Z's Diary

Diary Post #452

NO BABY YET! Photo by John Shirreffs

Happy Wednesday Dear Friends,

I have heard that everyone all over the country is PACING, PACING, PACING waiting to hear the news. As of this morning….I have not foaled. I’m not quite sure when it will happen. This is such a new experience for ME!

My dear pals at BARN 55…Mario, Steve, Michelle…and ALL of the others are anxiously waiting for the updates.

I must graciously say…so are YOU. I am extremely proud to announce that we have now passed the 100,000 mark in Face Book Fans. This is truly quite an accomplishment…and I want to THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! This number has more than doubled since I retired from racing and arrived at Lane’s End Farm. We have all come a long way together and have been blessed to share quite a fabulous and amazing journey. Again…THANK YOU!

As for my physical well-being….this morning’s reports are that I am doing great! I guess you could say I am taking my own sweet time to foal. You know ME…I have a tendency to keep people in suspense…on the edge of their seats…waiting to see what happens. That was definitely my racing style…and I gather it is carrying over to my new career in becoming a MOM!

I am happy, healthy, looking quite good (Blush, Blush…if I say so myself)…surrounded by people who adore ME. I genuinely feel all of the LOVE you all have for ME.

Jerry with Z. Photo by Ann.

I am SO FORTUNATE!

I’ll keep you posted. Relax and have a FUN DAY! I know I will!

With Love,
Hugs to All~(All 100,000 plus of YOU! This is TOO CUTE!)
Z

Well, I did it. Signed up for twitter last night so I would have another way to check on Zenyatta’s status. Guess that makes it official that I am nuts – lol!!

    Back to pacing!

Celeste, I signed up night before last and not sure I really know how to use it…but I keep checking every 15 minutes anyhow. Grew up always hearing…”A watched pot never boils” I am beginning to think that holds true for our Z girl. :))

While we’re all waiting, I’ll take a moment to again thank the greatest all time Thoroughbred horse owners, Jerry and Ann Moss, for enriching our lives so much.
The generosity of allowing us to share the vicarious experience with the most fabulous Thoroughbred mare, Zenyatta, is invaluable to us all.
    Thank you so much.

    Good Morning Z’isters,
I guess we’re all still waiting? Hopefully not for long. As you all know, we are in rescue mode for the 7 horses in the Nevada feed lot and hope to save them from slaughter and find them loving homes like Zenyatta has. Lisag from Texas posed a question yesterday that I want to answer. She asked why the horses were being sent to slaughter. That is a good question. The horses in the feed lot are unwanted horses for various reasons. Usually its financial but it could be simply culling the herd or maybe something else. But what they all have in common is that they are unwanted. When taken to a feed lot, they are sold for their meat by the pound and shipped to either Canada or Mexico for slaughtering. People in countries outside the United States eat horse meat. I don’t want to go into the disturbing details, but suffice it to say we are not talking about a humaine situation for the horse. And we all share in the over-riding principle that horses are the backbone of how this nation was pioneered and deserve respect and our comfort and care. So Lisag, I hope you will consider helping Marlene in this rescue effort. The website where you can donate is http://www.valleyviewranchequinerescue.webs.com. Thank you, j

Good morning all……………..I see there is no news yet today. I just HAD to go to bed last night after pulling an almost-allnighter the night before (thanks Mike!).

Maybe today will be the day.

Computer’s here on the east coast (at least mine) seem to be affected by the solar flare (slow response time, etc.) so I hope there isn’t any real interruption in service! YIKES!

Have a EVENTFUL day Zenny! We love you!

OMG would you puleeze have this baby already!!!!! I am thinking about it all the time!! I’m acting like an exectant father (and I’m a woman, LOL). I keep checking to see if it’s happened yet and……nothing! Why am I so nervous??? This is ridiculous! It is your style tho – you just bide your time, and then “wham”! I know it will happen when we’re all asleep, and when we check the website, the headline is gonna say ” IT’S A (FILL IN THE BLANK).”

We all love you, Zenny! Congrats on all the Facebook friends you have!

Hi there! How are you girl? Hope all is well with YOU.

YOU HAVE JUST HIT ON A WONDERFUL IDEA!
LET’S MAKE OUR DONATIONS TO HELP MARLENE IN THIS RESCUE — LET’S MAKE THEM IN HONOR OF ZENYATTA’S FOAL. YOU CAN THINK OF IT AS SAVING A PRECIOUS LIFE IN HONOR AND RECOGNITION OF A NEW PRECIOUS LIFE. KIND OF LIKE IN LIEU OF A BABY SHOWER GIFT — WHICH WE REALLY DON’T DO FOR A HORSE. THINK ABOUT IT! YOU WILL BE GIVING THE GIFT OF LIFE TO HONOR A LIFE.

    THANKS ALLIE! GREAT IDEA.
