Happy Monday to All!
I truly hope you had a wonderful weekend and really enjoyed yourselves and all of the competitive racing that took place around the country. I sure did….so much so I thought I’d DANCE for a bit! I must admit, that this is just part of my nature…to DANCE whenever I feel terrific! I love doing the “ZENYATTA”.
I’d also like to congratulate all of the winners who ran from coast to coast over the weekend. It makes for such FUN when the racing is as exciting as it has been lately.
I’d especially like to congratulate my owners on SISTER MOON’S maiden victory yesterday at Del Mar. She is a two year old filly by Dixie Union who was making her very first start. She is a homebred for their racing program…which really makes it all so special and so rewarding! Not only did she win quite impressively by over 9 lengths…she also set a new track record for Del Mar at the 5 1/2 furlong distance: 102.70. WOW! She is certainly one very “QUICK MISS”.
Track records for a specific distance are noted at the top of the page in the program and Daily Racing Form every time a particular race is carded at that distance. They reflect the BEST TIME that distance has ever been run…ever…at that race track!
I am elated to say, I also hold a track record time at Del Mar. Mine is for the 1 1/16 distance on the main track of 1:41.48. I believe I was definitely one very “QUICK MISS” as well! (Blush, Blush!)
All of this news….makes ME want to DANCE!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~(Yeah, Sister Moon!)

Great Zenny! Will you be watching Uncle Mo race on your tv in your stall? Stay Thirsty too!! I can’t wait to watch them race! But I miss the days when you were on the track. I watch your racing videos all the time. I can’t wait till your baby races, he or she will be a “superhore,” just like you. To me you’ll always be the Greatest racehorse of all time. No horse could ever be as good as you. You and your baby stay safe okay and eat well! Your #1 fan, Tessa

@Suzanne G: Thank you for the song/story behind Sister Moon’s name. I knew that the Moss’ would have a good reason for 2 names rather than one. I like this name. She can run, wow, can she run. Lisa g

Dear Zenny and Dumplings – It was a fantastic weekend. Congratulations to Sister Moon, a win and a new track record, how amazing is that!! You, Zenny, of course know what it means to set a new track record.
For Vic and I our trip to Saratoga was nothing less than fantastic. I have to tell you that on Saturday, when we arrived, Vic was wearing her Zenyatta T-shirt and hat and we were both wearing our Z-Dumpling Tags on our Queen’s Plate lanyards to announce our love of Zenny and our support of Inglorious. The first person we spoke to, at the Information kiosk, immediately noticed the T-shirt and hat and started to ask Vic about Zenny who was happy to say that we loved Zenyatta and had come to Saratoga from Canada to support Inglorious. She next saw the Z Tags and wanted to know all about Diana’s art work. When I explained the background she insisted that we must accompany her to meet her friend who loved Zenyatta. Within minutes we were introduced to another employee where it was demanded that I again tell the story behind the Z Dumpling story. Long Story, cut short, we now had some new best friends and strict instructions to check in with them on a regular basis. Later in the afternoon, Vic developed stomach cramps and nausea so we ended up in the First Aid room where we again had to explain our Z Tags, as well as the usual information about who, what, where, why. Once discharged from First Aid about 45 minutes later, and after checking in with our new friends, we decided that we would try to find a good spot at the Paddock where we could watch the Alabama horses get tacked up and leave for the walk to the track so that we could wish Inglorious and Luis Contreras well. Not an easy task to find a good vantage point since the Paddock is a popular place and entrance to the Paddock is restricted. We managed to find a pretty good spot when, to our surprise, our friends appeared and gifted us with passes to the Paddock so we were able to get up close to Inglorious when she was being tacked up and to wish her, her trainer, and jockey good luck. Vic and I could not believe our good luck, to be inside the Paddock and so close to Inglorious. We had noticed a gentleman, with a very impressive camera close to us and he eventually introduced himself as “a retired jockey, Nick Martinez”, and asked us about where we came from and about our Z Tags. He gave us his business card and invited us to visit his exhibition. Needless to say, Inglorious did not have a glorious race and Vic and I both lost some money but went to our beds for the night prepared to get up early on Sunday morning to be back at the track for the backstretch tour, bearing in mind the hints and advice we’d been given by all our new friends. We made it back on Sunday morning and were on the trolley for the first tour of the backstretch where we met up with some of our new friends, and our two tour guides who were extremely knowledgeable and pointed out notable trainers who were out at the Oklahoma track monitoring their charges. We also had the opportunity to meet an escort pony, Buddy, and his owner/rider who explained to us all what the job of an escort pony is. Buddy really enjoyed the apples and peppermints that some of the visitors brought for him. After seeing some babies learning about the starting gate and seeing the backstretch kitchen and coffee shop it was back to the track where we able to sit in an owner’s box to relax and watch some of the morning works on the main track. Later, in the day, Vic was ecstatic to get the autograph of Julien Laparoux and then, joy of joy, to encounter Nick Zito who was kind enough to personalize his autograph on her program. We took a few minutes to check out the exhibitors and met up again with Nick Martinez who remembered us and told us that he didn’t think that Inglorious just didn’t “get to run her race”. We went to say “goodbye” to our new friends who took a few extra minutes to introduce us to Garrett Gomez before we left. My one regret, not being able to find out where the Jockey Calendar was being sold so I guess I’ll just have to buy it on line.
This has been an incredibly long post, but I wanted to share with you all how powerful the Z Tag was, everywhere we went. Even if people did’nt stop us ask what it was, it caused people to take a second look. We had the opportunity to talk with so many people who are Zenyatta fans who made our trip to Saratoga a memorable experience, even in Funny Cide territory. Diana S, you deserve a special award, thank you for all your hard work. Tonight I’m thinking about you and your family and sending positive thoughts your way.

What a wonderful day for you and Vic. So glad you had such a great Saratoga experience and got to meet new friends, jockeys and Nick Zito. Inglorious just didn’t like the track, I think. She is a beautiful, wonderful girl and very talented. Hugs, J.B.

@JB: Have not tried yet, I usually do searches early in the morning on Saturday or Sunday when I am off. I do want to do a search on something this weekend, and you, sweet friend, will be the first to know how it goes. My brother is like you, he clicks, types, enters and there it is…He lives in Austin so I can’t have him over every weekend. Lots of hugs to you, Lisa g.
Brenda S..
Dear Judy B, I have never run on like that but the whole experience was so fantastic, and so Zenyatta connected, that I had to share. The Dumpling Tag has enormous power. I hope that I didn’t send everyone to sleep.
Paula Higgins
Zenny, good to see you still have the moves! You were our Dancing Queen! Congrats to everyone on Sister Moon!

@ Lisa g – I think we may have seen Stay Thirsty at work on Sunday morning. We certainly saw a bunch of Mr. P’s horses on the track and two working in company.

@JAG and Judy B–thanks for the links for Sister Moon, Mucho Macho Man dancing—TOO CUTE and another TOO CUTE for Bubba Earl and Skeeter–TRUE LOVE
@Joanna-another great photo of our girl
@Gloria-just loved John’s interview, thanks
@Barbara Wood-just finished reading War Horse. Should be a great movie but will need quite a few tissues (Judy and Susan) I was bawling like a baby at one part of the book.
@Susan in TN–looked up Chester and Friends on Facebook. WOW!!! Isn’t it amazing what love can do. Such an improvement for Chester since January. And Chopper is as good-looking as I thought he would be, finally seeing him up close. He reminds me of our Williams, chestnut with a diamond shaped star.
I still need to go back and catch up on the weekend posts, hopefully tomorrow :)
Zenny, got some really good vibes from the diary today. Good links, good stories, some sad too, good friends coming together. Have a dancing dream-filled night sweet girl.
Lotsa love to all.
