Q:
Does Ziconic have a barn name?
Ann Maree
Collierville, Tennessee
A: No, we call him Ziconic. Often a barn name comes when a horse doesn’t yet have a name or when we don’t like the one he has.
Q:
Since you trained Cozmic One and you are now training Ziconic, you must feel some pressure to make sure that they come out as great as possible. How do you handle this weight on your shoulders, knowing that you are making a future for these two as race horses?
Cassie Pashko
Sundre, AB Canada
A: We’re basic caregivers, and we do worry about them like they’re our kids. It would be a lot more pressure if we hadn’t trained Zenyatta. Seeing her traits in these two colts has eased the pressure and made it fun. They were able to fall into their routines naturally. We want them to do well and be the best they can be, so we do our best to give them the tools to succeed.

Love the pictures, thanks for posting. Brightens everyone’s day with your caring. Knowing we can not visit your farm, the pictures are really appreciated very much.

Thanks for the update. I know two year olds don’t run early in the year, and that it’s usually after May when we start to see races for Juveniles. Is he likely to be one that will be ready early and run as a two year old?
Also anxiously awaiting for when Zenyatta will be bred again, and will it be War Front?
As always, appreciate so much sharing these wonderful horses with us.

Their job deals with training the sons and daughters of many highly regarded sires and mares. It is such a treat for them to take the time (at the request of Team Z) to give us the info on Zenyatta’s Coz and Ziconic.
Ziconic is a handsome boy who looks so professional in the photo
Thank you Mayberry Farm and as always, Team Z.

I love this colt’s look. Such a kind eye, intelligent look and so heartbreakingly beautiful.
He also appears to be thinking up something. What a guy!

We give them a barn name if we don’t like the one he has. Lol!! That’s funny! Good thing Ziconic has such an awesome name!

Hi
Geri Minott
When I was a hotwalker, we had one called “Our Genius” but his more appropriate barn name was “Goofy.” I wouldn’t post this today, but his owner has gone on to her eternal rest now. One named Sean became “Shonster” to the guys. He didn’t get along with men too well.
