Good Morning,
It is a bit rainy here this morning and the weather is about 57ish. The temperature has cooled off a bit, but it is still quite pleasant. One thing I have learned while living in Kentucky, the weather can change very quickly. One must always be prepared.
I was wondering how my pals, Nereid and Star Billing, like it here. Dottie commented that it is rather HOT today in California…in the high 80’s. I know MY JOHN would have definitely prepared for the change in temperature in respect to these 2 fillies. Knowing him, he brought some nice, comfy blankets for them to wear….especially in the evening.
Entries were drawn Wednesday for their race, The Queen Elizabeth Challenge Cup–G1. The race runs at 5:45 Eastern Time. Star Billing drew the one hole (she will be wearing RED) and Nereid is in post 5 (wearing a GREEN saddle towel). The morning line for both of them is 6 to 1. There is a field of 8 entered and Winter Memories is the favorite at 6-5. Summer Soiree is 2 to 1. Here’s wishing all of them a GREAT TRIP!
I know MY JOHN is in town. After morning training today, he went to Louisville for a bit. I heard he was out doing a ‘special project in relation to ME’ this morning. This is TOO CUTE!
I wonder what it is? I’m sure he’ll whisper it in my ear when he comes to visit!
Have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Hi beautiful Zen. Let us know what your beloved John whispers in your ear. I am sure he is doing something for his special Zenyatta and baby Z. I love you.

Zenny, It sounds like John has some big plans involving you. We sure wish we oculd go to your BC party but we’ll have to settle for reading all about it. Hope all the horses come home safe this weekend.

Hi Z & all Z’sters—I have not been posting, because of being extremely busy. I am preparing for a move, but will be back in touch when everything is settled.
Thank you Dottie for everything you do and hugs to all.
Zen, have fun in this nice cool weather, don’t you just love it!

Dear Sally B.:
I think BL has a “Store” page on her website where you can purchase prints. I left you to links to her site on the bottom of Z’s Diary page 355. Let me know how you make out. Hugs, JB

Dear Max:
Thank you for the terrific article by J. Hovdey on naming horses. Love that they sometimes call Frankel “Bobby”. Too cute. Hugs, JB

@darlene, the main difference is this: Stonestreet is a private farm. It’s owned by Jess Jackson’s partners and heirs (his wife, I assume). All the Stonestreet employees are their employees. All the mares and foals belong to them. So, if they want to allow fans to visit Rachel, they are assuming all the (small) risk, paying for their own employees’ time, and using their own facilities. This is not the case with Lane’s End, which is a commercial farm. The Mosses pay to board Zenyatta there, but they are not paying the staff and they don’t own any of the facilities. They don’t own the other mares in Zenyatta’s barn. While it is not a big imposition on LE staff to have the occasional visit from a few people, arranging a visit for a hundred fans would be something else again.

Such a nice picture of Nereid – thanks for sharing it with us! Hope they both have a great race on Saturday!
Your John always has something special for you and I bet Mike does too……

@Dawn Conrad-Thank you so much. The qualities you mention are not always mutually exclusive. Always enjoy your posts. @signofthetimes-I would be interested in knowing what standards are used for determining whether or not a horse did not perform up to par. Harness racing has such a rule for years. @Kennedys in San Diego-Thank you. I meant every word. @Brenda S-Here is an address written on a letter which was actually delivered by the Canadian postal service. Hick in The Woods @one mile after the last squirrel hole, three past the deer lick and two leaps over the fallen oak tree. Who says there are no rednecks in Canada? @Diana S, Denise in AZ and Rosemary McCauley of the California/Arizona chapter of the redneck club club–You might be a redneck if you have to mow the hood of your car. @Judy Berube of the NE chapter–You might be a redneck if you think a date is going out to moon people. @Susan in TN and Kari Bussell-You might be a redneck if you think dingle berries are a fruit. You might be a redneck if you think that the ultimate beauty treatment is Preparation H. You might be a redneck if your outhouse is in your front yard. You might be a redneck if you inherited a styrofoam cooler. Today’s joke–After Osama Bin Laden was killed by American Navy Seals, he thought he was going to the promised land to receive his reward. When he arrived at the pearly gates, he was greeted by George Washington. “How dare you attack the nation I helped to build,” yelled Washington while he slapped Bin Lade in the face. Patrick Henry came up next and punched him in the nose. James Madison came next and hit Bin Laden with a sledge hammer. He was then subjected to similar beatings from John Randolph, James Monroe and 65 other people. As he writhed on the ground, Thomas Jefferson hurled him back toward the gate where he was to be judged. As Bin Laden awaited his journey to his final hot destination, he screamed “This is not what I was promised.” An angel replied “I told you that there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you. What did you think I said?”

@LauraJ. Well said as always. Lane’s End is doing what is best for Zenyatta. That is what matters.
@judy berube. It is indeed great that they call Frankel by the nickname Bobby. I hope that his famous namesake will watch over the horse and bring him home safely to victory on Saturday. Go Frankel, and run like the wind!

Thanks so much for the info in regards to Star Billing and Nereid in their race at Keeneland on Saturday. Wishing them both the best, love them both and it makes it so hard to watch, knowing that one will do better than the other. Just hope that they both do well and finish safe and sound. Sure miss you and bet you are looking forward to seeing your John soon. Miss you so much and love you lots Zenyatta. I think of you each and every day and it makes me feel so much better. Sending love and blessings with oodles of hugs too!

Debbie G
Your friend Nereid sure is beautiful, Zenny. I hope her and your other friend Star Billing do well on Saturday. I love you, Z!
@Kari Bussell – Yay! Kentucky beat Tennessee last night! (OK, so it was in women’s volleyball, but I have to take what I can get!)
@All Z’sters – I was just curious if any of you that are going to Zenyatta’s party are going to the BC on Saturday, also.
Barbara Wood
@Lil in Ky–welcome back. Thanks for letting us know what you’re doing. Hope the move goes well.
@Terry Crow–LOL! I always enjoy the jokes, even when I don’t mention it.
@Sharon in SEattle–have a great time with your friends.
@Kari Bussell–thinking of you.
@DJ–ditto.
Brenda S..
@ Barbara Wood – You can get HRTV on your computer. They are live streaming their programs until Nov. 6. I have been glued to my computer since I was told about it and recently sat for 7 hours watching races from all over the country.
@ Terry C – I can hardly believe that Canada Post managed to deliver that letter but the address is a hoot. Maybe the first redneck was a Canuck. I don’t think highly of Can. Post, the name “snail mail” truly describes their service. Loved your rednecks and the joke today.

Good evening Zenyatta,
whispering in your ear, eh? I’m sure you’re always glad to visit with one of your VIPs.
Can’t wait for the weather to turn cool & stay cool. I bet you’re feeling much better in cool weather, too, after all you’re sweating for two. :) :)
Have a restful night and dream sweet

Good Evening Zenyatta I hope you are having a wonderful evening. I know you are so happy to see your friends and John.
@Dawn C. My Sis it is so nice to hear from you. Thank you for your kind words and I am looking so forward to seeing War Horse too. I hope you get to feeling better. I am looking so forward to seeing the Documentory on Charismatic Too. I so hope he gets to come home at the end of his career. I did hear them say that Silver Charm was going to get to come back.
@Sally B, it is so very good to hear from you, It sounds like we think alike. Hope you still get to come to Ocala in March. Its sounds like those are going to be some pretty nice sales then.
@Dawn C. you will have to come to the OBS sales too sometimes. I would love to go to the Mayberry’s training Center, going to have to find out if they will let you visit.
I am planning on getting back to Kentucky next year. Just love going there. I ate at the best little restaurant right in the downtown area, it was just this little Mom and Pop sort of restaurant I was thinking about it today. It was just delicious, home cooked food like Meatloaf vegetables Roast Beef, It was suggested by the hotel and they were really righton it was very good. I am going to have to ask and find out the name of it again, I will post it latter if any of you are enterested in knowing.
Safe trips to everyone racing this weekend and always.
Get Well Frazier
Love to all, Peggy

That’s Downtown Lexington. Oops, sorry didn’t even tell you the town.

Good evening sweet Zenny, Dottie & Dumplings:
I think it’s too much fun that YOUR JOHN is busy doing something special for/related to you — something for you to ponder until he sees you one-on-one, right? And Nereid — beautiful portrait. I’m excited to see how she goes Saturday!!!
@ DAWN & ALL: RE: WAR HORSE.The book is absolutely amazing — great way to teach children about war. Speilberg aside, here’s a clip from the play debut in London England & another clip that explains about “war horses.” I’m planning to see the play in New York in November — can’t wait!!!!
