Good Morning,
All of you are SO SWEET! Thank you for the kind comments regarding the photo yesterday. I’ll try to address some of the questions many of you asked here.
Firstly, MY TAIL is fine. I never had a lush tail. It was MY DEAR MARIO who worked so hard to keep it looking terrific. Here at Lane’s End, MATT helps ME with it as well. In yesterday’s photo, the wind was blowing and it was partially hidden. It is just fine…and NO, TASTY does not touch it. WE both always want to look our best…and having a nice tail is part of the LOOK! We respect this with each other.
Many of you asked about the SIZE difference between the two of us. I am a pretty tall girl, as you know, I’m right at 17 hands in height. In yesterday’s photo, I have my head held very high while I’m cuddled up to MY JOHN. (He is 6′ 2″.) I’m also in the front portion of the photo and TASTY is standing more in the background. She is a very well-built horse as well, and per MY JOHN, she is about 16.2 hands. She just appears smaller in this photo due to the fact that she is ‘peeking in at us’ while she poses and not standing as tall as she normally would. I really think it is a very cute picture and shows how sweet we are with each other. I enjoyed sharing MY JOHN with her!
You know photography…sometimes if you are the one in the front…you appear a bit ‘larger’ than the images, horses, or people in the back. I am taller than TASTY but not by as much as it appears in this particular photo. She is a very attractive and well-balanced horse in her own right.
Yes, MY JOHN did check my legs. I have figured it out now that he simply can’t resist the opportunity to do so when he is around ME. In reality, it is second nature to him… and I must say…I really enjoy it! It reminds me of the many special moments I spent with him. Now, though, it is TOO CUTE! He has added a new dimension to this ‘checking up on ME’…and that is touching my BABY BUMP! He gives ME (and BABY TOO) several adoring and loving ‘pats’ on the TUMMY!
What do you think JOHN….is MY FOAL a colt or a filly? Only time will tell!
It is so hard to believe that the time is flying by so quickly. My due date is in early March. TASTY and I are both due to foal then. It will be interesting to see how much ‘we grow’ during the next few months!
I’ll keep you posted!
Have a great day!
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Thanks for letting us into your life after your amaizing racing career. Not to often can you “get to share” part of something so special for their life. My sister and I watched you run on TV and now it feels like we are getting to be a part of you. Keep on being amaizing.

Hi Z!
You are such a beautiful mom-to-be! Thank you for sharing your pregnancy with us.
You know, after your little one is born, you can give Trifecta a try. It is wonderful – it makes your coat shiny and helps with hoof and hair growth. Our mare, Kate, always had a shorter tail than the rest of the girls at the barn. We thought she felt a little self-conscious about it. But, once she started using Trifecta, it was amazing how fast her tail grew. I have no connection with the product but just giving a testimony to its usefulness.
No matter what, though, you are beautiful inside and out – long or short tail! :-)
Enjoy your grazing!

Hi Zenny, last night I was lying in bed trying to go to sleep and I was wondering for a few minutes exactly when your due date is, and here, this morning, you tell us! I can mark my calendar for “Early March.” Time flies and before you know it…. :) You look beautiful, as always. This morning I had a little “Zenyatta’s career revisited” session on Youtube. It was so much fun to see all your races again, and pics of you dancing, and even your first time out in the snow at Lane’s End. Every once in awhile I do this, because it just makes me feel good :)

I gave Mario a bottle of “Cowboy Magic” for Zenyatta’s tail before her last retirement “party”, which he said he used. Stuff works great. We agreed that her tail was the only part of her that wasn’t “perfect”!

Good Morning Queen Z. You look soo beautiful and healthy.
I would like to thank Dottie and all those who made your Zenyatta Cellabration such a wonderful event. I was fortunate enough to be there for the luncheon and got to see you via live feed. The food was wonderful and being from TX I loved the Bar-B-Q with all the trimmings! It was great to meet your Team Z. Your team is a very special group of people. They made everyone feel very special to be there.
My son and grandson were born in March so you chose a wonderful month to foal. Can’t wait to see which sex the little one will be. Believe me, it will be dearly loved.
Hope you have a great day. Love you always. Lou

Good morning all. You could tell that Tasty was definitely in the background in yesterday’s photo. She has to be very special to be selected as Zenny’s BFF! Mario has to be the BEST groom out there. YOU always looked so spectacular, Zenny. So glad YOUR JOHN gets to visit you so often. He loves you SO MUCH. Happy Tuesday!

I love reading this FB page and keeping up on the Queen. Can’t wait to see her little one. I was wondering, though, and you may have answered this question before–who is Tasty’s baby daddy? Just curious. Thanks again for sharing Zenyatta with us, her loyal subjects!!

When my mare was pregnant I would pat her belly and say Hi Baby. To this day when I say Hi Baby she will nicker to me. I would also sing to her…

Dearest Zenyatta, you are growing more and more “dumpling-esque” by the day! If your dear John had not gravitated towards a career in training (and how very glad we all are that he did), he might have made a most remarkable veterinarian. I think that your bump will result in a spectacluar, sturdy colt, born on March 7th (sorry, JAG). I hope that your best friend Tasty’s foal will inherit her beautiful color. One would never guess at first glance that she is a daughter of Medaglia d’Oro. Her Canadian dam, Parisia, passed that glorious gray coat to Tasty.

Hi precious Z! You look absolutely beautiful! Isn’t is so wonderful to have a faithful friend like Tasty! And, John is just so precious too! Yep, your tummy is getting pretty big, and I think you are going to have a beautiful and healthy foal. I am just hoping he/she is absolutely healthy in every way. Have a wonderful day!

Cynthia H.—I was just doing some internet research on Ms Tasty the other day and read that she was very successful on the track as well. I bet you two have fun sharing memories of your racing days and all those cute studs that you saw on the track.
