Good Morning,
During the past few weeks, we have had so many fabulous days in Lexington. It was particularly gorgeous weather post Breeders’ Cup. The days were “picture perfect” when MY JOHN and DOTTIE were here visiting and attending the Fasig-Tipton and Keeneland Sales. I know they totally enjoyed each moment while in town.
At the farm, I did want to show them I am also getting my proper exercise each day. Tasty and I have so much FUN and do enjoy our time ‘stretching our legs’ out in the paddock. Obviously, I am not zipping along at 40 miles per hour…as I did when I’d be finishing my races…but I am still moving about at a pretty strong clip.
Whenever I’m really enjoying myself…feeling so free and so completely happy…my tail goes up and OFF I GO.
In addition to her other special qualities, Tasty is a wonderful exercise partner! She is an accomplished race horse having won some very nice stakes races. We ‘play’ quite well together!
I’d like to thank so many of you for adding photos to my FACEBOOK PHOTO section. The party photos are quite special. It was great to see ME there! Lou Naylor from Texas gave a HIGH HOOF to MY PARTY. Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed your time there and the FOOD! I heard it was quite good!
To see some of these photos, please click the FACEBOOK icon on the right hand corner of my Home Page. It will take you to my FB page. Then on the left, click PHOTOS. The ones you have submitted will come up. I particularly like seeing ALL of YOU having a great time! Enjoy!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

@Eveline
Love the interview, too. He is such a nice man. It was very funny when he said he was hard to live with when riding Zenny. From YEAH and shaking is fist; to Whew !!! we won another one. The pressure was very great and he stood up to it well. Too funny when he was given words of encourangement, Oh yeah she can do it”, etcc. He said “lets not talk about it”. So glad he is enjoying riding after 30 years with the same exhuberance as he was as a teen, winning a race with his Grandfathers farm on the table.
@JAG
You are so lucky to get a kiss from Dear Mikey, at DS encouragement.

Hi Zenny: I was wondering if you and Tasty were still able to take jogs around the paddock. Great exercise!! Keep it up. Exercising is very important. My cousin’s horse would always put her tail up when she ran too. Too Cute!
@JAG and Z Dumplings: Have a great time on Saturday. I wish I could be there along with you folks too. Be sure to take lots of pictures!

Yes, lets banter “equine color” off blog; love the site too. So many wonderful TB and their “color analysis”.

@Laura J
Bernie does carry Grey; so maybe Zenny will have a grey foal.
That would be awesome.

@Eveline
What a gorgeous video of the “white TB racing”. Beautiful.

Dear Zenny,
Love the Party photos !!! Your eye looks so relaxed now. In the racing photos, it is very bright and confident, “I am going to win”.
Now it is “This is so much fun and I am free to hang out and do what ever I want when ever I want with my buddy TT”. Such a very beautiful contrast. And happy in both careers. Sweet Dreams

Dottie, I am guessing that the stalls for broodmares are larger than the usual size stalls. Is that correct? Are the broodmares and their foals moved to another site after birth? Won’t be long now. Do you get any special treats for Thanksgiving, Zenyatta? Stay healthy and happy.
Abigail from Montreal
@ Cynthia H. Thank you for the invitation to honour Bobby Frankel. I just lit a candle for him.
@ sign & THE KENNEDYS & all others who posted links: Great reads! Thank you. Makes me realize that I need to get going and write my next piece for THE VAULT!
My sweet Zenny, Dottie & Zensters:
GREAT photo and as a “dumpling” just nearing the end of her first year of retirement I KNOW THAT FEELING!!! Not that I’m doing anything all THAT dramatic, but, like you Big Girl, I’m learning to have fun doing the kinds of things I’ve loved all my life but didn’t have the time to develop and/or share. Finding my new home here, among other animal & horse lovers, is one treasure. You DUMPLINGS ARE MY VERY OWN TASTY TEMPTATION! LOVE YOU ALL —
Allie in Texas
@Kennedys in CA — Omaha was so large he required 2 stalls. Did Zenyatta require 2 stalls made into one large stall when she was racing? Someone told me that you folks would be in the know.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
@Kim S–God bless you and Faith. Please report back to us on what you learn. Praying for her rescue by a loving friend.This situation is reaching critical mass all over the country.
Good night, sweet Z. You and Tasty have sweet dreams. Love you always.

Zenyatta is bigger than Omaha….she used and still uses one stall…horses back in the day WERE not as large as the horses now, for whatever reason. But maybe the stalls WERE smaller back in the day too at certain tracks…anyone know?
Kimberly
What a delightful photograph of you enjoying yourselves…. I makes me smile.
Delrene from Carlsbad - (California)
I could have played half the night away looking at all the pretty color combinations of horses and how genetics plays a part of it. Thanks so much. Facinating. I love that we will not know a thing about your baby until she/or he arrives. I admire your human parents for being “old school” and just happy to be surpried with a filly/or colt- happy and healthy. The best gift of all is you and all the rest is icing on the cake.
Delrene from Carlsbad - (California)
“surprised” I’m tired…..

OH MY!! What an adorably wonderful photo!!
That is a beautifully jolly tail! You and Tasty T are bright stars of happiness!
Love you to the stars and back!

To all those who took a moment to light a candle, offer a prayer, or simply remember Bobby Frankel and the enormous influence which he had on the horses and people entrusted to his care, blessings and thank you.

My Queen Your John (my hero and forever MR. John Shirreffs to me) sure knows how to take a great photo. You look fabulous and so does Tasty. I have LOVED the past 3 diary pictures. The Best! Please thank him for sharing and Dottie (his Lady Love and my heroine for being your voice.What a JOY indeed! Zenyatta you are my inspiration. To look at YOU gives me hope and feels my soul with Joy, Peace, Love. I am so grateful to be alive and to have witnessed all of you greatness…

Dearest Z—Another beautiful picture of you and the lovely TT! Z, you look so great running with your tail held high!
@Terry Crow—Loved your redneck joke on #378. Hope you’re back full-time soon!
@The Kennedys—Loved the story about Well Armed and his caring owner, and the great details of his pre-race ritual. What a guy! Thanks so much for sharing.
@Suzanne G—Too bad Meduna got parole. Thanks for the link.
@Cynthia H—Thank you for your tribute to Bobby Frankel and the gratefulness candle site in his memory.
@Diana S—High hoof on your new TB! I’m looking forward to seeing you when you come west next week and hearing ALL about him.
@Susan in TN—Don’t worry–you can never write too much about Tiny. It is a joy to read about him. I’m so sorry about your getting the wrong “War Horse” book. Doesn’t that strike you as strangely parallel to the video “The Greatest Horse in Europe”? (Albeit clearly not so funny…) Looking forward to hearing more about the fabulous Choctaw when you have the time. As Dawn suggested, what you write now can be the foundation for a future book. You have a great facility for painting a verbal picture and have a delightful light touch in your writing.
@Kim S—Many prayers for the valiant filly/mare just arrived at the Equestrian Inc rescue where you volunteer. Please keep us in the loop about her. She is in good hands now, thank goodness. It was nice to hear that your William and his Lacy are still an item. High hoof to you and your daughter Adrianna for all you are doing to help the horses.
@Signofthetimes—Thank you so much for those details from the interview with Mikie!
@Abigail from Montreal—Love your post!

Physical Handicapping is probably the most powerful knowledge a bettor can have. I look for horses with a long tail. It gives them better balance, and that makes them faster. In your case I don’t think that matters. I’ve seen you make some very coordinated moves and we know how fast you are, especially at the end of the race. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. When I’m at the track I watch the horse’s tail. It should be held slightly up, or relaxed. Beware of the swishing tail. A swishing tail is a sign of discomfort. Bet on exuberant or relaxed horses. Do not bet on uncomfortable horses. There are other things that I look for but since “Post #378 & #379” spoke about tails I thought I would chime in. I’ve been very busy since the summer ended. You know the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary. I hope everything is good with everybody heading into the holidays. I miss the daily joke. I was going to post one but I just can’t remember any right now.
.
Sorry I missed the PARTY.
