Good Morning,
Yesterday’s post…thank you for all of your loving comments!
A few days ago, I had some very special visitors. The man on the left is Don Robinson. I was foaled and raised at his farm, Winter Quarter, in Lexington, Kentucky…not too far from where I live now. He has come to visit ME several times during my racing career and since I’ve returned to Kentucky. I know him very well!
The gentleman on the right, scratching one of my favorite spots, is my breeder, Eric
Kronfeld. Wow! It was so great to see both of them. Eric followed MY racing career very closely and constantly stayed in touch with what was going on in MY LIFE with MY TEAM.
Both of these gentlemen touched my life in a very special way. In reality, if it wasn’t for my breeder planning the mating that he did for my MOM, Vertigineaux, to Street Cry, I wouldn’t be here.
Then when I was foaled, Don, was right there. He made sure that everything went well for ME while I was growing up as a young foal and yearling.
It is interesting to note that MY breeder is also the gentleman who bred and owns my baby sister, EBLOUISSANTE. Don foaled and raised her as well! So HOOVES CROSSED for all of these members of ‘MY FAMILY’ as ‘E’ embarks on her racing career at BARN 55.
LIFE IS SO INTERESTING! When one reflects upon certain things that happen in his/her life, the timing of certain decisions being made seems to play such an instrumental role in what happens in life….probably much more than one can say.
It was really so great to see ERIC and DON again! These are truly 2 very important people in MY LIFE! I can’t THANK THEM enough for the very early decisions they made…which had such an impact on ME becoming ME!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

@Charlotte Farmer – So wonderful to see your message. I miss you and think about how you are doing often! I too feel that Karen certainly is one very special lady.
@The Kennedys – Loved your post about E. She really does have a way of capturing your heart immediately. So very beautiful.
@Debbie G – How fantastic that you got to see Rachel today. I got up close to her at Churchill Downs and she won her race going away that day. Amazing! I have been checking on visit Rachel days, but it has not worked out, but I’ll keep trying. It would be so great if I could meet up with you, Susan in TN and all the other Dumplings at Zenny’s party. Still seeing if it might work. I know I am running out of time.
@Susan in TN – Yes, way too fun!! If you don’t mind, I would love if you could send me an e-mail as to your plans.

HRTV talking heads just showed Ladies Classic

Turn of foot. I guess in general it means acceleration
With an explosive move.

Racing alerts: Barn 55’s RANDAZO and SARBONNE are slated to run in the 5th race Saturday at Santa Anita. Also running that day in the Anoakia Stakes (race 3) will be the Moss’ super-impressive filly, SISTER MOON. She is definitely one to watch!
Kari: 12th heart.

Dear Signofthetimes:
Let’s hope he is OK and they decide to let him run in the Mile. The Classic’s 1 mile and 1/4. I think he would do better at a mile. What do you think? Hugs, JB

Love you, Zenyatta!

Dear Signofthetimes:
Z was like a really powerful engine (Horse Power) she would rev up and then just explode into another gear and pass by every other horse. Beautiful and amazing to watch. Hugs, JB

@Trina Nagele and JAG/California – thank you both re Zoo Day! I will keep my fingers crossed that it will be a date I can make. Would love to meet you and other Dumplings :-) Trina, will contact you.

Dear Zenny, The picture today has caused me to reflect on all the humans in your life and how they all have been blessed with a magical touch and a deep love for you. Now, Ebby is in the same caring hands and I have every confidence that she will be given the opportunity to be herself and make her own hoof prints on the track.
@ DMCQ – So glad to know that you are home and comfy in your own space. Many hugs, take care of yourself.
@ JAG – Thanks for the info on the BC TV coverage. My hooves are crossed that my “new and improved” TV coverage via satellite will let me see all the BC races but programs seem to change abruptly at the US/Canada border. I will have to ask my daughter to record it all in case it’s another “NOT IN CANADA”.

Dear Zenyatta. I thank both of those men. You have made such an impact on my life. I got my Breeder’s Cup Magazine today. There is a really GREAT article about you and your family. Your on the cover with Blame. I wish I could go to the BC but I just can’t swing it. That is ok I am hoping this summer Kentucky again Yea!! I love you sweet girl. Have a good night. Many many Hugs and Kisses, Shari XXXOOO

Dear Harriet:
You’re welcome. I think Mr. Robinson is a good, caring person who really loves Z and her family. He’s been in her life from the beginning. Hug, JB

Dearest Z and friends-I am soooooo far behind! Thanks to everyone for all the links to everything to do with our favorite creatures. @Germaine-a most eloquent and moving post, thank you. As for Blind Luck, I couldn’t be happier that she is moving on…..enough said. As for So You Think, I watched him run and O’Brien said he was being put away for the winter! It seems a lot to ask to run him in the Classic, but the horse has a dynamite trainer. Maybe the owners want the horse here. Too bad so many good horses have been lost to injury and cannot run, and NO Z! Stay warm oh great one.

Dear Kennedy’s in San Diego:
Thanks for the link on the article about Life At Ten. I think we’ll never know the whole story. Hopefully she will be purchased at auction by loving, caring people. Hugs, JB

Dear Janet Cutting:
Wouldn’t that be something if Mr. Robinson is at the birth of Z’s foal. Seems fitting. Hugs, JB

Dear Dawn Conrad:
That has happened to me a couple of times when I posted. Just a “glitch”, I think. Hugs, JB

Eric and Don did a great job with our girl. Love the picture! So sorry to hear about Personalized. I am sure that every time a horse passes away at Old Friends Michael and all the people there feel a terrible loss. It makes what they do even more special.

John as a “diamond cutter” – PERFECT image!! Right on, Kennedys in San Diego!

Breeding season??

Thank you for the wonderful story about your history as a young horse. These men should be very proud of you! I don’t think we will ever see another horse like you in our lifetime. Nitey nite ZZZZZZ.

Dear Princess E
My, I bet you have grown since I saw you on dear John’s birthday back in June and on Holly Park Gold Cup day! You were just a baby! From what I hear now, you have grown some, huh? You look so beautiful in the recent photos, and have that regal look, too, as your big sister Zenny. You liked to play as I remember, taking the ladies hats off and flinging them around and then onto the ground! Too Cute! As I recall, you are strong too, exhibiting that on John’s birthday when you wouldn’t let me hold you close for a nose nuzzle! All you wanted to do was play, play and more play! Well, after all you are just a tween you know – and tweenie boppers do stomp their feet (your case hoof) on the ground and kinda dance around a lot! But you must remember this, as I am sure John has instructed you by now – all business on the track young lady, play time later! I am sorry that you will not be known as Queen, your big sister will always be the one and only Queen – but I will call you The Tween E from now on…as you have yet to grow into that of Princess E, but it is getting closer and closer everyday dear little BIG one – it won’t be long! I will be there to cheer you on as I did your big sister, wouldn’t miss that day for the world! Thank you Mr Kronfeld for sharing your beautiful girl with us, and gracing us with her presence at Hollywood Park, Barn 55 and with John Shirreffs as her trainer – bless you and your family – she WILL be a winner!
