Good Morning,
I hope all of you had a fabulous weekend. Mine was extremely pleasant and I really enjoyed getting to spend time in my new paddock and stall.
I wanted to share with you THE VIEW I have while I’m out grazing and relaxing in the field. It is terrific! I can literally see everything going on everywhere at the farm. You know I love this… I never want to miss a thing!
TASTY and I have so much room to stretch our legs and enjoy the sunshine. The weather has really been ‘cooperative’ lately. It is not nearly as cold in Lexington as it was last winter when I arrived here.
The weekend’s sporting events were ‘extremely competitive’. I’d mentioned on Friday that I love CLOSE FINISHES… and one could not have asked for a more exciting finish to a SUPER BOWL game than the one we had yesterday. The excitement and contention went down to the last few seconds… and the very last play! The Giants and the Patriots both played very well and had exceptional seasons! Congratulations to each… and a special HIGH HOOF to the N.Y. GIANTS on their victory! What a thrill for them to win 2 of the last 4 Super Bowls! This is a remarkable achievement!
As for my sport, what a weekend of great stakes activity. I’m sending my heartfelt congratulations to all of the winners! My BARN 55 pal, Mr. Commons, deserves a HIGH HOOF from ME for his victory in the Arcadia Handicap (G2). The 3 year old stakes around the country are starting to add some excitement to the Derby picture these days. I must compliment my guy, BERNIE, on the recent victories by some of his top 3 year old colts on the Road to the TRIPLE CROWN. Last week, Algorithms won the Holy Bull (G3) at Gulfstream and Saturday Alpha won the Withers Stake (G3) at Aqueduct! YEAH, BERNIE!
This is all so exciting!
Several people stopped Dottie at Santa Anita on Saturday asking about ME! Thank you so much! To answer several of the questions:
1) I am due at the beginning of March. Being that it is my first foal… one never knows if I will be late or early. I will definitely keep you posted as the month progresses as to how I am doing and ‘any changes’ in my ADORABLE BODY! (Blush, Blush!)
2) I do not know whether I am having a colt or a filly. No one does! My owners like to be ‘surprised’… so they do not have the tests done on their mares to determine this. So… we will ALL find out at the same time.
I must say… not knowing does add a definite element of EXCITEMENT to all of this.
3) TASTY is on the same exact schedule as I am… as we both conceived on the same day… April 3rd. She is in foal to Candy Ride.
4) I am with ALL of my same loving caretakers at my new barn. So is TASTY. This makes it so comfortable for us!
Thank you for asking!
From my new home to yours… here’s wishing you a very happy MONDAY!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

What a wonderful photo Sarah has shared with us today! A most gorgeous view from the most wonderful perspective ever – I love it. I am so glad to know that you are doing so well my Queen and they are taking such good care of you as the big day approaches. We are so fortunate to be able to share in this site. Thank you!

Dear Zenny,
Looks like you are really enjoying the unsually warm KY winter and the soon to be
birth of your foal. Your mane is blowing and I bet that felt so good, maybe you took
off for a little run. The wind always makes horses want to run and play.
Hope you and Tasty had a great day. Guess the big day is early March plus or minus
10-11 days. Love the video of the mare foaling. She was so very quiet, guess not to
rouse any predators. So very trusting she was to have her foal during the day.

Dear Zenyatta. Looking between those beautiful ears of yours at the view in your new paddock was TOO FUN! I am glad that you are still able to see everything that is going on around you. Like you in Lexington, Zenny, this winter has been pretty mild where I live on the Western Slope of Colorado, but the Eastern Slope around Denver has been getting hit with much more bad weather. I hope my Colorado Z-friends are doing well and staying warm!! Wasn’t that Super Bowl game amazing!! As always, I got a real kick out of some of the ads too. I loved watching Mr. Common’s race, he did such a great job coming through that hole during the stretch drive. I have such fond memories of him from Barn 55, he was very sweet to me! I think it is wonderful how well Bernie’s foals are doing, it is fantastic!!! Congrats to all of his connections! Thank you and Dottie for being so kind and understanding in answering all of our questions and giving us such amazing information as we take each “baby” step along the way to your foals B-DAY!! I love you forever and ever!! Say hello to dear Tasty! Sweet dreams. Hugs and kisses. XXXOOO

RIP Boundary. I always thought you were a gorgeous horse, and I loved your son, Big Brown. 22 is way too young to be gone! You still looked spectacular to me in the video of you from 3 years ago. I’m really sad to learn of your passing.

Dear Zenny,
Love to hear Mike Smith talk about Mr. Commons; he is just like a ferrari in the mornings.
So glad he has matured into a very tenacious, brave, determined race horse. Guess
that Artie Shiller stubborness make one very good mature race horse. Good luck
to Mr. Commons in his 4 year old year. Hope we see some more of those John Sherriffs smiles each time Mr. Commons wins.

@On a happier note – sort of: MY PLUSHIE GOT HERE! (Yes I’m yelling – its a redneck trait). But the box it came in had been opened and slopily re-taped and the signed card and birth certificate was not in there. Drat! My baby horse is paperless! Anti-drat! The wonderful lady at Zenny’s Store is sending me another birth certificate.
You know you’re a redneck when your plushie has a birth certificate but your kids don’t.

Great to make a joke; out of something so tragic.
Is the person who took the certificate going to make a fake Zenyatta plushie
and try to sell it as real. Oh my !!!!
Sally B. (cherish Z- Wi.)
Good joke!!ha I have a feeling when I get mine I won’t have one either, or John & Dotties signature. I never clicked the box when ordering….I assumed they’d come with the signatures Unless you checked the box. (OH what a senior moment!)
Cynthia H./Santa Anita Girl
It is worth a call or e-mail to the shop to explain, Sally. They are super-nice people. I know, because I expereinced a senior “blank” when ordering something, too.
Terry Crow
You’re a senior?

Great joke! But the poor kids!
Terry Crow
What a shame! I know that you were really looking forward to receiving your plushie. Glad it sort of worked out.
Kelly J. /ND
What a great view! XOXOXO to you and Tasty.
Diana Stuart
@All Plushie owners: Does anybody know if the “Invoice” number on the credit card receipt jibes with the certificate number? If so, I think I have #72 (and that would have matched the missing certificate).

Diana, that sucks that someone opened your package!! The nerve of some people!!!

Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
diastu – Nope, my #236 is nowhere on either the invoice (#1673) or attached CC sales slip (#91), anywhere. I’m just glad they will send you another foal certificate! These things are important! Even if your kids don’t have any!

Diastu…I have #72! Got it yesterday.

Hi Loveable, adorable Z; Thank Sarah for taking this picture from your point of view…love those ears! Roam to roam with such beautiful grazing land, as far as you can see, is just perfect for you. I have felt so renewed and full of life each time I have left Lane’s End. Wish I could have meanered across those acres to find you my precious one!!!
I did watch the game but I really did not care who won as the Packers did not play. The team who made the least amount of mistakes won. I guess that is true in any sport.
Make no mistake about it, Alpha and Mr. Commons did great!!! A pat on the neck to A.P. Indy and BERNIE.They are doing themselves proud!!
I can not wait to hear from you tomorrow and I hope to receive my Plushie of you too!!! You are perfect; hope each day goes perfectly for you. Say Hi to Tasty.
love you…2 kisses on your soft nose, one for baby z

WOW what a view Zenny and Tasty have! Talk about absolutely gorgeous country. I received my “Plushie” today and have to say it is very good quality and really cute with the little foal. Have added it to my Zenny collection/loot. Congratulations to the New York Giants! I am an Eli Manning fan. A nice guy from a nice family.
@Diana Stuart, my invoice number did not match my certificate number for the plushie.

Hello Queen Z, beautiful view! I watched the replay of the Arcadia and I saw Dottie in the winners circle, YAY to Mr. Commons! Keep us posted, you and TT rest up – you’re both going to be chasing little ones very soon!

Wow, Zenny, that is some real estate you have there! Thank you for sharing your home with all of us! You two girls take care! Love you!

I too received my plushie!! Absolutely thrilled with it! Also with my certificate, signed by Dottie and John! Great way to start my week : )

Good evening Zenyatta & Tasty,
the two ladies I wrote about earlier in the day & all the other racers really are ‘thoroughbreds’ in their own right. True racers just like you, I don’t know if Tasty ran races, but the world knows you did. Those guys come down the montain at about 75 mph. That is pretty sharp if you asked me. I think ‘bad boy’ Bode Miller came in 8th in his last race. Lindsey, certainly is the fave. The camera just loves her. It takes a lot of guts, I wish good luck to all of them, you don’t wish them ‘break a leg’, do you? ;)
Have a restful night and dream sweet
P. S. I read Adele is going to be at the Grammys and has recuperated and is ready to sing, too. I haven’t watched the show for 30 yrs., but it is getting interesting again.

“Our, Kari, words cannot express how happy my heart was to see you posting again. What a blessing!! I was so worried and you were never out of my thoughts and prayers. On our journey through life, we sometimes meet especially beautiful spirits along the way. Spirits that teach us with grace and touch our heart. Zenyatta is one such remarkable spirit; she is the horse with Z-magic that carries us to the mountaintop!! You, Kari, are another beautiful spirit to me, sharing your view from that mountaintop and greeting each moment of life with positive optimism, no matter the trials. In the shining light on the highest peak where we are closer to God; is a place where dreams abide and miracles occur. It is here that the words of encouragement from beloved family members; including a grandson for his Nana helps strengthen the will to go on. It is here where a daughter lovingly creates a poster with photos capturing forever memories of family, puppies, your Ginger and of course Zenyatta to help bring joy to the soul. It is also where the support of friends is ever present through their prayers for health, happiness and peace in times of need. On the mountaintop, faith, hope and love flourish. So I thank you dear Kari for being a beautiful spirit in my life!!! Your friendship is a true gift that I am very grateful for!! May we continue to share our amazing love for Zenyatta and for each other as fellow Dumplings always my dear friend! Love, hugs and continued blessings, Dawn
Love is patient; love is kind and envies no one. Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude; never selfish, not quick to take offense.
Love keeps no score of wrongs; does not gloat over another’s sins, but delights in truth. There is nothing love cannot face; there is no limit to its faith, its hope, and its endurance.
In a word, there are three things that last forever; faith, hope and love; but the greatest of them all is love.

Dawn, How Beautiful!! 1 Corinthians 13 has always been one of my favorites. And I concur with you, there is something about Zenyatta and the spirit of all of us who love her that is so great, prayers are answered, healing occurs, and the soul and heart are soothed. It all comes from God and God brought us all together through Zenyatta.
Abigail from Montreal
Such a poetic & immensely touching message, Dawn.
Deborah Richman
Dawn, your message to Kari is so beautiful.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Yes, love is the strongest force in the world.
Brenda S..Ontario, Canada
Dear Dawn, You have said, in a most beautiful way, what I and many others feel. I just don’t have the ability to express myself as eloquently as you. I’m sure that there are many other Dumplings who feel as I do. Thank you Dawn.
Cynthia H./Santa Anita Girl
Thank you for your wonderful words, Dawn, which reflect the glow of our Kari’s beautiful spirit. Your very special light illuminates every thing which you write. It only serves to substantiate what I already knew: there are some amazingly graceful souls on this site.
Dawn Conrad / Colorado
Zenny, I received my wonderful plushie when I got home today. TOO CUTE!!!!! Thank you and Team Z for giving us such a sweet gift. I know we all dream of hugging you, Zenny and now we can. It may not be quite the same, but is awfully fun for our inner child!!
Darlene Daniels
Dawn, I got my signed Rapid Redux photo and the John Henry poster last week. Both are absolutely gorgeous, but I did not get a SA calender. I was a little disappointed with that but the other two were so nice I cant complain. So glad you got your plushie. I did not order one of those because I am waiting for a photo of Zenyatta and foal. Have to budget my passion. Always love your posts.
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Yes! Now I can finally say that I’ve petted a horse (and not just ANY horse, but our Zenyatta!). Maybe not quite the same . . . but . . . a start.

wishing you and Tasty all the best! Praying for easy deliveries and healthy foals.
Love to you both,

HELLO QUEEN Z!! I can only repeat what others have said…love, LOVE this photo…what a wonderful pasture and estate you live in…even Downton Abbey can’t compete! Yes, it was a great sports weekend….as JAG said, lots of fun Saturday with the Dumplings. I always learn something new, just exchanging information/hanging out with you all . And it was also really fun for me that our former trainer Paddy Gallagher won with Tippety Tap Tap. And Z, how great was that with your pal Mr. Commons, a high hoof indeed!! He looked great!
I have no hope of ever catching up so will do what I can to wish everyone well. Kari, nice to “see” you again. Terry Crow, u r a FUNNY man and I have seen you in person, so there!
Happy posting everyone! QUEEN Z…be as comfy as you can and .enjoy that BEAUTIFUL view. Sweet dreams, you deserve every one of them!!!

Z, I got my plushie!!! I placed it on my bed and my kitty immediately had to sniff it all over before giving it her lick of approval. It is so adorable and velvety soft. And so huggable!! LOVE it!
And thank you so much to Dottie and John for autographing the Jockey Club certificates. I will treasure it.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
@SALLY B.–what a great story! Horses give us so much. I have no doubt that Z. knew exactly what she needed. Thanks for sharing.

I’m so grateful for all the updates from Zenyatta. I’m getting excited about the foal’s arrival. Zenny – we still miss you out here in southern Cal. Just not the same without you…

Tasty Temptation & Candy Ride, what wonderful name possibilities from those 2. I still vote for Zendini for your foal Z.

Hi Zenny!!! It’s so great to know that everything’e going so smoothly and comfortably for you! My best friend and I are trying to guess the foals’s gender all the time! I have my guess made but I’ll wait until after you give birth.
I was watching War Horse and Secretariat the other day and I thought of how great it would be if a movie was made about you! I’d be the first to watch it!!!
I miss seeing you on the racetrack so much but it\s so great that you’re nice and comfy and surrounded by loving and caring people all around you.
Take care and I love you,
Go girl power!!
