Good Morning,
My JOHN got a chance to download some of his photos last night…so I wanted to share a few of them with you. It has been so exciting seeing everyone. As usual, we always have a great time together.
Here I am whispering ‘sweet thoughts’ into My John’s ear. At this moment, I really gave a great deal of thought to playing the ‘hat game’ with him as well. It was rather windy at this particular time…so I decided to just ‘kiss’ him on the cheek. I have done this so many times in the past. It brought back so many special memories to ME and I know to him!
What a wonderful day we all shared!
This weekend seems to be packed with a great deal of stakes action at several different racing venues. I am particularly interested in the KENT which is on the turf at Delaware Park and the Pennsylvania Derby on the main track at Parx. Both races are for 3 year olds going 1 1/8. It is great to see how horses continue to develop and mature at this stage. I am especially interested in the Parx race as Bernie sired one of the main contenders, TO HONOR AND SERVE.
I must say, I do keep track of ‘his’ horses and how they are performing at the race track. His babies sold very well in the various yearling sales to date and his horses are running very competitively all over the world! This is such GREAT NEWS!
I’m proud of you, BERNIE!
On the West Coast, Fairplex is concluding their meet…and then back to Santa Anita for their Autumn Meet of Racing. Opening day is September 30th. This marks the beginning of a great time of racing on the West Coast as one terrific race meet follows another from this point forward for the next 11 plus months.
I hope you enjoy all of the FUN! Good Luck to all of the horses competing this weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

@Eveline – Thanks for the link to the Friesian horses. They are so magnificent. It’s really cool to see them playing around and being silly.
@Signofthetimes – Thanks for the link to the Brown Bess story. What a remarkable, heartwarming story!

Dear Z-sters—OOPS! At this time, there is just ONE drawing of Zenyatta available as a print from the renowned artist Sherrill Brooke—it’s the full body view of Zenyatta at six months old. The close-up of her head is not available as a separate print, as I thought it was. It is on the website just to show a detail of the one print. Sorry for the mistake. http://slb12.com/slb12/COLLECTABLES_-_PAINTINGS,_DRAWINGS_%26_PRINTS.html

I just love these latest pictures, not just for the subject matter, which can’t be topped, but also for the size of the pictures. Fantastic!! Seeing Tasty Temptation off to the side, made me wonder if Lanes End instructs or encourages owners and approved visitors not to engage the paddock mates of their horse. They are so protective of the mares, I thought might be a consideration.

@Trina Nagele
For some reason, the link to Sherrill Brooke does not work on my computer, in case others are having difficulties as well.
Thanks for the info.

OOPS, that link for the print didn’t seem to work. I’ll try again. http://slb12.com/slb12/%22ZENYATTA%22_MOST_REALISTIC_LIMITED_PRINTS_BY_HER_COMMISSIONED_ARTIST_MR._SHERRILL_BROOKE.html

I think this is the slideshow of AP Indy Judy B was mentioning, it is lovely; I love the ending; and there is only one AP Indy.

OK, that link works. Be sure to scroll all the way down to the bottom past the original drawings to get to the affordably priced print.

@ Judy Berube- Thank you for the hug and I send them back to you and your husband. I’m fine, have just been quiet and trying to absorb everything posted on here. I still have more links to check out.
This may be way out there, but I’m wondering if those horseshoes at the feedlot could be recycled and the money used to help the rescue. I know time is short and don’t even know if they are made of recyclable materials. Just don’t know if it would be a viable option or not. It just seems they should have more purpose than being a dereadful reminder.
Marty R
Sorry, should be dreadful. Fingers have their own mind when it comes to typing.

Gotta love those Bernardini and Tapit kids, WOW!! That Tapit youngster, Hansen, was like a streaking bullet in his race yesterday and To Honor And Serve setting a new record was exceptional! And the sires are part of the Mosses racing program, so exciting!

I just gave my donation via pay pal to Valley View Ranch to help these unfortunate horses. It is so very sad indeed. I hate to think of the big pile of horse shoes left behind. It does remind me of a very nasty time in history!! Z, I watched your DVD’s last night, your first 14 races and the 60 Minutes segment, the first one….I miss watching you! Then I watched Grand Prix Dressage, Musical Freestyles from 2005 with Brentina and 2009 and from Kentucky the World Equestrian Games. I need to ride again!!

Hi again QUEEN Z!!! What great photos, once more. Well worth the wait! Five high hooves to YOUR TEAM! Esp. enjoy that one of the manes blowin’ in the wind. As many have said prior to me, it is GREAT for your Dottie to take the time to keep us up to date. How does she do it? You, Z, have helped so many of us who have had hellish weeks (ahem….), or on a more serious note, severe health issues, and/or you just plain put a smile on our faces. And how great is it just to have such a friendly forum to talk Racing!
@JAG, thanks for the Mr.Moss race info. Speaking of smiles on faces…really too cute!
@Terri: I, too love the Z festival idea…
@Judy Berube: appreciate the information on you and Russ. Take care of yourself while you are taking care of him. I appreciate your links and insights.
@Lauryn Moore: Hi there from Southern California. Looking forward to hearing more from you, thanks to our own special QUEEN. (My husband I enjoyed our visit to London several years ago. :) )
@Terry Crow and @ Diana S, enjoy your trip and yes, really really strange, LOL.
@signofthetimes, very much enjoyed the link of Tom Durkin and “I wanna” etc. He is definitely an announcer who thinks on his feet. ALSO, at the risk of being self serving (oh go ahead, Anne, why not), I noticed that the date of that race was 10-2-10. Well, ahem…my birthday is 10-02, which is, as we speak, just one week away. How coincidental is that? We will be at the track on 10-1 (BIG day), not sure about the actual b/day. May celebrate on 10-1 since we’ll already be out and about.
Well, Ms. Z., time permitting, I want to go back and re-read some posts and click on more links such as Three Chimneys Rahy-@Dawn Conrad, thanks.
@All, Happy Sunday to everyone especially to you Ms. Z,and your paddock gal pals.

Zueen Z…what great pictures of you and your family. Everyone is happy when they see how great you look!
Susan in Tn. My husband and I and our Alaskan Malamute did our annual Walk for the Animals today(weather was perfect Malamute weather upper 40’s), We said a prayer for you and Tiny as we saw so many big dogs with their lving owners!
My mare is continuing to do well thanks to all the great vets and good friends who provided help and support.

@Jeanie–great news! I’m holding my breath.
@Alex Bowdoin–thank you so much. We can do this if we all work together!

Dear Anne from Paramount:
Thank you so much for your kind words. I always enjoy your posts. BTW, tried to find the Doremifasollatido video of TD’s call (where he sings the horse’s name as she wins the race); it’s no longer on You Tube. One of his best. Hugs to you and yours, J.B.
judy berube
Dear Signofthetimes:
Bernie was bred, owned and raced by Darley. I don’t think he was ever for sale. Is that what you meant? Hugs, J.B.
judy berube
Dear Quarterhossgal:
Happy to hear your mare is doing well. Hugs, J.B.
