Dear Friends,
I hope all of you are well. It is so hard to believe that it is almost October! This year is flying by so quickly.
I must say I am enjoying every moment and having a great time each day at Lane’s End! As I’ve mentioned to you in prior Diary entries, with all of this ‘free time’ in my schedule, I am really investigating several 2nd career options. Currently, I’m diligently working on some very exciting plans and will be sharing them with you very soon.
From the actions I took in these photos, one option I somewhat considered was becoming a HAIR STYLIST. As you can see, while Ann was so affectionately scratching one of my favorite spots…I decided I would redo her hair. Let’s put it this way, she was a GREAT SPORT!
I also tried it with April when she came to visit. I think both of these lovely women did not want to hurt my feelings… but would agree with ME very sweetly…that this is not a 2nd career option for ME! Sometimes you simply have to try different things just to know for yourself that it is NOT for you!
Thank goodness there are other fabulously talented people who do such a great job working in this profession!
Tasty and I share these thoughts all of the time! It really is fun to consider all of the great possibilities!
Enjoy your day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

Zenny, you are one silly girl! Again, we have some great photos of you with your friends. Every picture you take with Ann is very special because the two of you share a magical bond. I am so excited to hear about your second career plans. Whatever they are I know for certain you will be superb at the job.

Zenny, if you could work on men’s hair I’d gladly let you rearrange the little bit I have left!

Dear Zenny,
These photos are very cute, and you are quite the silly girl. I think you were looking for a “hat”, but did not find one. You look so happy and relaxed. So glad that you are able to be a horse. Although many people miss you, there are career changes for everyone in life and this is yours. On to Broodmare of the Year, Bernie would be very honored and proud of you. Enjoy the KY bluegrass, TT company and the fall weather. It is a beautiful time in KY. XXXXOOOO

Funny when I looked at the photo I was thinking of your hair.. did you have your ends done? or is it growing out.. lol ;-)

Hey Big Mama Z! Oooh, I can’t wait to hear what you have in store as a second career opportunity. I hate to say this, but I don’t like seeing that mask on your face, even though it was explained that it protects you from flies, etc. I don’t know. For some reason it just bothers me. Anyway, as always, love to Team Z! Enjoy your days, Z! XOXO!

Vizshla’s are very very very loving and creative dogs, they spend time loving their human but also need a job like pointing birds, chasing small creatures as they are very smart so it is a nice balance. The are very wonderful dogs.

Dear Great One,
You look so serious in your styling endeavors with Ann and April! That is so CUTE! And it does look like you’ve had your mane “tipped.” You are ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!
ALSO FABULOUS IS HOW ALL YOUR Z’ISTERS ARE DOING IN HELPING OUR YOUR DISTANT COUSINS IN DISTRESS AT A NEVADA FEED LOT. THE GREAT NEWS IS THAT WE ARE ONLY $1,450 AWAY FROM FREEING THESE POOR SOULS FROM THIS PURGATORY THEY ARE IN. THE BAD NEWS IS WE HAVE UNTIL END OF DAY TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 28) TO DO SO. PLEASE CONTINUE TO SEARCH YOUR HEARTS AND BUDGET TO SEE WHAT WE CAN DO. IF WE ALL DID JUST A LITTLE BIT, WE COULD GET THE JOB DONE!
Your humble J

I miss you so much Z, this year of racing just has not been the same, no real excitement in the air for the BC like we had last year.Sure hope the fillies pull it off again this year and win the HOTY that would be good.

You can restyle my hair any time, dear Zenyatta! I hope Ann like her new hairstyle even if you’ve decided this is perhaps not the best second career for you. I can’t wait to hear what you do decide!

Good morning dear Z. Its been a while. My human has been very busy and not able to send you posts. My pasture mates & I are all glad you are doing well. A few of us tried the hairstylist route just as a hobby. It didn’t work out so well. Clients weren’t thrilled with the bits of hay & grain we wove into their hair. Oh well.
We here are all up in age and are enjoying full retirement. You being the young gorgeous filly you are need to find a new career to keep you from getting bored. Maybe you should consider modeling or acting. You have the brains and beauty for both.
Glad everything is going well for you and enjoy hearing from you.
Love always,

Zenny, You’re already doing 2 great jobs right now as a grown-up–acting as an ambassadress for your sport and just having time to be a horse. Soon you’ll have a third one–being a mom. Seems to me you’re doing a great job as a grown-up, and an awfully good-looking one at that!
