Dear Friends,
I hope all of you are well. It is so hard to believe that it is almost October! This year is flying by so quickly.
I must say I am enjoying every moment and having a great time each day at Lane’s End! As I’ve mentioned to you in prior Diary entries, with all of this ‘free time’ in my schedule, I am really investigating several 2nd career options. Currently, I’m diligently working on some very exciting plans and will be sharing them with you very soon.
From the actions I took in these photos, one option I somewhat considered was becoming a HAIR STYLIST. As you can see, while Ann was so affectionately scratching one of my favorite spots…I decided I would redo her hair. Let’s put it this way, she was a GREAT SPORT!
I also tried it with April when she came to visit. I think both of these lovely women did not want to hurt my feelings… but would agree with ME very sweetly…that this is not a 2nd career option for ME! Sometimes you simply have to try different things just to know for yourself that it is NOT for you!
Thank goodness there are other fabulously talented people who do such a great job working in this profession!
Tasty and I share these thoughts all of the time! It really is fun to consider all of the great possibilities!
Enjoy your day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

@Patricia w/Saluki and LauraJ…Oh, yes the frustrations of getting a sighthound thru obedience competition are too familiar. Any hound breed for that matter; we had put a Beagle and Afghan thru CD. Didn’t have the fortitude to go any further than that :)) Hounds just follow their own drummer and if you’re lucky, they might listen to you a little bit. The story of the Saluki in the obstacle course was cute!
The life lesson in all of this is not to expect too much from a creature if it goes against their basic nature and if you do, you better develop a really good sense of humor!

You can work on my hair anytime you want Beautiful Girl!!

I will convey your best wishes to Marlene for a successful adoption event this weekend in Salinas. If you are thinking of waiting until the first of the month to send a little something extra, I think that would be fine. She may even wait until the following weekend to go up and get OUR little dumplings because I have told her I wanted to go with her. I WANT TO ASK ALL OF YOU TO PRAY FOR ME ABOUT THAT. I AM NOT SURE I CAN HANDLE SEEING WHAT WE LEAVE BEHIND. IF I SEE THE PILE OF HORSE SHOES, I JUST DON’T KNOW IF I CAN TAKE IT, BUT I FEEL THAT I MUST GO AND SEE FOR MYSELF AND HELP OUT MORE.
Thank you again for all you have done. You are the BEST!
Your humble J

@ all our Jewish friends–Shanah Tovah.
@Jeanie– I understand what you said completely. I sent a small extra bit for the transport. I couldn’t bear to leave any either.
Trina Nagele
@Jeanie—It is very brave of you to think of going, and it would be a GREAT service to the rest of here on Z’s site to have you as our personal eyes and ears on the ground, so to speak. If you do go, please tell us beforehand, and we will definitely pray for you to have strength to sustain you. I hope you go, but only if it’s not too much. Please e-mail me at trinambn@yahoo.com if you would like to discuss rescue offsite at any time. Thanking you for all you are doing for these marvelous innocents,
Yours in rescue,
Trina

Zenny, you have red highlights in your mane. Is this an example of your talent with hair?

Zenyatta, you have a perfect concept of time. Where HAS the summer gone? I can’t believe myself that it’s almost October. You are in the perfect place at Lane’s End Farm. That place sounds like paradise. I wish I was there. With all due respect, I don’t recommend you being a hairstylist. You keep on trying different ideas for your next career as long as it doesn’t get you in trouble or affect your unborn foal. You’re bound to come across something that you’re good at and that you enjoy. You’re already good at and enjoy many many things.

Hi Zenyatta. You look so beautiful with Ann – I love seeing her scratch one of your favorite spots. Big girl, you can be anything you want to be – you are a superstar, champion, beauty queen, charity organizer, ambassador for this great sport – you are an Angel in Disguise. Love you.
