HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVE TO EVERYONE!
Today is a FUN DAY! I usually go out to the paddock at about 7 in the morning. Now the ground is a bit snowy…and even a bit muddy in spots. When I first get turned out, I really play and run hard. It is fun to stretch my legs and all after a night’s rest. I have started to do this new thing…for me…and that is roll on my back on the ground. I did it in the snow the other day. Dottie teased me that I was making Zenyatta Snow Angels. Then yesterday…it was a bit muddy and I was able to roll in the mud! I have NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE that I can remember. It was GREAT FUN!
Sarah is going to try and get to Lane’s End early to get some footage of me doing this for you. It will be on FACEBOOK. Janie, you do not have to be a FACEBOOK member to go to ‘my’ FACEBOOK page. On the opening page of my Zenyatta.com site, there is a FACEBOOK SYMBOL in the upper right hand portion. Just hit this…and it will take you to my page…and my page only. Then hit WALL…and there you are! We put this here especially for people who are not on Facebook. This way, everyone can still follow my escapades and keep in touch!
Last night, I got to TANGO with John and Dottie right before I went to sleep. This morning, BARN 55 is going to TANGO with me right after training. I can’t wait to visit with all of them again! Ann and Jerry will call later in the morning as well. I LOVE THIS! I CAN PERSONALLY WISH ALL OF MY CA FAMILY…HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVE and HAPPY 2011! WHAT FUN!
I have so much to be grateful for at this time…and reflecting on 2010…I do realize what a fortunate horse I am.
I totally appreciate ALL who have cared for me and loved me…EVERY STEP OF MY JOURNEY. It was not always easy…even though my TEAM made it look that way. I love each and every one of YOU…and deeply appreciate the time, love, care and respect you have shown me every single moment of my life.
As for my wonderful, wonderful FANS, what can I say? I have been blessed. I have tried very hard to do my best and add honor, dignity and LOTS of FUN to my sport! You have cheered me on, supported me, and wished me well. I have had fun meeting you and watching you have a great time. It was wonderful to see people from all over the country fly in to meet me. I also loved the fact that so many of YOU have made friends with each other…and are now bonding, going to different racing venues together, and sharing the beauty of THIS SPORT.
IT HAS BEEN AN ABSOLUTE HONOR TO SHARE MY LIFE, MY CAREER AND MY ADVENTURES WITH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!
Some of you have asked how I’m spending New Year’s Eve. Well, my girlfriends and I will be outside playing for a bit…then come in and have a great dinner…toast with a bit of Guinness…and visit. Usually about 7 in the evening, we are all ready to relax and have ‘lights out’.
After all, we really need our BEAUTY SLEEP tonight. January 1st is our ‘joint’ birthday! Each of us will turn a year older tomorrow morning. I’ll be ‘technically’ 7! Good thing I exercise and keep in shape!
May we all be blessed to have a wonderful NEW YEAR ahead of us…filled with lots of GOOD HEALTH, HAPPINESS, AND NEW ADVENTURES!
I know in 2011, I will definitely have many ‘new things’ going on! I’m so excited! I hope to be able to share all of them with YOU!
One more thing…PLEASE BE SAFE tonight and always!
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Queen Z, thank you for the fun and thrilling rides you gave us this year. We love you so much! Have a wonderful New Year. Please be safe outside and don’t drink too much Guinness. :)

This just brought such a smile to my face to hear about you rolling around in the snow and mud! And that you’re running around in your paddock having such a great time! YOU are the light of my life, Zenyatta and I can’t wait to see what 2011 brings you everyday! I have a name for your new baby if A.P. Indy is the lucky dad… but I’ll have to find a way to get it to your owners cause it’s a secret, but I think you’ll really like it! Have a very fun, safe, blessed, and happy New Year beautiful girl! Drink a Guiness for me! Love you and Happy New Year to all of your CA & LE family! They are doing an incredible job taking care of you! Can’t wait to see your video! <3

Happy New Year to the greatest filly I ever saw race in person. Many blessings to you, Zenyatta, Team Z in Hollywood and Lane’s End. Have a great and safe New Year’s and a wonderfully successful 2011 with all your mares, stallions, and foals!

As much as I am deeply devoted to Zenyatta, it makes me feel so much more admiration and respect, yes, love, for all of Team Z to read this diary and see how much attention is being given to Zenyatta even across the miles. I’m not sure I know what TANGO is other than an explanation on this diary the other day, but isn’t it wonderful that Dottie and John and the Barn 55 crew are keeping connected with all this technology so Zenyatta doesn’t feel like she’s been deserted. And we are allowed to be part of the circle through this diary. Amazing and wonderful and beautiful and my heart is so grateful. Thank you for sharing, Zenyatta, Team Z, fellow fans and admirers, as we share this lovely bond of the dynamite mare. Wow.
Happy New Year!! Happy Birthday, Zenyatta!! All the best to Team Z and all the fans here also. To Sue Ann, I am so sorry for your loss of Pebbles.

P.S. Happy “official” birthday to you and all of your friends tomorrow! But we can celebrate again on April 1st! :)

Happy New Year to Team Zenyatta (John, Dottie, Mario, Steve, Carmen, et al) who have been kind enough to share Z and her life with us. To the Mosse,s good health, happiness, and prosperity. You all deserve the best that life can give to you. The best to Lane’s End for being so good and kind to Z and allowing everyone to continue to be part of her life.
And, most of all, Happy New Year to Zenyatta. Good health, happiness and lots and lots of peppermints and Guinness. I hope January 17th brings the best of news because you are the best.
I hope I get to meet you in 2011.
Love and kisses.
Happy New Year to everyone. Be safe.

Happy New Year, big girl! Wishing you the biggest nastiest mud roll ever! My horse, Kilkogan, told me to tell you that you have to get down and really get your whole neck and face into it, then roll over to the other side and do the same. Your face and eyelids should be covered along with the ears. Let the mud dry a little for maximum enjoyment! This is always the most satisfying AFTER a bath!
But no worries, you have plenty of people to clean you up every day so you can do it again! WOO HOO! Happy New Year to all of team Z! You are the best!

Happy New Years Eve to you gorgeous Zenyatta. I love you a whole lot. Please tell your connections to watch the magnificent Rose Parade and especially float no. 82 & 83 Saving Americas Mustangs. It is going to be fantastic. We will have six mustangs walking with the float and other riders and police dogs on the float.. It is going to be spectacular. I am a white suiter and will be in front of the television cameras working the grandstand and I am so looking forward to it. Sleep well tonight and believe me I am thinking of you all the time, you have changed my life and my attitude. Please give a kiss to John, Dottie, and the Mosses, they are so incredible and thank Lane’s End for taking such good care of you. Can’t wait to see you rolling around. That is going to be fantastic.

Love the snow angels! At our place, when the horses roll in the snow, they call it a SNOW PEGASUS. They think that’s really funny.

Hey Z! Hope you enjoyed your spa day in the mud. Mud is supposed to be good for the pores…..I’m so happy to know that you and your family can get together via TANGO. It’s got to be hard on all of you being so far apart. This way they can see that beautiful face of yours and what antics you might be up to and you can see those that you love and miss so much…..Now, I must go back to the last Diary Post because I missed adding a few things yesterday. First, your friend, Ms. Sophie Shirreffs, she is definitely a cutie. She looked like a ‘pouter’-puff in that photograph. Perhaps a bit of Guiness in her doggie bowl would have turned that frown upside down; though on second thought, she might like champagne a bit more…..Congratulations to Wright Thompson on his Media Eclipse Award for an outstanding feature article about you. I did not catch it when it was first published so it was like a late Christmas present for me. The article was a real treat and so wonderfully done – behind the scenes articles and news are such gifts to fans. (That is why this diary is so incredibly special to us.) The photos were also great – Zenyatta – the camera does love you. And I’m sure Mr. Thompson enjoyed his day hanging out with you. Me, if I had spent a day hanging around with you, I would have needed paramedics to resuscitate me because the thrill of it would have been more than I could handle…..Oh and I don’t want to go by without congratulating your good pal Charles on his Hottest Horseman Award. Is Charles blushing?…..I want to thank those who said such kind things about my post yesterday – regarding my thoughts about you and Team Z. It was very kind of them and I do appreciate it. You know, a blogger on one of Steve Haskin’s Bloodhorse Zenyatta blogs proclaimed that he was a Zenyattaholic. Aren’t we all now?….So to you, the lovely Zenyatta, Team Zs California and Kentucky and to Zenyattaholics all over the world, have a happy, happy, happy New Year and here’s to an exciting Zenyatta 2011 year to come. Much love to you Z.
Susan
Happy Birthday Zen
I own show horses and every New Year’s we go to the barn and sing Happy Birthday. We will sing something special for you too.
Thank you Team Zenyatta- you have been role models for the industry.
Thanks for a great ride…I had the wonderful opportunity to be at all your races, meet great people from everywhere and help with some of the organizations you supported.
Tell your friends at Lanes End that you want to check out the Stallion Barn on your next hand walk. There”s some very cool dudes there.
Happy New Year

Zen, How wonderful for you to be a real horse an be able to roll in the mud. A number of folks have mentioned breeding with a number of sires. I’m sure Team Zenyatta will want the very best that will also be a proven sire. From a pedigree perspective, Giants Causeway and AP Indy fit that bill perfectly. Dottie’s son, David, is a boodstock agent, having studied under the late, great Bobby Frankel, and I’m sure he will have a lot of input into the breeding decision, sincehe selected Zenyatta. My guess still remains AP Indy, one of the very best proven sires and an excellent cross. Actually, that’s who I had selected a long time ago, giving the breeding.
I hope all of Team Zenyatta have a safe and Happy New Year. Have a Guiness on me!
Maureen Feely
Happy New Year, Zenyatta. I suppose they’ll give you an extra Guiness to celebrate. Just be careful and don’t overdue it. Talk to you soon.
Bridget
You certainly are in great shape, Z! I didn’t know you girls ate toast. Wish I could hug you and maybe visit you in the New Year. Maybe, who knows…Thanks Dottie for all your posts. Happy New Year, to you and Z! Hope it’s a great one!

Happy New Year Zenyatta. Wishing you much happiness and for you to stay healthy in the 2011 year. Love you much and looking forward to following your future for 2011. Keep danceing, that will keep you young and in shape plus that is so you. Love to hear how you are in touch with all at barn 55. That is happy time for all of you. Congradulations to Charles, you are a lucky girl to have him looking after you. You and he both are now famous. Have a Great HOLIDAY WEEK-END.

Love this picture – Queen Z you are such a poser! Love the reference to Zenyattaholics – doesn’t that fit? Happy New Year to everyone that loves this special horse. Hope Dottie doesn’t tire of writing for Lady Z – don’t know what we would do each day.
