Oregon, another of the Mosses’ stable trained by John S. won Race 4 at Del Mar today. He had Gary Stevens aboard. Best Wishes and Congrats to all.
Best of Racing Luck to Ziconic!! Am looking forward to the replay. Also looking forward to word and or pictures of the new little one. I bet she’s not so little anymore.
Thanks for this news, Martha!
Big Congratulations to Oregon, Gary S., John S., the Mosses and all involved with this nice boy! Best wishes for continued success and good health.
Oh boy, the Jim Dandy was a Dandy. Here’s the replay. Congrats to Good Samaritan and to Giuseppe The Great; great second. Hope they all came back well. Love and Hugs, JB
You know what they say about the Spa and Favorites. I took note of the No. 3 Giuseppe The Great because his name means Joe in Italian, which is my nephews name and he’s trained by another of my favorites, Nick Zito. There was no catching Good Samaritan today though. He was smokin! Love and Hugs, JB

Let’s hope that the Saratoga curse stays far away from two chestnuts. Speaking of which, there is talk that Arro will go to Saratoga to avoid Accelerate in the Pacific. Just talk so far.
judy berube
Dear Max:
Indeed!
I hope that isn’t the case. Arro just had a bad day I think. Would love to see him have a chance at Accelerate again. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. Arro has already gone down twice to Accelerate. Could have just been a bad day or maybe it was the trip back from Dubai. For some horses, it’s too much. The two chestnuts however seem to have bounced back.
judy berube
Dear Max:
Oh, I didn’t realize they’ve met twice already. Well, we’ll have to see what develops. These Chestnuts are a tough crew. Love them. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. It was Arro’s first time racing in 2016 and it was at Los Al. He got a third. Accelerate was second. A horse by the name of Westbrook won that day. Arro broke his maiden the next time. Ziconic was in that race.
Hi, I saw Enable, the whole race on bloodhorse.com.. WOW!!!!!!!!! Terrific!! Magnificent. Like our Zenyatta. she beat all the boys. What a girl!! I was there when Zenny did it in the breeders cup at Santa Anita. She was still living at barn 55 at Hollywood park at that time.
Looking forward to the documentary DVD on Zenyatta. This one thing I can beg my husband for and he will let me get it.
Have not been following much, but I like to focus on positives and tune out negatives.
Seems like social media can bring out the ugly side of folks in everything, just not horseracing.
Looks like the 3 yr. old picture this year is a real rollercoaster. May the Haskell runners tomorrow run well and all come home safe.

A few firsts in the King George and Queen Elizabeth today.Enable beomes the first to win the Epsom and Irish Oaks plus today’s race.Nathaniel and Enable are the first father-daughter to win and the first three generations to have won the King George Galileo is her paternal grandfather,And her great grandfather Sadlers Wells must have looked down with pride. He won in 2001.She will most probably go to York next then have a break before the Arc.
Wow! That was IMPRESSIVE! Enable really hit the accelerator to put the competition away. Well done lovely girl! Mighty fine blood coursing through those veins. :-)
Dear Judy:A better day at the Dyfi some sunshine for the birds.Bobby bach and Menai had a tussle with a fish Menai stole it from Bobby then Bobby got it back!Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley Willow and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Go “Time Line” You and Javier can do it. You got my favorite horse’s sire in your bloodline. The wonderful Fappiano dad of my Quiet. Looking so forward to this Haskell.
Go Miss Temple City in the Matchmaker. Hope you got plenty of rest back from Europe. Some are saying you might be too tired. I hope you prove them wrong.
Safety to all horses and jockeys. Godspeed.
OMG, just realized Quiet Kitten is in this race, whose mom is Quiet Alice, yep daughter of my Quiet. So, I am going to have a hard time with this race. But, Miss Temple City have to stay with Ya.
Interesting turn of events at Del Mar in the Bing Crosby. Drefong tossed Mike Smith early but he still went on to influence the race and win some money. Notice how he gets pushed up against the rail but won’t give up. He’s a tough customer and a rival of Biscuits. Mike and Drefong are both okay. Horse who came third is Moe Candy, a son of Spooky Minister, former pasture mate of Zenyatta.
I remember Spooky Minister; beautiful Gray. Moe was born two days before COZ. So glad that Mikey and Defrong are OK. Wow, he is a tough one. Love and Hugs, JB
Moe is a gray like his mother. Damsire is Deputy Minister. You know that horse.
Drefong was amazing in that race. And lucky that he didn’t get hurt. So was Mike.
Baffert says that Drefong might go to the Forego at Saratoga. Biscuits is in that race. Gun is racing next week in the Whitney. Victory to all chestnuts.

Oh, yes, I know Deputy Minister. Thank God both Drefong and Mikey are OK.

A moving ceremony took place at the Menin gate tonight in Ypres, Belgium to mark the 100th anniversary of the battle of Passchendaele.King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians,The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge,Prime Minister Theresa May and many other dignitaries attended.Over 54,000 names are inscribed on the gate and the last post is sounded there every night at 8pmThe battle was to last 3 months .Those who did not die immediately drowned in the mud along with their horses,They gave their lives without question and we owe them a huge debt of gratitude for the freedoms we cherish today. The last tommy of the great war Harry Patch was injured in September 1917 and his 3 best friends killed on that day every year until his death aged111yrs in 2009 he spent in quiet reflection.By the end of the battle between 250,000 and 310,000 Allied troops had died.My poppy has joined thousands of others at Tyne Cot cemetery.Lest we forget.RIP
I died in hell-they called it Passchendaele;
My wound was slight,
And I was hobbling back;and then a shell
Burst slick upon the duckboards:so I fell
Into the bottomless mud,and lost the light.
