Happy Tuesday,
This is too cute! Last night, Dottie, John, Ann and Jerry all met for dinner. They were discussing my ‘future exciting dating plans’ and the ZENYATTA SCULPTURE that was done by Nina Kaiser. The prototype of the piece is photographed above with Stella and Violet. It looks like Stella is commenting to Violet how much she loves it. I DO TOO!
Nina Kaiser is a very talented sculptor. She does beautiful work! Recently, she did the JOHN HENRY life-size statue that is at Santa Anita Park. While I was at BARN 55, Nina would set up appointments with John and Dottie to come out and STUDY ME! She spent hours upon hours at the barn just observing me while I was training and out grazing. Nina actually measured every single part of my body and then took detailed photos of ALL of me! She wanted to be sure she could reproduce MY IMAGE in PERFECT SCALE! We spent a great deal of time together. This way, Nina felt she really KNEW ME and had a feel for how my body parts all flowed together when I moved. I also found it very interesting to note the keen observations of ‘an artist at work’ while she was with me!
It looks like she GOT IT RIGHT! My TEAM absolutely loved her image of me…and I’M DANCING!! How fabulous is this! YEAH, NINA!
As for my dating plans, I think this news will be released very soon. My TEAM reviewed all of the details with me this morning…and I’M SO EXCITED! I will keep you posted!
With love,
HUGS to ALL~

‘MooooM!!!!, Zenny’s shrank, now We can be the BIG sisters!’ Couldn’t help myself, they are too cute!!
Can’t breed to Dynaformer, the familial crosses are too close. Bloodhorse.com has an excellent section on hypo-mating for those who are interested in choosing the right stallion for our Queen. I like Storm Cat, Tale of Ekati, or AfterMarket myself, just to have a little speed up front. Smart Strike’s not bad either, not bad at all. We all have to remember that Roberto’s (Z’s great-grandfather) line is potent and prominent in his progeny just as Slew’s is(and believe you me, Zenyatta is the spitting image of him!). Anyway, Lady Z, I congratulate you on whomever the team chooses. Lots of Love…..

The John Henry statue is magnificent. I am so excited that Nina Kaiser is working on a Zenyatta. Great news!

@Ensign
Just curious about cryptorchid issue and AP Indy.
He did have surgery in 1992 to remove the undecended
Testicle. Vet who performed the procedure on him
And another male with same issue said Jockey
Club has not addressed this issue. Even though thoroughbreds
must live breed the males don’t have to be perfectly
intact. I guess the AKC and American College of
Urologists are ahead of the jockey club. I guess big
money always wins. AP Indy sold for 1.9 million as
a yearling. Very interesting issue for The Mosses and
Sherriffs to contemplate.
Thanks for bringing it up with all of the insightful information.
He had been fertile for 17 years with one testicle. Each
anal species Is very different !!!!!!
NancyJS
Sorry not anal but animal species is different !!!!!

It would be so hard to capture the “essence” of Zenyatta, but that statue is great! So excited about her breeding partner. You go girl.

Ohhh… I am so excited.. can’t wait to find out who the lucky stallion will be.. You are beautiful ” Z”, your mini statue and the doggies are also beautiful ! Goodnight !
Barb G
Z, all I care about is your health and wellbeing and happiness. I don’t need your foals to love you more. Loving you more is impossible…seeing you healthy with healthy foals will be happy miracles. All of us out here who love you just want you to be OK and live a long and healthy and happy life…and please keep the diary going!!!
Peace, love and joy to you, Z!

Hadn’t really thought about After Market…interesting!
Michelle
Your sculpture is going to be absolutely beautiful! Is it going to be at Santa Anita? Now I will have to wait to plan my trip there for when your sculpture is unveiled or afterwards.
I am hoping that AP Indy or one of his handsome sons like Mineshaft or Bernardini are your first date.
Kim Noble
No stallion is good enough for you! But if I had to pick for you it would be either Afleet Alex, Tapit or Candy Ride.

@Ensign — we’re always up for the reading — thank you once again for the information and additional sources.
Diana_NV
I love Nina’s work. I hope it’s available as Breyer #2 or equivalent. As for the hot date, I hope it’s to the old guy with 13% stakes winners so we can see A. J. Zindy! Then go for Giant’s Causeway next. Please consider a few embryo transplants into the sporthorse world so we can cheer for the little Z’s dancing their way to gold medals in dressage/eventing in the Olympics! Let’s get those fabulous genes out there!

Hi Zenny, that is a great sculpture of you and I always like to see you danceing. You are the danceing Queen of horseraceing. I love the dogs also. They are beautiful but you are the most beautiful, of course. Now we all await the big news as to who your beau will be on your maiden date. He has to be the best if there is such thing. You are so supreme that it has to be hard to really find Mr. Right for you. I will be waiting to hear. Hope you are staying happy and haveing fun with your friends. I love you very much my dearest Zenyatta.
Bonnie MacRaith
Okay Zenny! Drumroll Please! And the lucky fella to win a date with you IS…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. Stay tuned tomorrow!
I just hope is someone who knows how to dance too, then we can have a whole dancin’ family!
roko
Can’t wait to hear who your first baby’s daddy will be! Don’t forget, Queen Z, no Guiness while you are in foal!
Gerrie P.
Violet. And Stella are quite stunning.
I am still not sure about Zenyatta’s mating. She is so much beyond mortal. It’s a lot to expect of a foal of Zenyatta and whatever sire is chosen.

The Z sculpture is really neat. Wish I could afford one. I can’t wait for the exciting announcement. Love you, Zenny, today and every day.
Elaine Valenzuela
We definitely need a drum roll as to who you’re date will be! I’ll have my fingers crossed. By the way, if he’s not a dancer, I’m sure you can show him your stuff! Love you, Zenyatta!
Snoprinz
Good luck on your first date. I hope that you will enjoy being a broodmare though I’m sure that you will make a good Mom because you’re so kind and gentle. I will always pray for your safety and well-being. Luv you Zen.
Shirley Nolan Al-mlaiti
Hi ZENYATTA,
The statue of you dancing is beauitful from what I can see.. the Z TEAM should post a larger picture of it so we can really see it….I am looking forward to seeing who the Stallion is you will be bred to..I would guess either AP INDY or CURLIN… if you were my horse I would bred you next year and give you a year off to be allowed to be yourself and enjoy your life , you have worked hard enough in your short 7 years (4/1/11) now your owners put you to work doing something different and they get to keep the outcome and you become a broodmare for the rest of your life, I would change that but who am I to say anything..I just love you the the wonderful horse you are..Sweet Dreams ZENYATTA…Hope you get to watch the movie SECRETARIAT …He was a once in a lifetime horse too like you ….LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU

@ ENSIGN, thank you tge pony answer- I hope no more than 10 – 15

@ Nancy JS,
.
I know Indy has only one functioning testicle, I just hadn’t been sure if the retained one had been removed. Another young stallion, Roman Ruler is a cryptorchid and had his undescended one removed while still in training. I made a little jest towards Indy re: the AKC early on above, lol.
.
@ The Kennedys,
.
You’re most welcome, any time.

Ms Zenyatta, good morning. I was so hoping for the news today. Cannot wait much longer, I am just tizzy with anticipation. Have a wonderful day, Love you sooooooo….Lisa g
Nancy
What a great replica of you!
Lois Brooks
Zenny can’t wait to see who your fella will be. Everyone talks about AP Indy but my choice would be Malibu Moon, he is proven and a son of AP Indy. But whomever is chosen is going to be one lucky guy.
suemar
Morning Z!! After Market is cute but I still hope you get a date with Lemon Drop Kid. Hey! If Rachael comes to visit Curlin
maybe you can say hi to her. What a photo opprotunity that would be. The great meeting. Shes way not you but I bet you would have something in common to neigh about.
Dani
@Ensign and to everyone who posted regarding the breeding shed. Thank you. Though I have seen photos and read up on the actual process, the video was helpful – except for the extremely annoying reporter (and I use that term lightly). I of course will turn into a mother hen when it comes to Zenyatta’s turn and hope all goes well and she doesn’t have a bad experience. But I am sure you are right, LE will have many professionals in attendance to see to it that all precautions are taken and it goes smoothly. In any case, we will probably know in the next few days who the lucky stallion will be. I’m one of those hoping for Indy but I’m sure whoever they choose it will be spot on.
Barbara Wood
Good morning, Z–
Have to admit After Market is an intriguing thought, but he’s young and unproven. Since Ann said early on that they were looking for a smaller stallion, I immediately thought of Birdstone, since he has proven winners at classic distances. However, his pedigree doesn’t seem to complement yours as well. Maybe you will turn out to be a blue hen and it won’t matter. At any rate, it’s always something of a gamble, isn’t it? I do know one thing: your baby will be the most eagerly anticipated in the history of horse breeding. I’m betting that we’ll hear something either today or by the end of the week. Love you always.
Linda M
Which stallions/bloodlines have the best record for producing the soundest winning offspring, those that are able to keep racing for multiple years, like our queen?
Maybe another Irish bred, like her mom?
Celeste
Thanks for the adorable photo of Stella and Violet. Not only are they adorable, I think they have wonderful names, too – they make me smile. I’ll bet they are a lot of fun to be around. The sculpture by Nina Kaiser is beautiful and I would love to have one, but the cost is too high for my pocketbook. I would love to see it produced in resin and then maybe someday in plastic as a Breyer model. Yeah, I am a model horse collector – lol!
