Happy Monday Everyone,
We have just completed another very exciting weekend of racing with many full fields and competitive events. Congratulations to all of the winners and their connections! To win a race at any level is a big accomplishment…and to win a graded stake is truly something to be cherished.
I sincerely want to send a HIGH HOOF to FRANKEL for his victory on Saturday at Ascot. It is with great respect that I want to congratulate him on his undefeated record that is now 9 for 9. This wonderful colt is competing at the highest level in our sport….and his continued success is something to be treasured!
While at Keeneland, MY JOHN visited with TIGER again….the adorable pony in this photo. Tiger was there last year with his connections when MY JOHN went to Keeneland to run Harmonious. He is laughing here as it reminds him that ALL HORSES ARE “TOO CUTE”. They simply come in various shapes and sizes blessed with different capabilities and goals! This thought is so true…and can be applied to so many different aspects in all levels of life.
Just thinking…only 18 days until Breeders’ Cup….and this means….only 18 days until MY PARTY. Wow! This is all so exciting. Also, I can’t wait to share with YOU what MY JOHN whispered in my ear when we visited.
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Hi Zeny: Tiger and John look so happy together. Hope you had a good weekend. Just wondering now that EBBY has your stall, what did John do with all your stuff? Hugs and kisses, Marilu

@JAG-Awaiting the final results on the LAT situation. @Kennedys in San Diego-Thanks for the update on Blind Luck. We all hope for the best. @Susan in TN-Charity does begin at home. Tomorrow I will post the information needed for all to make donations. @Susan in Tn and Kari Bussell-You might be a redneck if you have ever tried to get a date with a telemarketer. You might be a redneck if you have ever had a family member entered in the county fair. You might be a redneck if your outhouse has a plunger. You might be a redneck if you ever made a belt out of duct tape.

Dear Judy B thank you I hope I can bet this way again, I going to try to go to the Breeder’s Cup party, my only problem is that my mother is 93 years old and her health is not good, and my brother and I we take care of her, hugs Ingrid.

Hello again, Zenny. I wanted to tell you that I went to Keeneland yesterday and I was waiting in line to buy a sweatshirt and I looked around and the lady behind me in line had on a Z hat. I got to talking to her and another lady in line about how wonderful you are. They both went on and on about how much they love you. (Of course, I did too.) I’ve been trying to follow J Smith’s advice about talking to people to try to come out of my shyness, and you are the perfect icebreaker! I love you, Zenny!
@Kimberly Potter – Congratulations! I hope everything goes well tomorrow.

Zenny-SIMPLY THE BEST!
JAG / California :-)
@ Debbie G

When I’m at the track, I have NO problem talking to peeps… best place to meet horse lover ;-)

Zenny, This picture is perfect…John and a horse, no matter the size, he loves them all.
We’re on pins and needles waiting for the news. Are they naming a race after you?
Is that the surprise?
Ingrid Arnone
To: Trina N thank you,
To: Marshall thank you,
To: Deborah R thank you,
To: Eveline thank you,
I only hope I can bet this way again, hugs Ingrid.

That is a great picture of John and Tiger the pony. That pony is SO cute. I wish I owned him. If I had the money, you can bet the world that I would buy him or a pony like him. Like I said in the previous post, I very very deeply regret that I couldn’t see the Ascot race which Frankel won. Frankel should be named horse of the year for the world or something very close to it. Very few horses in the world are at his level or close to it. Zenyatta, despite this, the Breeders Cup will not be the same without you racing in it. At the Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus this past weekend, they had some fabulous, beautiful horses and I really hated seeing them as well as the circus itself leave my home town. It was 2 big horses and 2 ponies and some other animals. I liked the white horse the best. That was my favorite part of the circus.

Dear Zenny, A lovely picture of YOUR JOHN and I’m so glad that you got to spend some time with him. I’ll bet he gave you a few kisses when he whispered in those gorgeous ear of yours. I’ve been so busy the last few days that I haven’t had time to write anything but I’ve been reading everything. I had a leak in the main water pipe into the house so that involved a huge hole in the front of the house and on the same day I had satellite TV installed so it was somewhat busy. Since then I’ve been trying to figure out how the new TV system works. I’m such a dummy when it comes to tech things so I’m still trying to find the channels I want. Great news about Frankel and his win, it was a safe weekend of racing. Hope you and Tasty are taking care of each other.

HI Zenny, Baby Zeebee, Dottie & fellow Zen-sters:
This has got to be one of THE CUTEST photos of YOUR JOHN ever, Zenny! I just love the look on his face. It’s the same look & smile he always wore when he was talking about YOU, big girl. TOO ADORABLE!
@ Judy Berube: Thanks for the link to the Zenny part of the NBC broadcast. Boy, but doesn’t she look great? And I just loved the shot of her with John!!!!
ALL: I keep forgetting to mention this to everyone….Did you realize that you can download Youtube stuff on Zenny or by OUR KARI or whomever? Then you can burn copies on a DVD disc and keep these precious video records FOREVER! All you do is copy the URL (top of the screen) of a Youtube video you like, then go to: http://www.savevid.com
Paste the URL that you copied into the URL box + press DOWNLOAD. If a box comes up that asks for permission, tell it YES or the equivalent (can’t remember the exact word here). It will then ask you what version you want. Choose MP4 — it’s the BEST QUALITY. Then it will DOWNLOAD the video/clip and when it’s done, it will come up in your DOWNLOADS (automatically) on a MAC & the equivalent on a PC. Just click it, drag it onto your desktop and it’s yours!!!! I’ve saved TONS of footage that way and then burned my own DVD’s. So I have footage of Zenny from when she hit the screen, years back now. And I can watch her anytime that I want!!!!!
ALSO: Where is OUR KARI? Or have I missed her postings????
@ THE KENNEDYS: Darn right! I hope her goat & kitty are going with her. Otherwise, she should throw a Seabiscuit-worthy fit!!!!
Abigail from Montreal
P.S. I have posted this before, but as it was AGES ago and we have new Zensters joining up all the time, here’s a Youtube video I made — having been inspired by OUR KARI — of Zenyatta’s Dance. I actually sent off a copy to Dottie & John after last year’s Breeders’ Cup, where Zenny ran in memory of my great friend, Marjorie Dawn Cooper Gawley, who had died of cancer a few months earlier. This video gave her joy in her final weeks.

@Kimberly Potter—Good luck to your daughter-in-law and her baby as birth is induced tomorrow.
@Deborah Richman—Happy “birth” day tomorrow to both you and your grandson-to-be, if he arrives on schedule.
@JAG—LOVE that Snowman!
@#1 New England Fan and JAG—Thanks for the heads up about the handsome Mikey winning on Handsome Mike! Too Cute!
@Denise in AZ—I’m SO sorry your hubby didn’t get that job—please tell him we all have faith in him and that we’ll be praying for another position to open up for him.
@The Kennedys in San Diego—Thank you for the update on Stall 85. It’s a little bittersweet, isn’t it? I give my wholehearted congratulations to Eblouissante on her “moving up” to Z’s stall, and to Mario, too, but where will all the memorabilia now be?
Trina Nagele
@DJ—Thanks for the posts.
@Debbie G.—HIGH HOOF on your Z conversations! Has your Dumpling tag arrived yet?
@Susan in TN—That’s not your personal ticket, I hope? You’ll be there, won’t you?

Follow-on to Jerry Hollendorfer:
Because there was no offering of a reason(s) for the comment that Hollendorfer isn’t good to/for horses, I turned to Google to see if something could turn up there. I believe I did it, and if this is the sole basis for vilifying Hollendorfer by saying he is no friend of horses, shame.
There is, on the internet, a petition being circulated, “Trainer of the Year” Runs Horse to Death. Sure makes me mad to think a trainer literally ran a horse til it fell over dead. And if it doesn’t you, then shame on you.
HOWEVER, such is NOT THE CASE with Hollendorfer. And the petition itself NEVER points anywhere that this is the case! They even link the horse in questions last 3 races, the first of which she led til the top of the stretch before fading to third place. The second, I believe was a 4th place finish; I didn’t see where she finished in the last race. And at least in one of the races she was running with her ears forward like Zenny.
But it doesn’t end with that particular outrage. No….there has to be a lot of other innuendos of things like bone chips, old fractures, rand the like to suggest that the trainer was running with broken bones, etc. Chips may, or may not, bother horses as most of us know.
His crime……..he sold a horse apparently through an auction house that sold to kill buyers! GASP*
A perfectly legitimate business activity at the time. I may not like that; you may not like that. But it is not illegal.
He is something like the4th leading trainer of all times. One doesn’t reach that pinnacle by not taking proper care of the animals entrusted to you. He has won racing training titles in Northern California a ‘zillion’ times, and has won one at Arlington Park and another track, as well. Of course, titles don’t mean you’re a good person, but you’d be hard pressed to find a bad person this successful.
A sidebar to this: someone tossed out a comment which suggested that he sold Blind Luck in order to avoid an investigation of her last race. Holy cow. Just because the horse gets sold he, nor anyone else, would be relieved of being investigated and he certainly isn’t in a position of authority to quash such an investigation if one was ordered.
And I would add one final thing. Once a reputation is tarnished, its hell getting it back. This was brought home back in the 1980s when Ray Donovan, Secretary of Labor, under Ronald Reagan, was accused of all types of crimes and such. He was acquitted after spending a small fortune. When it was over, he asked (Paraphrasing}, “Now where do I go to get my reputation back”.
Finally, please think about what is being said and done on Zenyatta’s diary. Mr. Moss is on the California Horse Racing Board. How do you think he would feel if someone broached him about this diary bad-mouthing a legitimate trainer—or jockey—or racing regulation.

As if I haven’t taken up enough space today, here’s a Blood-Horse favourite of Zenyatta arrives @ Keeneland (Dec.6) ….and what kind of a team is Team Z? Well, everyone’s exhausted, including you, Big Girl, but you spend time with your fans anyway. Here’s Dottie, Mario, John, Mikey & the Mosses on a night that must have been so hard for them, greeting Zenny’s fans at Keeneland in the FREEZING COLD!!!

hi Z! Tiger and YOUR John are TOO CUTE!!! I enjoyed all of the racing, especially Frankel’s win! I wish wish wish I could go to YOUR party and BC!!! Love YOU gorgeous mama xoxoxo
Rosemary McCauley
Zenyatta and Dottie – thank you for posting the picture of the darling pony. I wish I could have him in my back yard.
@Terry Crow and all rednecks: Love the jokes. Great way to start a morning, with a good chuckle. Keep them coming. Can’t wait for John’s news to Zenyatta to be made public.
LauraJ
@Trisha, while all of us are glad that Zenyatta retired sound, you are wrong about both Secretariat and Seabiscuit. Secretariat retired sound. He was euthanized due to laminitis at age 19, which is horrible but most likely unrelated to his racing career. Seabiscuit died of a heart attack seven years after his retirement.

@Abigail in Montreal—Thanks SO MUCH for the instructions on how to download youtube videos and then burn a DVD of them—I’ll try to get a friend with a DVD burner to do it for me! And thanks for the lovely video of our Queen dancing her way to the starting gate. BTW, we are indeed due for another post from OUR DEAR KARI!
@The Kennedys and Abigail–I so agree that Blind Luck should refuse to go without her kitty and goat—remember Kincsem would never go anywhere without her kitty too!
JEANNE WOLVERTON
They are advertising for The Breeders Cup. and I keep seeing you almost win, over and over and over……………….

Tiger is truly TOO CUTE! And I think that Susan in TN is correct, Tiger is preparing for the Cuteness Classic! The unbelievably cute Sophie Shirreffs has prepared John well for working in that catagory :)
Although in this year’s CC, if Laura J is right, Little Silver Charm’s hair could put him over the wire :)

Thanks for posting Z snd John video, do you believe
Verizon 4 G network has been out for 2 days. Also,
So very glad E has Z’s stall. No matter how she races
She should be the next equine in that stall. She is her 1/2
sis. It is time To move on, E to start her racing career and Zenny
To have her first foal. And who better to be E groom than Mario,
Particularly since she wants to have her own way. Mario
Has been very successful at making Z think she had her own
Way, he will definately be E’s number one man.
