Happy Sunday Everyone!
Yesterday I commented that John and I spent some wonderful quality time together 1 to 1 when my CA FAMILY was visiting me last week. He took some distance photos for you so you could see my paddock. In this one, I am on the far right. As you can see, we have a wonderful, large paddock to run and play in together. It is very spacious and located in a place on the farm where we can see everything going on around us. The view is absolutely spectacular. As you know, I love to stand and look at my surroundings for hours at a time…just like I would do when I was out grazing at Barn 55. So this is very pleasing for me! I can see everything…everywhere! I feel like I am at a beautiful resort!
Then my dear John took some photos of ME. He simply can’t resist checking me out and feeling my legs…as he has done for years every single morning. I was a great sport…and let him do it. He really thought I looked fabulous and very healthy. Even though I’ve gained some weight while here…John thought I was ‘wearing it beautifully’. As always, he was full of many wonderful compliments for me! JOHN sure knows how to make ME feel special. I loved seeing him again!
My dear John did note, though, that I had a bit of a scratch on my one hip. I’m fine…just playing around in the field with my friends. It is all just part of having FUN! I do enjoy all of my free time and running free. It is a very special time for me in my life now! I feel so fortunate in so many ways!
Well, only a few more hours until GAME TIME for MY JETS! I want to be right up-front and watching when they KICK OFF! Oh, I do love my SPORTS! Dottie was telling John and I this morning that I was on ESPN. They were doing a segment on different achievements in different sports…and I was mentioned for my 19 for 20 record! Too cute!
Enjoy your day.
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Great pictures Z. It is almost as if we were there with you. John is also a great photographer and he loves his main subject. Dottie needs to put Z’s diary posts and pictures is a BOOK. – A good part of the work is already done. Of course, I think that we probably need to wait until after the foul is born! That is another big step for the Horse of the Year!!! Kisses and hugs Zenny. I am rooting for your Jets also. Joan

Z you are such a blessed girl. We were so thrilled last Monday night to see you win the Horse of the Year award. We were really pulling for you. We screamed and shouted and jumped up and down when we heard them announce you as winner. You are such a remarkable creature. You have won so many hearts and have made your owners, trainer, and all those involved with you very proud. God Bless you and hope you have many more wonderful years to relax. Also, we hope you have many many offspring and hope they are as much a joy as you have been to so many.

@Nancy L — Thank you for the Trevor Denman post on Zenyatta — what a special day the 2009 BCC was. We will never forget it. We knew we just saw the most thrilling race we had ever seen — exhilarated, but sad too because we knew we would never see another to compare.
@Paula Higgins — beautiful post with very apropos, majestic musical accompaniment.

Just beautiful Z! Thank you John for taking such amazing pictures of our girl and for sharing them with all of us! Thank you Dottie for being Zenyatta’s voice and letting us know how she is and what she is up to everyday. These diary posts are the highlight of my day! Thank you Ann and Jerry for continuing to share Zenyatta with us! And thank you to the wonderful people at Lane’s End that are taking such excellent and loving care of our queen! She is so much more than HOY… she is the horse of a lifetime! Hugs, kisses, and carrots to you Z with some Guiness thrown in! :)

Wow! Nancy, thank you for sharing that link to the ESPN video with Trevor Denman. Unbelievable. I am now in tears, but it’s not sadness, it’s love and joy for having been watching and knowing and loving Zenyatta for all this time. Wow. Thanks!

Just a joy to see all the pictures and comments. They keep me going from day to day without Zenyatta in the actual racing news. How we love and miss her but thanks to your compassion we are still in “touch”. Thank you so much….
Celeste
Oops! I forgot to say what wonderful pictures and thank you, Zenyatta and Dottie for the lovely diary post. This web-site diary is so very special. Thank you.

You look marvelous…..wish I looked that good after gaining a few pounds…..
I am cheering for the Jets, because of you, Zenyatta. I am a Colts fan, and know you would be too if they were playing.
Love seeing the photos of you in the pasture. You are wonderful. Thanks so much for the post. Love it.

@Suzanne G post 61, you were asking about Azeri. I found were she was sold to a Japan ownership in 2009. She was at Hill N’ Dale farm, but not there now. For 2010 she was in foal to Distorted Hummor. Hope this helps. Love the pictures of you Zenyatta. Hugs and Kisses.

Hi my beautiful Horse of the Year….horse of a lifetime! Hope you are having a great Sunday. Your pics are gorgeous as you always are in them!!! The poor jets are getting roughed up…can they pull a “Zenyatta” and come from way back to win this? I’m afraid there’s only one Zenyatta…so the Jets may have to wait until next year…Stay warm my sweet beautiful Zen, wonderful dreams. I’m always loving you!!:)

This morning, before church, I read the following in my devotional and thought of Zenyatta. “When something good happens, the Lord deserves the credit, for He is the source of all that is good. Give Him the glory. Seeing God at work puts a song in our heart.” Zenyatta, as Ann Moss has so often put it, is truly a gift from God. She has been the source of so many blessings for which we are all so thankful. And I’m also so grateful that the Lord placed her with so many wonderful people who love her so much and recognize her for the gift she is. She is far beyond any little girl’s dream.

Z….loved the pictures especially the one of you by yourself by the tree. I’m still hoping for AP Indy, if his conception rate was good last year and his semen count is high now.
Sorry to hear about the great mare Miesque, she was a champion on the track and a winner as a broodmare. I pray that Z is as successful in the broodmare shed as she has been on the track and is blessed with a healthy long life so she can retire in Ann Moss’s backyard! Then John can take pictures till his hearts content.

Beautiful Zenyatta, How could you become more beautiful, but you did. The photos that John took of you are so lovely and if you have gained some weight, it treats you well. Spending one on one time with John and Dottie must have been special as I’m sure you miss them as much as they miss you. I have a feeling that “dad John” will be there for your first date making sure that proper conduct is in order. Please thank both of them for sharing these precious times. Much Love From Me To You

Hi Zenny!! As I mentioned in the last post, your paddock is unbelievably huge!! I first noticed how huge it was in the last video of you after winning HOTY. Lots of room to gallop around for days. On another note, it really looks like you enjoyed the visit with your family. So glad that you and John had some time together. John is so proud of you. Along with everyone else of course. Zenny, do you know what I think would be really, really cool? A picture of all the trophies you have won over your career. I think it would be so cool to see all of them displayed in a photo. I am sure a wide angle lens will be needed. Lol. It would be a lot, a lot of trophies that’s for sure. Any chance your family might be able to do that for us. Just a thought!!
