Good Morning,

Well….what can I say! It has been another fabulous evening…and I’m still very relaxed, in foal, and happy. At this time, there is NOTHING NEW TO REPORT. I would imagine you human MOMS have been through this same experience…exactly at the stage I am right now….waiting for the BIG DAY!

Nature….it is truly amazing!

I’d like to introduce you to members of my wonderful Lane’s End Team who are ready to JUMP INTO ACTION the minute something changes and it appears I’m getting ready to foal.

They take such fabulous care of ME every single day. As you can see, they look nice and relaxed now….just waiting for ME to let them know what’s next. That cue will not only come from ME, but as I’ve now learned, my adorable foal will definitely have something to say about it as well.

I see Sarah has on her JOHN SHIRREFFS RACING STABLE hat. I’d know that hat anywhere! I saw it for years at BARN 55! Looking TOO CUTE, Sarah!

Thank you for your loving thoughts, warm wishes and kind responses. I so appreciate them.

Last week, Dottie did an interview discussing my ‘status at that time’ on TVG. This is one of the primary racing channels in our country. Many of you asked if it would be replayed or shown again. Donyelle Taylor, the program’s producer, sent Dottie the link this morning to share with all of you. ENJOY!

It’s raining in Lexington today…but still rather pretty outside and quite pleasant! I’m sure I’ll spend some time outdoors during the day…and then be back in my cozy stall…right by TASTY in the late afternoon. TASTY sends her regards….and wants you to know she is also doing very well. I guess you could say we are both taking “BABY STEPS” at this time towards becoming MOMS… and yes, the pun is intended!

      Over on #455, someone suggested “Zenyatta’s Prince” for the colt’s name, just like his new FB page, or “The Prince”. That sent me off thinking:

      The latter is clever, but less regal.

    I have been watching videos of Ruffian and I never noticed that she also has the two back socks like Z and only one face marking.

    Love Ya Zenny, just hang in there. I’m still praying for a Colt. I know, it doesn’t matter, either is wonderful, I don’t know just something in my heart’s just wanting to see a pretty little Colt. Listen if you wait untill after tomorrow I will be on vacation for a week, Yippee and I can just check in on you round the clock. I am heading down to Florida as you know on Monday and if you don’t foal by Tuesday you my girl are going to be the talk of the Sales Pavillion in Ocala. We just love you so much my girl.

      That’s funny because I have a feeling it is going to be a colt I want it to be a filly and from what I have seen from Bernie so far it looks like he mainly has fillies.

    About the pic…I think I’m seeing the teats but it’s dark and a bit blurry on my end. Could be I think I’m seeing what I want and not necessarily the truth. The bag itself is between her hind legs and for the most part will always be out of sight.

    Now the tummy…just not sure that she has totally dropped the baby. But she’s a first time mom and they may not always drop. Perhaps someone with more experience can help.

    Ensign where are you! Help!

    The other thing to look for is how relaxed the tail and rump muscles are. The more relaxed the easier the foaling.

    But it’s great to see Z in her stall with mom. I think this is a first! They both look pretty happy. Z seems comfy which means a lot. She’s happy in her home and she’s not upset by company.

    Sorry guys I think we’re probably a week from foaling. Tail and rump muscles have to be relaxed. Z’s privates have to elongate for ease of baby getting out. We have no word on this. I think milk wise were pretty good. But the baby needs to drop. Back where the teats are that area should drop–it should look like an enormous balling ball.

    But mare’s can fool you. Just when you think it’ll be another week she’ll just lie down and take care business.

    Thanks Jerry and Ann for the wonderful pic! Please keep sending them! And don’t feel like you only have to tweet once or twice a day! We love to hear from you. We all love your girl so much.

      Thanks for the insight Margret. I really want her to foal soon but something tells me you are right and we still have about a week to go. But you never know Z could totally trick us and get us all relaxed and then poof all of a sudden she is laying down! Well not really poof but I am just going to say that for now.

    Baby Shower for Zenny,

    Wouldn’t it be nice if some fans considered giving to one of her favorite charities on Z’s behalf instead of sending gifts?

    The mother-to-be is registered at ….

    One of the charities she regularly supports is Old Friends Equine retirement farm in Kentucky. Their founder, Michael Blowen, is a regular on our Kentucky Derby broadcast each spring.

    Others include The V Foundation for Cancer Research, Thoroughbred Charities of America, CANTER, TROTT, The Race for Education and many more. If you like the idea, share it with other Zenyatta fans and we’ll make a big difference when the big day comes.

    I bet that would make her dance!

    Zenny I too agree with some of the others. I hope they don’t breed you back every year. The picture above that dear Judy posted., I don’t know you kind of minded me of the way Rachel looked after her colt came. Don’t know maybe your a little tired. I hope you just get to be a horse for a while and just enjoy life. Pray for you to be aroundfor a long long time. I believe your here for a reason like I think some pets are. I know my cat Holly was an angel for me in so many ways. Zenny you know Secretarat I believe was just a gift from God. I don’t think we’ll ever see what he did again in our lifetime, and I personally don’t think we will see another you. Your just a gift from God Zenny a One and Only. Love you (Don’t get me wrong Z I believe we will have another Triple Crown Winner I just don’t think they will ever beat his record or even come very close. A One and Only.

    @ I wish to rewrite the Farmers’ Almanac, oh fellow sleepless Zombies!

    After driving home on an east-facing freeway in my beloved Sonoran Desert and observing the biggest, roundest, orangest moon I have seen in a very long time, as its lowest limb kissed the horizon good-bye while rising;
    and after being so moved by this glorious sight I called sister Auntie Judy in SoCal to alert her to a grand photo op an hour hence;
    (and nearly driving off the road while doing so);

    I proclaim thee, Oh Magnificent Orb – the first full moon before the Vernal Equinox – THE FULL ZENYATTA MOON!
    I will reconsider my proclamation if and only if OUR MAGESTIC QUEEN, Zenyatta delivers her beloved baby before sunrise, local Lexington time, at which point the Orb shall be hence known as THE FULL FOALING MOON!

    Thank you very much everyone who responded to my posting to yesterday’s diary. Its nice to know people are so caring, it’s very refreshing to know people can be so civil and sincere online. Thanks again! Still waiting anxiously for our little prince or princess. Again, thank you so much for the responses and of course Zenny who can always lift my spirits. Still praying for you and thanking God for the very kind people who responded. A kind word can go such a long way.

    After reading about the beautiful moon, I went outside to give a howl, but alas we are completely clouded over tonight. I also loved the howling entries. Looked for Cigar today, but did not catch him out in the paddock. Cigar was named after a navigational point (his owner was in the aviation business) not the tobacco product. Zenyatta wishing you an easy delivery and your foal an easy time of standing and finding the milk. Dottie mentioned something about plans to include the fans in this process. Can’t wait to hear what they have in store for us. Good Night to All.
