Good Morning,
Well….what can I say! It has been another fabulous evening…and I’m still very relaxed, in foal, and happy. At this time, there is NOTHING NEW TO REPORT. I would imagine you human MOMS have been through this same experience…exactly at the stage I am right now….waiting for the BIG DAY!
Nature….it is truly amazing!
I’d like to introduce you to members of my wonderful Lane’s End Team who are ready to JUMP INTO ACTION the minute something changes and it appears I’m getting ready to foal.
Front row: Sarah, Charles, Guillermo Back row: Brian, Antonio, Louis
They take such fabulous care of ME every single day. As you can see, they look nice and relaxed now….just waiting for ME to let them know what’s next. That cue will not only come from ME, but as I’ve now learned, my adorable foal will definitely have something to say about it as well.
I see Sarah has on her JOHN SHIRREFFS RACING STABLE hat. I’d know that hat anywhere! I saw it for years at BARN 55! Looking TOO CUTE, Sarah!
Thank you for your loving thoughts, warm wishes and kind responses. I so appreciate them.
Last week, Dottie did an interview discussing my ‘status at that time’ on TVG. This is one of the primary racing channels in our country. Many of you asked if it would be replayed or shown again. Donyelle Taylor, the program’s producer, sent Dottie the link this morning to share with all of you. ENJOY!
It’s raining in Lexington today…but still rather pretty outside and quite pleasant! I’m sure I’ll spend some time outdoors during the day…and then be back in my cozy stall…right by TASTY in the late afternoon. TASTY sends her regards….and wants you to know she is also doing very well. I guess you could say we are both taking “BABY STEPS” at this time towards becoming MOMS… and yes, the pun is intended!
Cheers and have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Thank you, Dottie, and thank Ms. Taylor for the link to the TVG interview. I missed it so I’m glad to be able to see it and I will be watching it in a moment. Still on tenterhooks waiting for the Big Event. I’m glad to hear how you are doing, Zenyatta, and also happy to hear how Tasty is doing. I wish you both easy deliveries and fine, healthy foals. This waiting is hard, isn’t it! :)

@Zenny and Tasty: I’m loving hearing from you and seeing your wonderful LE team all in smiles. But I bet some of them are as slap-silly as the rest of us Z Dumplings from staying up all night watching carefully over you. We thank them LOTS!
Enjoy your day while many of us fall asleep on our computer keyboards and with our cell phones as pillows :-) TOO FUNNY.
Hugs to all – see ya tonight, same Z time, same Z channel.

Thank you Dottie, for sharing the interview with all of us. It made me excited all over again. I have no fingernails left….I am (as we all are) anxiously awaiting the baby that will help the legacy continue on! Zenyatta is not a horse…she is a movement!

Dearest Zenyatta,
Cannot tell you how much I look forward to reading your diary posts each day. It is so much fun to check every day for news on the birth of your foal.
I hope you foal while it is a full moon. Three years ago this coming June, our first colt was born around 1:10 in the morning under a full moon in the paddock. I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful it was to watch the birth of this gorgeous colt in the stillness of an early summer night under what they call the “strawberry moon”.
His mom, Chloe, like you, was so very relaxed that last week or so before she gave birth. I kept watching for signs and saw only one little sign on Sunday, But that sign was important enough for me start hourly checks that night. Now for someone that works, setting an alarm clock to go check on “mama” every hour all night was a pain, but in the end, the reward was being there when the big event took place. On that Monday night, for some reason, I leaped out of bed and went outside before the alarm went off at 1:00 AM and saw Chole just starting to deliver her beautiful son. I flew back into the house, got my husband up and we both ran back outside to witness the beautiful, breath taking birth of her colt…that brought tears to both her eyes. As long as I live, I will never forget that night. It was made more special by the date being the same as my father’s birthday whom I had lost many years ago.
God sometimes sends us a “special gift” which is my colt’s name and I will keep you and your baby and your family in my prayers for a happy and healthy foal and that you are a happy and healthy mama…”Blessed are the broodmares”

I’m so glad I got to hear Dottie’s interview. What a classy woman as well as being intelligent and well-spoken. A true ambassador for the racing industry.
At least now I can settle down and get some work done today and start the pacing, drumming exercise all over again tomorrow. Just can’t wait to see that first picture, video, description of your baby but I’ll have to wait just as everyone else does, including Ann and Jerry and all the folks at Lane’s End. Love you, Zen. What an amazing world you have created without even trying to. Thank you Ann and Jerry, John and Dottie for taking care of the fans so well. Wish all owners would do the same. What a positive thing that would be for racing.
Allen
Thanks for the update Zenny/Dottie. You and Tasty stay in where it’s warm and dry. The rest of us will continue to wear out our shoes and floors. LOL to Zenny and Tasty.
