Good Morning,
It is a bit rainy here this morning and the weather is about 57ish. The temperature has cooled off a bit, but it is still quite pleasant. One thing I have learned while living in Kentucky, the weather can change very quickly. One must always be prepared.
I was wondering how my pals, Nereid and Star Billing, like it here. Dottie commented that it is rather HOT today in California…in the high 80’s. I know MY JOHN would have definitely prepared for the change in temperature in respect to these 2 fillies. Knowing him, he brought some nice, comfy blankets for them to wear….especially in the evening.
Entries were drawn Wednesday for their race, The Queen Elizabeth Challenge Cup–G1. The race runs at 5:45 Eastern Time. Star Billing drew the one hole (she will be wearing RED) and Nereid is in post 5 (wearing a GREEN saddle towel). The morning line for both of them is 6 to 1. There is a field of 8 entered and Winter Memories is the favorite at 6-5. Summer Soiree is 2 to 1. Here’s wishing all of them a GREAT TRIP!
I know MY JOHN is in town. After morning training today, he went to Louisville for a bit. I heard he was out doing a ‘special project in relation to ME’ this morning. This is TOO CUTE!
I wonder what it is? I’m sure he’ll whisper it in my ear when he comes to visit!
Have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Hi Zenny: Be sure to tell us what your John is up to. Well Zenny I will not be able to attend the BC, but I will be watching the races on my new flat screen TV. I can’t wait. I am glad to hear your party is going well. You must be very excited. Nereid looks like he is enjoying the great state of Kentucky. Take care Zenny!
Yvonne and Maurice
Hi Zenyatta. What a gorgeous pic of Nereid. Good luck to them and may all of the horses running this extended weekend have a safe trip. Sounds like some fall weather in Kentucky, CA is getting 100 degree weather. We had beautiful weather today in Texas, around 80 degrees. Looking forward to seeing all of the great racing, especially Frankel. Can’t wait. Can’t wait to find out what John has in store for you!! Stay comfy, eat well for 2 and enjoy your time with TT and your other friends. Love you, Angel in Disguise.

Zenyatta, perhaps you can talk Dottie into telling us if John’s horses ever get massages or Reiki treatments. I know that John works very hard at keeping his barns stress free. Today I watched a woman give a quarter horse some Reiki and it was amazing how much the horse relaxed during the session. Have a great party!!

Dutrow tries to maintain business as usual:
QUOTE: “I feel love at the track all the time,” Dutrow said. “I know the fans like me. Maybe some don’t, but most do.”
Is this man for real!! Pathetic!

Another photo of Zenny I uploaded today – it’s from Santa Anita when she first returned from “retirement” She was so excited to be in front of the crowds again and so many people came out to see her – it was a great day. Enjoy.

@ Hi Dawn: Saw the preview of War Horse last week and I cannot wait to see it. I wonder who owns the beautiful horse in the movie. They might be using more than one horse. Thanks for bringing it up. Regards, Marilu

There is an HRTV program on driving
And the career Chester Webber. He found
His lead horse Jamaica, in a feedlot in Belgium,
Waiting for slaughter. He has a Beyer model and
Jamaica was “a champion at heart that is why he
Was so difficult”. A touching equine story.

Can’t believe Dutrow, he is in severe denial.

Just saw Dale Romans is going to run Shakelford in BC
Dirt Mile, hope he has not burned him out too
Much, at least that is what he is thinking.

I was in your area last weekend for opening weekend at Keeneland. We drove down your road and blew you some kisses. Love you!

Dear Signofthetimes:
Well, I hope he’s not to tired too. But, at least the distance should be alright for him. Hugs,JB

Dear Signofthetimes:
That’s quite a story on Jamaica. Had never heard of him before this. He was a lucky one. Hugs, JB

@Laura J
I am sure Zenny’s board is in 5 figures per month
At LE. With special paddock close to all the action
And so very much attention and care by the LE
Employees. She is one lucky horse. As far as visiting
I am afraid it would be more than 100 people more
Like thousands and it is just not feasible due to
Her “delicate condition”.

@Terry Crow
Love the jokes today and of course the redneck
Ones as well especially the one with preparation

Lots of talk about So You Think coming to BCC, wouldn’t
That be a challenge for HDG and Uncle Mo.

@Dawn Conrad
Frankel’s trainer has said he thinks the turns
At Churchill Downs are to tight for him. The would have
To spend some time training him to run to the right
And take sharp turns. Wonder if there is time for this.
He felt SA would be a better place for him to run.

Happy Day to you, dear Zenyatta. I wonder what Your John is up to. Something good I’ll bet.

@Barbara Grimaldi @luvscritters @LauraJ: Just left a post for you at the end of #355. I have enjoyed the civil discussion and the points made on all sides of the BL issue.

Dear Signofthetimes:
Yes, Russ did enjoy today’s joke. You are so sweet to ask for him. I tell him when any of you ask for him and he is so amazed at the caring people on Z’s site. Hugs JB

Rooting for Winter Memories with all my heart!

@Neried @Star Billing @Winter Memories: Now how are we supposed to pick one of you over the others??? Is it asking too much for a triple dead heat? Well, do your very best, and come home safe!
@You might be a California Redneck if your daddy met your mamma in Encino, and their baby’s first words were, “Like – fer shure”.
@You might be a California Redneck if you look for a Surgeon General’s warning on your bag of Sunflower seeds.

@Judy B.- Those are some cousins you have! I never knew! I’m glad you’re the NE chapter leader of the redneck club — I wasn’t sure you were willing to be a member, it’s a pretty grave responsibility.
@Terry Crow – Love the manure joke! Manure has an old White House endorsement, you likely know: Bess Truman was asked to get the president to say fertilizer instead of manure and she replied, ‘You have no idea how long it took me to get him to say manure.’
Vicki B.
I’m hopelessly catching up a bit here.
#353 @Sharon call – re: your comment to @Barbara Grimaldi that when Zenny’s labor is near, you “Don’t know if the Mosses or John or Dottie will be there or not” — In an interview around the time of the Fall sales or before (which I can’t find now, and I’m not quoting exactly), John said something to the effect that when it gets closer to Zenny’s time, for sure they will go back there and just camp out every day until she foals.
#354 @D Stuart – I had to laugh at your chiding @Terry Crow over your cousins, and “bucking for VP of the Redneck club!” and “diastu-improving-the-gene-pool-one-cousin-at-at-time-in-tempe”. Good stuff!

Dear Vicki B:
Terry C. made me the President of the New England Chapter of Rednecks. I’m taking my responsibilities very seriously. Love that remark by Bess Truman. Brillant. Hugs, JB

Dawn Conrad: Thanks for the link to the interview of Jerry and Ann Moss at the UK Lecture series; your persistance paid off.
To the all Z dumplings: The govenor of Delaware has made Oct. 15th the offical Harve De Grace Day. They will honor her with an appearance and autograph signing by her owner, Rick Porter, at Delaware Park. It seems like some are paying attention to the lessons being taught by the Mosses and by Team Z. And the ladys of racing are keeping the sport going.
Terri Z
Dottie/Zenyatta: Could you please post photos of Life is Sweet (Zen’s former stable mate) by John Sherrifs while he is at Lane’s End? I have only seen a few photos of her and her foal at Bloodhorse. I loved John’s video of him trying to awaken her from her sleep to go out and train; she’s a sweetie pie. And she has some pedigree.
