Good Morning,
Well….what can I say! It has been another fabulous evening…and I’m still very relaxed, in foal, and happy. At this time, there is NOTHING NEW TO REPORT. I would imagine you human MOMS have been through this same experience…exactly at the stage I am right now….waiting for the BIG DAY!
Nature….it is truly amazing!
I’d like to introduce you to members of my wonderful Lane’s End Team who are ready to JUMP INTO ACTION the minute something changes and it appears I’m getting ready to foal.
Front row: Sarah, Charles, Guillermo Back row: Brian, Antonio, Louis
They take such fabulous care of ME every single day. As you can see, they look nice and relaxed now….just waiting for ME to let them know what’s next. That cue will not only come from ME, but as I’ve now learned, my adorable foal will definitely have something to say about it as well.
I see Sarah has on her JOHN SHIRREFFS RACING STABLE hat. I’d know that hat anywhere! I saw it for years at BARN 55! Looking TOO CUTE, Sarah!
Thank you for your loving thoughts, warm wishes and kind responses. I so appreciate them.
Last week, Dottie did an interview discussing my ‘status at that time’ on TVG. This is one of the primary racing channels in our country. Many of you asked if it would be replayed or shown again. Donyelle Taylor, the program’s producer, sent Dottie the link this morning to share with all of you. ENJOY!
It’s raining in Lexington today…but still rather pretty outside and quite pleasant! I’m sure I’ll spend some time outdoors during the day…and then be back in my cozy stall…right by TASTY in the late afternoon. TASTY sends her regards….and wants you to know she is also doing very well. I guess you could say we are both taking “BABY STEPS” at this time towards becoming MOMS… and yes, the pun is intended!
Cheers and have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Oh Z, you are doing much better than your extended very nervous, pacing-the-floor human family!!
Glad that you’re content though, and that you have such a great support team waiting to assist.
Take care big girl!!
Susan A
Hi Z!
Thanks for the clip to TVG..I’ve already watched it 5 times….it gives me cold chills to see the clips of your races and I still pump my fist and scream…every time! I feel so blessed to have seen you at the Breeder’s Cup….I will never forget it. Have a safe delivery…I am praying for you every day!
Jeanne from Texas
Boy, we are all about to bust waiting for this baby! What fun! I know myself I can hardly wait for the posts from you Dottie; and I too, check FB and anything else I can get my hands on that even hints about Zenny’s baby! God bless you all, these posts always lift my spirits. Sure wish we could talk you into getting a web cam so we could check on her when we could. It would probably crash though there are so many of us wanting to know her condition at any given moment. I am so grateful for all your kindnesses Ann and Jerry, Dottie & John, for sharing your Champion Mare with us all. We are so blessed. Stay in touch and ride in the sunshine!
luvscritters
Great interview! And all those beautiful clips of YOU in action.
I really think if the Mosses ever retire you as a broodmare they should allow you a career as a dressage horse so you can dance at the Olympics!
I’ll keep checking in for news, although most foals like to make their debuts in the dark of night so it will probably be 3 a.m. when the news of your foaling will flash around the world.
Georgia Harper< Seattle, WA
Good Morning Beauty – they did a little special this morning on TVG, showed your Breeders Cup win and some of your other races. Great pictures of you with BIG baby bump and talked to a vet all about foaling, (very interesting)
Kisses to you and TT and waiting with nervous anxiousness!!!!
sue and Tony
Isn’t it great how Z makes big news even when she’s no longer tearing down the track.
Alex Bowdoin, MA
Thank you TVG and Dottie for the great interview. I loved it!! I do miss seeing Z heading out to the track, those ears up and forward looking at everything and of
course her Dancing…..Has anyone found out any info on the Street Cry colt that is
a “Mini Me” of Zenyatta? Thanks for posting that yesterday ladies!! He is too cute!!
I am wearing my “Trott” Equine Empowerment silver pendant today in hopes of a
special delivery tonight/tomorrow morning. No need of Turtlenecks here today!!

I guess that means he will race in Japan and not here? I wonder? He just looks
so much like our Queen!! It’s CRAZY…. could not believe my eyes!! Thank you for responding and letting me now.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Audrey – British Columbia and Alex B.:
Thank you so much for the info on Storm Cry. Now at least we have a name and may be able to keep track of him. Although, it might be difficult if he isn’t stateside. Do you know who his Dam is? Hugs, JB
Audrey - British Columbia
Hi Judy Dam of Storm Cry is City Beautiful /05 by Storm Cat.

Waiting anxiously to hear the news! Is your Ann sleeping in the barn with you? I’m sure she wants to be there with you when you foal!
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Dear Zenny,
Hi again. Many of us “east of the Mississippi” peeps start the day on the previous diary page so I’m just checking in again. As always, I got up to move around for what seemed like just a few minutes and came back to a new entry and nearly 100 responses! Do we think people are keeping a close eye on this site or what? LOL It’s great to get today’s update. Glad to know that everything is going so well. What a great interview of YOUR Dottie! (not to mention great clips of YOU as well). Dottie is always SO gracious – it was nice to hear her voice. Have a great day with your family. Seems like lots of mud potential down there. We will work on being very patient.
Love from your Ohio friend,
Sandy
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Sarah, Stephanie, and Theresa! Just think – you could be sharing the day with a very special foal!
@Trina – another wonderful “trio” of poems! (If anybody missed them, they are shortly after the midnight PST mark on the previous post – I don’t think those people out there in California EVER go to sleep).
sharon in seattle
Dottie, you are such a classy woman!! smart, articulate etc etc My hat’s off to you — and while I’m at, hats off to the LE team in the photo, ready at a moment’s notice. Have a great, relaxing day, Zenny and Tasty — all of us fans are anxious for the birth of your foals, but more than willing to accept nature’s timing!!

Request to all Zsters:
I won’t be able to access any Tweets for the next six hours or so. So if a new one comes in between now and then would someone please copy/paste into today’s post?
Many Z thanks…

Hi Z! Glad you are taking it easy…foaling takes alot out of you (much like racing, it’s work). Are you waxed up yet?
Sounds like you have THE BEST team possible ready & waiting. :-)
Wishing you all the best!
Brenda S..Ontario, Canada
Zenny/Dottie, Thank you so much for the post today, a photo of your team at Lane’s End and then the TV interview starring Dottie. That is a real bonus for me, I don’t get TVG and so it was great to get the link.
I had another treat today. When I took Vic to the barn I met a foal who is 8 days old, a TB with great genes on the top and the bottom. What a feisty little guy he is, I was told that he will stand on his hind legs and put his forelegs on your shoulders if he gets the chance. He and Mom were out in the round pen when we got to the barn and he was running and bouncing around, keeping Mom pretty busy. It was a real thrill to see him and I so envy those folks who will see your foal.
Thanks for the report on Tasty, it’s good to know she is moving right along with you. Hugs and kisses to you both Zenny and please say thank you to all those great Lane’s End people who take such good care of you.
Susan Carothers (in TN)
Brenda- how fun!

Waiting right along with you Z and Tasty too. Hugs and everything to you both and are best to your taem at LE as they wait with you as well. Thanks for replaying the interview on TVG, someone needs to bottle up every vid of you and put it on a DVD, I know we all would be getting one :) Have a relaxed day sweet girl.
Paula Higgins
Dottie, thank you for the video link!! I had gone to TVG to find it the other day, and couldn’t, so this was a nice surprise. Very nice interview. Love the picture of the Lane’s End team. I know she will be in very good hands. Yes, we are all still pacing. But you are right, and as other people have mentioned, Mother Nature has her own clock. I wonder if they induce horses like they do women who have gone well past their due date? Maybe one of our horse knowledgable posters can answer that for me. She is still in my prayers for a safe delivery and healthy little foal. GOD Bless them both.
BARB G (SKIP) and JULIETTE the Cat in NJ
That’s the first time I ever heard Dottie’s voice–on the TVG interview! Totally charming, articulate, distinguished. I am very impressed with her ability to tell a story–and the story she was telling fills my heart. Dottie, you are a perfect voice for our Zenyatta…if you ever have extra time on your hands (ha), you should do voice-overs for documentaries or movies. Wonderful voice. And what you said about Zenny at this point in time has me more relaxed and less worried. Bless you both…I adore you both.
Susan Carothers (in TN)
Barb/Skip- agree!!

Dear Zenny, your team at Lane’s End look like they are ready, whenever you are :)
I’m so glad Ann & Jerry are with you, at this very exciting time.
On a serious note: “The Meadow”, where Secretariat was born is in dire straits….. The State of Virginia had purchased the property several years ago and they are filing bankruptcy. Somehow, someway this property, must be saved from the developers. Doswell does not need another shopping center….
I pray you have a wonderful day & enjoy the sunshine :)
With Love, Pattie

oops! Hill Prince is also listed 75th on Bloodhorse top 100 horses of the 20th century.

I feel so bad for Mrs. Chenery, she fought so hard and was so successful in keeping The Meadow going that it seems almost criminal to let it go now. I thought that the State of Virginia owned the property, surely it can be kept intact.

Gorgeous, tell Tasty hello for me and we are also anxiously awaiting her new baby also. (Don’t want her to feel left out). I heard you had a grand time rolling in the muddy snow. Any pics of that kodak moment? Being so near and waiting is the hardest part of being pregnant. I remember it well.
You just relax and look at the moon. Seems most babies are born under a full moon. Love you and wish you a safe delivery.
Still pacing though.
Love, hugs and kisses and smooches to all who care for you
Maryp (New York)
