Happy Thursday!
I am still basking in the glow of all of the attention I have been receiving the past few weeks from ‘my family and close friends’. In the Diary posts, several of you asked if MY TEAM was able to come to Lane’s End and visit with ME during the Sale. The answer is ABSOLUTELY YES. They were here on several occasions. We always share so many great times together!
John promised Dottie last night that he would download the photos so we can share them with you. Since everyone is just settling in at home post Del Mar and Kentucky, it has been rather busy. So, I’ll have them for you soon. In some, I’m simply sleeping. I guess they think it is fun to even watch ME do that!
This baby thing is really becoming quite fascinating to ME! I’m learning that babies grow up and that they come in so many different sizes! Here I am with Brian, Jeanne’s grandson. He is absolutely adorable! I can tell he has been around a lot of horses in his life…he knows WE LIKE SNACKS!
I’m off to roam around in the paddock now with Tasty. She is such a dear friend. We are great paddock mates…and get along fabulously!
Enjoy your day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

I was just on “Z’s”facebook page where someone mentioned the special sweet look she has at human children. She reacts much differently and gently. We all saw the obvious soft look in her eyes with little Brian. He knew he could trust her, too. Dottie is very intuitive which pictures to share. I recall viewing some similar YouTube videos last year when some children visited Z at her barn after she retired.Too cute.Several were allowed to feed her carrots and pet her at the same time. She would just use that infamous right hoof to scratch the ground for more attention. This just shows the patience and gentleness with which she was handled by everyone who has cared for her. I too stay up late to see her grand races on late night TVG as well as nuture my soul in replaying her races especially the post race prancing and showing off. She knew she was “all that”. And the boys knew it too.

Hello, Zen,
I swear, you are getting more beautiful by the day! When little Brian is older, he will treasure the photo of himself feeding a carrot to none other than the Queen. The Queen is a lady-in-waiting now, and yes, it’s becoming more obvious. Can’t wait to see more photos. We are all so eager to see your little one, when February comes, we’ll be working ourselves up into a frenzy! Not you, though, Zen, you just stay nice and serene. Thanks to your “family” for letting us feel close to you.

You look so patient knowing Brian is learning.
What a thoughtful gentle look. I remember with
YOUR MIKE you were voraciously after those
peppermints pushing and pushing him to give
You one. Horses are so intuitive. Hope you had a great
Day, hanging out in the paddock, eating healthy

For such a little horse, he cast a very long shadow. His heart was as big as his body. To see him on the track, was to remember him forever. RIP, Rahy.

Absolutely adorable photo! Zenny, your baby will look a little different than Brian and just TOO CUTE. :)
Linda in Fla.
I just returned from a trip to Colorado to find the most wonderful coverage of HRTV’s Breeders’ Cup Classic 2009 we had recorded. I had watched the coverage on ESPN but the HRTV crew captured a lot of footage I’ve never seen and they certainly captured more of the excitement. I plan to watch it over and over; I just can’t get enough of Zenyatta and she was certainly in her glory that day. I had only discovered her in her previous race (hard to follow racing in Fla. before we got HRTV) and I didn’t want her to face the boys because I knew so little about her competition but I did know that she would be upset if she lost. Fortunately smarter minds than mine prevailed, providing racing with one of its’ most exciting moments ever. From that time on I was a believer and an ardent fan.I wish I could share this with those who don’t get HRTV but if you haven’t seen it you must. It will give you goose bumps and make you want to stand up and cheer once again for a true champion.
