool. So glad you enjoyed the Video of Z Dancing. I love it too. Thanks Kari B. Hugs, J

Dear Lisa g.:
I think I read that somewhere, but will check to make sure I’m giving you the right info on his Bloodstock agent. You know, I was wondering if Mo’s condition could be hereditary? Hope not. Not to much is known about what causes it I think. Hugs, J.B.

Dear Lisa g.:
Oops, should be “not too much is known..” Hugs, J.B.
Debbie
hi Z! I hope YOU’RE having a wonderful weekend, I love these photos of YOU getting suds up;) YOU look gorgeous as always! stay cool I love YOU beautiful mama xoxoxo
Max
@Lisa g. Mo has said that Awesome Maria and he have a long distance relationship. Do you know where she has gone to recover from her injury? She had a great race record this year before she was hurt.
Do you remember that Mo was first interested in asking Zenyatta to be his valentine, but the Queen instead chose Bernardini for her valentine? The rest is history.
