@Barbara Wood- How big of scare did we give you? What a nail biter until the last 2 minutes.Your Lady Bears 20 for 21 free-throws is amazing and very hard for any to beat. Congratulations! to you andthe still #1-ranked Lady Bears for beating my beloved Lady Vols! We will remember this if we play you in the tournament…LOL!
Kari Bussell/Good Ole Rocky Top(Whoo!)- Rocky Top Tennessee-Rocky Top Tennessee-ee-ee!!
@Trina Nagele and @ Cynthia H- You BOTH are entirely too precious to me and you both KNOW (that you know) how to leave speechless.
@Sue Freddrick-LOL- I was a honorary cheese-head during the Reggie White years.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
@Kari Bussell– yes, you DID scare us to death. We are thrilled to get out with a win! I would not want to be at practice here tomorrow–LOL! Funny you should mention free throws–we are NOTORIOUS for missing them, but we’re better this year. I thought the whole first half we looked like we were in quicksand.
The Lady Vols played a great game! I’m glad we had on “Back Pat” shirts in blue on the bench as well. I do wish the announcers had not focused so much on Pat’s illness, though. I don’t think she would have wanted them to. I thought she looked good today. This stress today after the football game last night is almost too much for this old lady.
Were you following them in ’04 when we played the Lady Vols in the Sweet 16, and at the end of the game, they called a foul on our girl and put 2/10 second back on the clock? It knocked us out that year, and then we won the championship next year. Never a dull moment. Best of luck the rest of the year…..unless we meet up again…….We really want to beat Geno on the 18th.

More breakdowns? Geeezzz! I stopped watching the races after Go for wand, then, a grey filly brought me back to racing: “Eight Belles!” After her break down in the Derby, again.. I stopped watching and following the sport. Now, the Queen brought me back and thank GOD you are safe and sound, Zenny!! I couldn’t bear to think of you getting hurt! Such a very sad week for the industry! RIP to all that have fallen too soon! Love you big Mamma to be!!

@Kari Bussell – Thank you, Kari, for your kind words. I really appreciate them. I thought of you today. I went to Keeneland because they were having a big Christmas open house and they had a lot of Kentucky memorabilia for sale. They actually had a t-shirt that had the date of yesterday’s game on it with the score “Tennessee 7, Kentucky 10” written across the front of it. You would have thought we’d won the national championship or something! Too funny. LOL I don’t know if they sold any or not, but it is a pretty big deal around here. I’m waiting to see now if it’s going to be a rematch of LSU and Alabama for the national championship. Wouldn’t that be awesome? The SEC rules in football, that’s for sure. Thanks again for your kind words. I hope your Lady Vols do good this year. :-)

Just as I was thinking that Mr. and Mrs. Moss don’t reference the parentage when naming their horses, along comes Alokee. Alokee’s sire is Cherokee Run and Dam is Alchema. Al from the dam, okee from the sire. Maybe there is a chance for “Zendini” for baby Z/B afterall. A side note…Alchema is also the dam of Lutess mentioned above by Cynthia H.

If any of you Califonia Dumplings hear first, please let us know.
Dear Z– I repeat what so many have said. We are so very thankful that this scenario did not happen to YOU.
Delrene from Carlsbad - (California)
I see also from my Equibase result E mail that Surrey Star in the same race as Cloudman was eased up and vanned off also. I pray for all their health and an only hope for the best outcome and I know the connections will do right for these horses. It has been a really tough week of injuries and catastrophic results. I pray for all the horses and riders.
Linda in NJ
Maybe there is something wrong with the track!
Dani
Please let him pull through this. My thoughts and prayers with the Mosses and Dottie and John.

There is a beautiful, uplifting entry on today’s Horse and Man blog that will resonate with many of you who have horses: Dawn Diovera writes about the soothing pleasure of simply sitting and listening, communing really, with her horses as they munch on their hay. http://horseandman.com/
