Good Morning,
There is always so much going on in our industry! That is what makes it such a fascinating sport! On Sunday evening, Fasig Tipton had their select sale. Horses of quality…both in race record and pedigree sold extremely well.
Then on Monday, the Keeneland November Sale began. The first 2 days have been amazing. If you want to review all of the prices and horses sold, please go to KEENELAND website. Click on SALES….and then the heading for CURRENT SALE. You will be able to see the results. They are also showing the sale as it is taking place live, if you’d like to see that as well. It is all quite interesting.
On a personal note, the TOO CUTE part of the last few days is that MY JOHN got to see 2 of my family members at different stages of their development. In the above photo, my yearling 1/2 sister by Henrythenavigator is just beginning to learn to take direction….to turn to the left…..and then turn to the right. Every single part of this learning process is extremely important. One step builds upon another until a horse is ready to get a rider on it’s back and go to the training track. These detailed steps are all part of the early stages of the ‘breaking process’. Patience is so important and each day a step forward is hopefully taken.
The other family member, my weanling 1/2 sister also by Henrythenavigator, sold on Monday at the Keeneland Sale. She is now several months old….and to quote MY JOHN….quite good looking! Since he knows ME so well and now spends so much time with EBLOUISSANTE, he loves to see how the entire family is developing. I think he sees so many family traits in all of us: strong hind quarters, adorable ‘inquisitive ears’, and good bone structure!
The weanling was HIP 36 and sold to Adena Springs Farm for $1,500,000 Dollars. John tried to capture the video of her selling in the ring for you. Here’s the video.
Hmm! I must say, my family is TOO CUTE! It is great fun keeping up with all of them and their progress! I wonder what these 2 fillies will be named by their owners?
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Oh, by the way, so many of you asked about my poster of the Jaime Corum painting. The final details for my new SHOP are just getting completed. The link to purchase this poster will be available by the end of the week. It is really very special…if I say so myself! (Blush, Blush!)
Lori
Hello today, pretty girl. I can’t wait to find out more information about the poster. I think it would look great in my horse racing room, next to my other photos of you :)
Lori
Wow, first post today! Sending love to your baby sisters! They are indeed Too Cute!

Good morning baby girl. I’m about to leave to go have my autograph poster of you put into a frame…I can’t wait. Your portrait will do some much for my living room. You have the best day possible, you are the greatest, love you baby girl.

Hey Z!
Glad you had a great party!
Speaking of family, our Canadian show jumping team lost a family member on Sunday when the GREAT Hickstead passed away after a competition on Sunday.
Canada horse world right now is devastated. A HUGE loss.
Everyone give your horse a hug today and give Z an extra pet b/c you just never know what the next moment can bring :( :( :( :(

Zenny and Dottie – what a wonderful post today!! You have, no surprise, a beautiful family. Your little weanling 1/2 Sis is adorable!! And you just never know where YOU are going to show up; I came across this today: http://www.sentient.com/story1/breeders-cup-in-quest-of-the-perfect-trip.html
I just loved seeing you and recognition of your owners! Since we could not make it to your party, George and I are very much looking forward to seeing your posters on sale. Will we also be able to buy any of the jewelry? I hear great things about your friendship bracelet and would LOVE any updates you have on your Z pins.
Jeanie
Dear Great One,
Your little SIS has your EARS! WOW! If it weren’t for the color, you two could be twins. She really reminds me of YOU. Hope you are having a great day today. Love YOU!

They’re both gorgeous- you’ll have to keep us posted on what they name them and how they progress.. Can you believe 8.5 million on one horse?? I’m still in shock over that one!
Hugs to all

Looking forward to your shopping website. Can’t wait to decorate my “horseracing loft”. A trbute to you and some other favorites.
I think your sister in this picture looks like a pretty big girl! But, there is NO OTHER YOU. Have a wonderful day!

Z, She is very pretty, but she is just not you. Do you really think she steal the hearts of your fans?

Zen – my niece has developed a love for horses as I had and still do. She has posters of horses all over her walls – even Barbaro – who she is keeping alive, and now she is going to have YOU for her wall! I am so excited.
Kiss kiss, smooch smooch

Love the photo of your yearling half sister and your weanling half sister looks amazingly like you in the head, ears and neck. She is really beautiful. And here’s a bit of trivia – I believe the handler in the sale ring is the same handler you had when you sold as a yearling to the Mosses and your truly amazing journey began.

Good morning! I, too, start my day by reading your diary and, if I have time, keeping up with all that write comments. Yes, we have all become friends through our love and admiration for you, Zenyatta! I am sorry to have missed your party, sounds like it was a fun time. Is there any way those of us who do not “do” facebook can enjoy the photos?
My mother hears all about you on a nearly daily basis as I speak with her every morning on my way to work. She does not have a computer, so has no access to updates and she is a HUGE fan of yours. At 84 years old, I am so happy to see her interested and so enthusiastic. Waiting for the foal to be born keeps her eagerly looking forward. She has several questions that I would like to ask either you or others who read this and know more about equine pregnancy than I do! My mom and I raise dogs (Vizslas are my breed, Bichon Friese and Lhasa Apsos are hers) and know all about canine pregnancy and whelping (delivering)but very little about horses.
How often does the vet come to see you for a check?
Will you foal in your current barn or will you go to a special foaling barn?
How soon will you and your baby be frolicking around in the paddock?
When will your baby be introduced to others? Or are horse mamas like dog mamas, trying to keep the babies away from others?
Will you return to your current barn and paddock with your baby to mingle with Tasty and her baby?
So many questions!!
Thanks, in advance for your answers!
Lynn Martin and my mom, Onnie Martin

P.S. Can’t wait to check out your new SHOP. So many things I want.

Zen – your sister’s are stunning. Can’t wait to see how they develope. The weanling looks so much like you, except for the color. You will have to let us know what the new owner’s name her.
Hugs,
Stephanie
Hey Zenny! I like keeping track of your family also. As a huge Giants Causeway fan I have always had a close eye on Souper Spectacular, whom I believe is 2 years younger than you. Have you heard anything about him? I haven’t in some time. Thank you for your time and updates!
Victoria
sorry Zenny but today you are showing the thing I like the least about racing- a yearling in training (and in real time 9-10 mos old)- I wish race horses could start their careers when they are more mature…

Dear all: I read Z’s post everyday I seldom post any comments myself. However, I would like to bring to the attention of all you good decent people a story that posted on Rachel Alexandra’s website yesterday regarding a baby filly named Autumn’s Hope who needs our help as she is a victim (as was her Mother) of the most cruel of humans. Her poor Mother in her weaken state died given birth to this little miracle, if you have the time today please visit http://www.hopeforhorses.net or Rachel Alexandra’s website for all the information on how we as a horse loving community can help. Thank you for your time.

@Jenn, It is so very sad about Hickstead. He was such a GIFTED show jumper and a truly handsome individual!!

YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT BEING PATIENCE WHEN TRAINING A HORSE. REALLY AT ALL TIMES. THEY TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WE WANT TO DO, BUT IT IS SOMETIMES THE TRAINER, WHO IS LEARNING THE HORSES WAYS. HORSES DONT UNDERSTAND FRUSTRATION. IF YOU GET UPSET, THE HORSE HAS NOT LEARNED ANYTHING EXCEPT FEAR. HORSES WANT A GENTLE WAY OF BEING TRAINED. THEY WANT TO PLEASE. YOU ZENNIE ARE A PERFECT EXAMPLE. LOVE TO ALL..SHERRY D.

Afternoon Z! It was such a great experience meeting all of Team Z at the early party on Friday. I forgot to ask. Now that you are expecting, can you still roll on the grass or is that dangerous? I had two of the Zenyatta drinks in your honor since you shouldnt drink while pregnant.
Also, I didnt hear who won the personal visit with you that was drawn at the party! Bet they had a terrific time.

What beautiful sisters you have,Zenny! Must say thought that I don’t feel the yearling will have your height – she still looks really small, while the weanling looks like she may give your height a run for the money! And I think she may be a dancer like you, just watching how she moved around in the ring. And what gorgeous coloring she has! Very unique!
Love you,Sweet Zen!
Linda
Love you Z, but I just can’t get used to seeing a long yearling with a saddle on. No wonder most of these race horses are done by 4 years old.
Sara Kelly
@ Victoria, the yearling pictured is not 9-10 mo. old (that would be a weanling) it is more likely around 20 mo. old, and will be considered a two year old Jan1, as will all the 2010 foal crop. The filly in the video is more likely to be nine to ten months old.

A Zenyatta shop could be very bad for the wallet! Shop til you drop! Love you Zenyatta! ^-^

Hi Zenny, Sweetie!
I love it: Good bone structure! TOO CUTE! I always felt John Henry had big ears, but you, and your “family”, have bigger (beautiful) ears! :-)

Jenn, yes I am sooo sorry for the devastating loss of Hickstead. I am soo soo sorry for Eric Lamaze, Canada and all who loved that GREAT CHAMPION showjumper.
Talk about heart and soul. That horse was an amazing horse and their story together is wonderful. I was lucky to see him at the World Equestrian Games where he was voted THE BEST HORSE in the Grand Prix competition. For anyone who reads this you must you tube some of Hickstead and Lamaze and if you can help it don’t watch his death. The best are their accomplishments.

Typo: That should have been “Bump” not Bumo LOL
