Good Morning, Everyone!
Recently, I was relaxing in the paddock thinking about all of the activities planned for the future. My Team and I have been really working on some exciting plans. They are constantly monitoring my well-being…which is always their #1 goal. Additionally, my pals at Lane’s End always make sure I am in fabulous shape and taking great care of myself. Just think….I am going to be a MOM! All of this is really very exciting!
It is also that time of the year when so many people in our industry focus on the YEARLING SALES! The September Keeneland Yearling Sale is one of the largest sales in the entire industry. People from all over the world travel to Lexington for this sale with the hope of purchasing young horses who will ultimately enrich their racing programs. As you may know, this is the sale I was purchased from when I was a yearling in 2005!
David, who is a part of MY TEAM, was recently asked by THE BLOODHORSE to do some video presentations discussing criteria on how to select a yearling at a sale, the physical qualities to look for in a young horse, and then a discussion about ME! In my opinion, this is the TOO CUTE part of these presentations….the part about ME! Blush, Blush!
On their web-site, THE BLOODHORSE presented a short segment from each of these videos. I thought it would be fun to share them with you. You’ll see ME as a yearling in the sales ring, HIP #703, and many clips of ME during my racing career. The one segment at Churchill Downs was taken a few moments after I arrived at the track from the airport for the 2010 Breeders’ Cup.

Please enjoy!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Zenny, like so many others, whenever I need a real pick me up, I revisit your videos. My, how you stirred the heart and soul of a nation! David has a keen eye and thank God he saw you and recognized you were a “gotta have” horse. There will never be another quite like you. Your team is simply amazing…they continue to share your life with us and it is a welcome respite from the craziness in the world. Bless you, my Queen. I’d be at LE to kiss that soft nose of yours in a minute if I could.

Dear Trina N.:

To Judy’s delight,
Her mother Ramona
Is a bright shining light
With an encircling glowing corona.
For ninety years Ramona’s been living
And always giving

As all can see,
She’s the epitome
Of mothers.
Happy Birthday to Judy’s mother!

Zenny, you look as if you’re waiting for someone and you think you can see them in the distance. I’m sure you’ll have lots of visitors when the Keeneland sales are happening, are they going to stream them so we all can watch, it would so fantastic if we all could see it live. Your hints about new plans sound very exciting, is it another contest where we can compete for something of yours? I guess that you’re going to keep us in suspense for a while.
@ Abigail – thanks for the updates on Noor.
@ Trina – Poet Laureate extraordinaire – no advance notice and you produce a birthday poem for Marty.
@ Marty – Happy Birthday to you.
@ Kimberley P – Definitely NO river adventures for Mommy-to-be.
@ Dawn C – Lovely words, thank you.

I’m just like so many of my Zen-ster family. At least 4 times a week I go off to YouTube and re-watch some of my favourite Zenyatta clips. I suspect most of you saw this one back in the fall of 2010, but it remains one of my VERY favourites. It’s John Sherriffs filmed record of Zenyatta’s arrival @ Churchill Downs. Watch to see Barbara Livingston & Steve Haskin near the end of the video. And, of course, Steve, Dottie, Mario, Frank & Ann. ENJOY!

For those that follow the wild ones–Laura Leigh’s TRO was partially held up in court. This means that Josh Hellyer from Hell can’t fly for the BLM anymore–at least for Triple B which was to conclude today.
The important thing to note was that his flying was considered inhumane. Josh has a LONG history of hitting our wild equids with the skids of his helicopter. It is a BIG win for the horses and Laura and her lawyer–the one and only GORDON COWAN!

Dear Margaret:
Wonderful news. Wish they could take this guys fly license away. Hugs, J.B.

Zenny, I’LL ……BE……RIGHT…….THERE!!!! I wish you were waiting for me, IN MY DREAMS right? I have never seen a bad picture of you, your love shines thru in every picture. Some day maybe you will be waiting at the fence to see me, I’ll keep dreaming.
@Noor welcome home champion where you can rest with other horses of your stature and never have to worry about a building on top of you. Congratulations and thanks to Charlotte, and all the others who helped this dream come true. I wonder what her next project will be?
@Steve Haskins, I hope you are now in good health so you can continue to write about the thoroghbreds we love so much. I agree Stay Thirsty got no credit or attention, I even heard friends(?) of Mike R’s told him he should get rid of him, he’ll never amount to anything. Well I hope their eating horseapples now and I’m sure Mike’s taking a second look. Love you ST (Bernie’s boy).
Luv you Zen and kisses on your nose

Zbest posts….. the give us an look at your life and that pretty much satisfies me to the point of not feeling the extreme need to see you. I respect that you need to be protected at this delicate time BLUSH BLUSH… lova ya, mama

Zenyatta thank you for the videos. Anything with you is Fantastic. David is one smart man. I would like to meet him someday. I have to share with you what an amazing day Homeroom 215 had. We were contacted by Ice Racing Stables to take part in a project to write to one of their horses. Jennifer Ice had seen the article about you and my class and thought they would be perfect. She has a project called Peppermint Pals. There is even a website. Zenny if you are near a computer check it out. Our horses name is Madame Mistletoe. She just won her first race. She is only 2 years old. She is beauitful. When I talked to Jennifer she said that her husband had trained Summer Bird which ran against you in the 2009 Breeders Cup. She said you don’t get much better than Zenyatta. Without you Zenny Jennifer would not know about my class. My new Homeroom was so excited. I am so excited. This made my day:) I also received in the mail the book from Abigail from Canada THANK YOU so much. I am going to read it to the children and put it with the horse station in the room. This is getting so much attention from the children. Abigail also sent me a color picture of Secretariat with Eddie his groom. I am so touched. Thank you so much. I was speechless. I again thank YOU Zenny for bringing us all together and for giving me this wonderful new family. I love you. Hugs and Kisses, Shari and Homeroom 215 XXXOOO
@ Susan in Tn I love our talks on the phone. Hearing your voice is great. Kiss Kiss to Rootbeer :)

@ Sharon Call & ALL: Here’s a link not tied to my own YouTube channel. This one should work! It’s absolutely the CUTEST video: Zenny greets her family @ Churchill Downs before the Breeders’ Cup last year!

@Shari: SO glad to hear that the book & photo arrived. Given Hurricane Irene, I wondered how long it would take! ENJOY!

You look so lovely in these pictures, enjoying the beautiful environment. Loved to see the clips from the conformation dvd – David sure something that many ‘experts’ did not! And what a blessing that was for The Queen to be in the best care possible. Thank you Z and Team Zenyatta!
