Good Morning,
My JOHN got a chance to download some of his photos last night…so I wanted to share a few of them with you. It has been so exciting seeing everyone. As usual, we always have a great time together.
Here I am whispering ‘sweet thoughts’ into My John’s ear. At this moment, I really gave a great deal of thought to playing the ‘hat game’ with him as well. It was rather windy at this particular time…so I decided to just ‘kiss’ him on the cheek. I have done this so many times in the past. It brought back so many special memories to ME and I know to him!
What a wonderful day we all shared!
This weekend seems to be packed with a great deal of stakes action at several different racing venues. I am particularly interested in the KENT which is on the turf at Delaware Park and the Pennsylvania Derby on the main track at Parx. Both races are for 3 year olds going 1 1/8. It is great to see how horses continue to develop and mature at this stage. I am especially interested in the Parx race as Bernie sired one of the main contenders, TO HONOR AND SERVE.
I must say, I do keep track of ‘his’ horses and how they are performing at the race track. His babies sold very well in the various yearling sales to date and his horses are running very competitively all over the world! This is such GREAT NEWS!
I’m proud of you, BERNIE!
On the West Coast, Fairplex is concluding their meet…and then back to Santa Anita for their Autumn Meet of Racing. Opening day is September 30th. This marks the beginning of a great time of racing on the West Coast as one terrific race meet follows another from this point forward for the next 11 plus months.
I hope you enjoy all of the FUN! Good Luck to all of the horses competing this weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

JAG from California :-)
One more thing I meant to share! This morning while getting ready for work I was also watching HRTV. They were showing racing in Europe.
~~~
The WORCESTER, Race 4, there was a horse named MR MOSS!!! How cool is that!! So, I watched the race – he came in a dang half a nose 2nd! This race was 2 miles and 7 furlongs!!! It included jumping. The announcer kept mentioning how MR MOSS wasn’t jumping the hedges to gracefully… He did a great stretch run!!! High Hoof Mr Moss :-)
We are so incredibly lucky to have you help us know about this sport and all the things Z as she awaits her last several months before the big day.
******* I think it would be really great if Zenyatta could get to 100,000 Facebook fans before this years Breeder’s Cup in Novemeber….. Tell all your friends and family to “Like” Zenyatta’s Facebook Page to make this happen. *****************
Thanks Everyone!!!
Thanks for all the great pictures; it warms my heart to see how happy everyone is. Keep up the good work. Thank you Dottie and the entire Team for keeping us up to date on Miss Z. She is such a treasure.
Patti
Love the photos…everone looks so happy. Can a horse smile? I think Zenyatta can! So very happy to see she continues to just glow. Thank you for sharing her with her fans.
So glad to see Z with her human family. She has looked a bit lonely to me in some of her pictures. Our animal family misses us – and Z has been and is unbelievably people oriented. Love and affection occur no matter what the species!
Only have total envy today – wish I could see the Queen up close and personal. Good thing I now have my own who is also Irish….
Zenny- your family looks so happy, as do you! What wonderful pictures. I love how you and Dottie are both looking down with the same expression while the wind blows- too cute! Tasty T looks like a kid at summer camp whose friend’s parents are visiting and she’s not sure if she should join in :) Love you <3
Thank you, Team Z!
I like your idea, Terri, for an annual Zenyatta festival as a fundraiser for worthy causes like Old Friends.
Great to see you reunited with Ann, Jerry, John & Dottie! I cannot even imagine the flood of emotions for you all!
Can you believe you & the baby only have 6 more months to go! I had two March babies, one on the 14th and the other on
the 31st! It is the perfect time of year to welcome in new life.
Take care sweetie…Hugs & Kisses
Dear Great One,
I just love seeing these photos of you and your humans. They look so happy to be in your presence and you look so beautiful.
SOME OF YOUR DISTANT COUSINS ARE NOT SO FORTUNATE RIGHT NOW. THEY ARE IN DANGER OF BEING SLAUGHTERED BECAUSE THEY WERE SENT TO A NEVADA FEEDLOT BY OWNERS WHO DIDN’T WANT THEM ANYMORE.
THANKS TO SO MANY GENEROUS HEARTS, WE ARE NEARLY HALFWAY TO REACHING OUR GOAL OF PAYING “RANSOM” TO RESCUE THESE HORSES.
$2,775 of the $6,175 needed has been raised, leaving $3,400. WE MUST REACH THIS GOAL BY NEXT WEDNESDAY, Sept. 28, of some of them will DIE. Please take a look and tell me these beautiful horses do not deserve to live. http://www.valleyviewranchequinerescue.webs.com/
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND ESPECIALLY YOU MISS Z. YOU HAVE RAISED THE STATURE OF ALL HORSES EVERYWHERE, INCLUDING EVEN THESE POOR SOULS.
Your humble J
Vicki B.
Zenny, You and your family all look great, thanks!
Dear Z,
@DJ-Good news about Shawnee. In the end, Grandma couldn’t hold up under the pressure. @Judy Berube-If you didn’t understand the joke, I will repeat it. @signofthetimes, Eveline and Trina Nagele-Glad you enjoyed the joke. @Dawn Conrad-How does one become knowledgeable unless less it is by reading, watching and experiencing? Don’t sell yourself short. @Linda in Fla-In my opinion, the 2009 Breeders Cup Classic is the greatest horse race ever run. As we all remember, it was supposed to be Zenyatta’s last race. @Brooke-Good to see you posting. @Peggy (N)-It is difficult to say when Golden Gate Fields might disappear. There is a move afoot to make the area into an industrial park. It may take a few years, then again maybe not. I would think that there would be adequate notice so that Lost in the Fog and Silky Sullivan can be relocated. Then again, maybe not. @JAG-Thanks for the link. They have had their problems at Penn National. @Kari Bussell and Susan in TN-You might be a redneck if there is no line to your septic tank. You might be a redneck if your best man was something that wore a collar. You might be a redneck if you lost your best friend when he dressed as Frogger for Halloween. You might be a redneck if you have names for the gnats that swarm around your trash. @all-I will be off the diary until Monday as I am taking a trip to see my daughter for her birthday. In the meantime, here is today’s joke–A little boy was waiting for his mother to come out of the grocery store. As we waited, he was approached by a man who asked “Son. can you tell me the way to the post office?” The little boy replied “Sure. Just go straight down this street a couple of blocks and then turn to your right.” The man thanked the boy kindly and said “I’m the new pastor in town. I’d like for you to come to church on Sunday. I’ll show you how to get to heaven.” The little boy replied “Awww, come on. You don’t even know the way to the post office.”
What wonderful photos. It always makes me so happy to see your reunions. They are so special and you never forget each other. I love you all.
Susan in Tn – that’s what I thought about Tasty! Those photos are so heartwarming. I can’t imagine it’s easy for Ann, Jerry, Dottie and John to have to leave after a wonderful visit with Zenyatta. But looking at that gorgeous greenery where Zenny gets to hang out with his pal and seeing how great she looks must be some small consolation.
