We can forgive ignorance to some degree, but willfulness is another issue. The sad part is that the two so often go hand in hand to create danger. The main objective of this personality is to take advantage, to prey on anyone or anything for no particular reason-other than because they can.
The wise thing is to be aware-to see and sense anything out of order. Don’t, through compassionate thinking, give opportunity or reason to anyone, however kind and friendly they seem, to take advantage. Many have lost a great deal by being too trusting. But trust should not be passed out like calling cards-even to someone we have known before. Times have changed-and maybe the personality as well.
Had our fathers the desire, they could have crushed the intruders out of existence with the same ease we kill the blood-sucking mosquitoes.

Dear Judy,
This was the race he needed he was pressed by Frosted and shook him off and then pressed by Keen Ice and could not quite shake him fully off. This was man against man in this one. These guys are all grown up now. He got away easy in the Belmont, no one pressed him like in this race, they were still babies and too many backed out and did not want to face him. He did not run hard in the Belmont or the Haskell. Granted he has ran more races than the others but cudos to Baffert for putting him up against the 3 year olds that are all grown up. AP is a very nice talented horse everyone loses sometime and he did not lose by much and he finally had to fight for this one and just not skip home. Now we know he can fight. Rest now for the BCC. If he had won this it would have been a very big deal and they were right to have him run for this one. Great job AP. Think he lost by a nostril !!!!!
Love and hugs
PS Glad to see Frosted getting tough !!!

Dear Tizgood:
I’m just hoping AP comes out of the race OK. He’s proved himself 3 times over. He’s a Triple Crown winner. I do believe he needs to rest. Love and Hugs, JB
Tizgood
Dear Judy
Just watched the race, Unfortunately AP does not have a turn of foot so he just gallops away, and he was able to gallop away from Frosted, but Keen Ice was coming too fast for him to gallop away from. That is why it is possible for Beholder to win over him because she has a devastating turn of foot that
she can blast off. He does not blast off or seem to have any more gears.
I do not think he was tired before, but I think Frosted gave him a challenge and Keen Ice blew by him. Wish he was staying on as a four year old to develop his talents the other 3 year olds are catching up.
Love and hugs
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Tizgood:
Just want AP to be safe and sound. Love and Hugs, JB
Tizgood
Dear Judy,
AP is safe and sound, enjoying the crowd this morning nuzzling the camera
men and everyone else. He did not know he lost. He looks great. BB was talking to everyone saying he was tired.
Love and hugs
I think AP is tired and needs a break. He shouldn’t have raced today or at least in the Travers at this time. If Bob Baffert wants that Grand Slam at the Breeder’s Cup Classic, he needs to rest Pharoah. Congratulations to Keen Ice on winning the Travers! The Pharoah can take consolation knowing that he’s in elite company : Man’O’ War suffered his only defeat at Saratoga to a horse called Upset, and Secretariat lost the Whitney at Saratoga to a horse named Onion. The only TC winner to win the Travers is still Whirlaway.
I am glad that BB let AP try the Travers it would have been a great feather in his hat and so he loses one, every horse loses sometime and only two horses have won the Travers
after the TC. Great going AP- it was a good try- onto the BCC and some long needed rest.
Good job on BB part for taking on the 10 horses and not backing out !!! BB has shown he is a good trainer and willing to take them all on !!!!
When you look at the pedigree of Keen Ice it is evident that he should run well. Think however, that if AP had his A game he would have smoked them all. Still good to see Keen Ice run up to that royal family tree. Congrats to Dale and the Donegal team.
Max
Agree. It’s been a good week for Curlin. KI has Kris S on his distaff. Very nice pedigree.

JudyB. I see that you noticed the Deputy Minister bloodlines. Your Charlie and the Beast have them too.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Yes, they do. Love and Hugs, JB
Tizgood
For sure Shirlee, he has been very immature until this race, could not put it together. Congrats to him.
Deb, I so agree with you. I didn’t want him to race today either. He’s done enough and all that traveling. I was literally holding my breath for it not to catch up with him. And, granted he didn’t do much at two and didn’t have it hard that year. But he’s done a lot this year. He had some issues at two and I was worried about all of this.
Yes, I think trainers feel a little pressure by owners to keep it going as long as possible. Now they realize AP is not a machine, but a living breathing horse that needs time to recover. Hope a lesson is learned today. Just my opinion, so be kind all.Lol.
BB and owner are on the same page. Only owner like CC are not. BB does not rin his horses unless they are 100% and AP had a huge amount of energy before race all that bucking and rearing huge amount of energy not a tired horse.
He finally met the men instead of the babies and it was a great race !!!!!
BB was not against running at Saratoga, otherwise he would not have done it.
BB does not play games. If he does not want to do it he is clear with the owners and he does not do it.
I think many times owners do no take the advice of their trainers. CC and Art Sherman are a perfect example. Hope AP, Beastie, TR and all of the horses come out of their races OK. Love and Hugs, JB
Dear Max.I have heard they are thinking of retiring AP now.Maybe it’s in the heat of the moment and the Zayats will think differently in the morning.I get news of Moosie on his FB.A very wise horse!!!Sheena.
Off topic, but I thought you’d like to know: Butterstick the Sequel is doing well. I’ve seen and heard him quite a few times today. His tummy is full, his markings are coming in, and he’s happy when he’s in Mommy Mei’s arms. She finally got him to “allow” her to put him on the floor long enough so she could grab a bite of sugar cane, but he grumbled about it! She’s tried to leave the den to go to the bathroom, but he’s still upset and cries when she does this. I hope Mei doesn’t explode!
You guys who love Pandas should check out what is going on with the Pandas in Toronto. I looked it up today and there’s a report that the female Panda whose name I do not know was artificially inseminated in May. Do not know when they are certain if a Panda is pregnant. Apparently the Pandas however are on to insemination routine now. They have been known to fake a pregnancy in order to get better food and more attention from their caregivers. These Pandas are smart.
Deb E.
Giant Pandas are the Mensa geniuses of the bear species. All bears are smart, but pandas are super smart. They know exactly how to play their nannykeepers to get what they want. In fact, they have very cat-like personalities. The humans are there to serve the pandas and keeping the pandas happy and engaged is the #1 priority of the humans because unhappy pandas are not pleasant to be around.
Just read in the Race Notes on Equibase that Texas Red “hit the gate” at the start and came away last. He still finished 5th. Hope he’s alright. Love and Hugs, JB
Dear Max.Oh,yes Moosie has nearly 800 friends on his FB including me!You may be right in thinking about the stud fees for AP.I loved the idea that Flintshire went to the start without a pony.We only use them if ever a horse gets too fractious.Moose’s friend Gary Witherford gets used a lot these days by the stalls.Treve had better be on the lookout for Flintshire in the Arc Andre Fabre is the master.Sheena
Flintshire had a pony but he pointedly ignored the pony. It appeared that he thought that all of the horses including the ponies were there to race against him so that he stayed very clear of his pony. The pony walked 15 feet or so in front of Flintshire. Flintshire was having nothing to do with that pony. This gave us a chance to get a good look at Flintshire. He is very handsome. Resembles Danehill. NBC commentators said that Andre Fabre’s nickname is God.
Will check out Moosie’s Facebook. There was a pseudo Moose Twitter account. Is this one officially approved by the Moose?
I heard the commentators say Fabre’s nickname is God too; got a real chuckle out of that. Flintshire is a big, beautiful boy. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
Flintshire ran that race without Lasix. Most Euro horses use the medication when they race in the U.S. or Canada. Have to give full credit to Fabre and Abdullah for no Lasix.
So hope American Pharoah and all the horses and Joel will be OK. Surprized Bob Baffert didn’t hear my screams of them not to run AP. If he would have been at the sale this week I would have told him please not to. He’s too wonderful and its not worth the risk to keep racing him in my opinion. Actually I don’t think Bob Baffert wanted to do it from the Get-Go.
I am hoping Coomore will step in and say enough’s enough. I’ve been to Ashford to visit and their strict with the horses. Thinking about it now, its probably a good thing.
I want rest till I know also that American Pharoah is OK after this race. Go Coolmore.
Dear Peggy,
AP was fine this morning safe and sound, nuzzling the cameramen and the crowd, bright
eyed and bushytailed. Did not know he lost the race. BB said he was tired.
Love and hugs
Did anyone see the video of Frosted after his previous race with Pharoah. They are showing it everywhere and they did today. He literally konked out in his stall after that race. So endearing, but it sure showed just how tired he was. Wish everyone could see that video. Just precious. It’s A Wonderful Life and these Thoroughbreds are just a gift. We gotta take care of them.

I do not think he was tired before, but I think Frosted gave him a challenge and Keen Ice blew by him. Wish he was staying on as a four year old to develop his talents the other 3 year olds are catching up.
Love and hugs

Dear Tizgood:
Just want AP to be safe and sound. Love and Hugs, JB
Tizgood
Dear Judy,
AP is safe and sound, enjoying the crowd this morning nuzzling the camera
men and everyone else. He did not know he lost. He looks great. BB was talking to everyone saying he was tired.
Love and hugs
Deb E.
Tizgood
I am glad that BB let AP try the Travers it would have been a great feather in his hat and so he loses one, every horse loses sometime and only two horses have won the Travers
after the TC. Great going AP- it was a good try- onto the BCC and some long needed rest.
Good job on BB part for taking on the 10 horses and not backing out !!! BB has shown he is a good trainer and willing to take them all on !!!!
Max
Whirlaway is the only horse to win the Triple Crown and the Travers.
shirleeinindy
When you look at the pedigree of Keen Ice it is evident that he should run well. Think however, that if AP had his A game he would have smoked them all. Still good to see Keen Ice run up to that royal family tree. Congrats to Dale and the Donegal team.
Max
Agree. It’s been a good week for Curlin. KI has Kris S on his distaff. Very nice pedigree.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee and Max:
Very nice indeed! Love and Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. I see that you noticed the Deputy Minister bloodlines. Your Charlie and the Beast have them too.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Yes, they do. Love and Hugs, JB
Tizgood
For sure Shirlee, he has been very immature until this race, could not put it together. Congrats to him.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Deb, I so agree with you. I didn’t want him to race today either. He’s done enough and all that traveling. I was literally holding my breath for it not to catch up with him. And, granted he didn’t do much at two and didn’t have it hard that year. But he’s done a lot this year. He had some issues at two and I was worried about all of this.
Faithful Zenyatta Supporter
Yes, I think trainers feel a little pressure by owners to keep it going as long as possible. Now they realize AP is not a machine, but a living breathing horse that needs time to recover. Hope a lesson is learned today. Just my opinion, so be kind all.Lol.
Tizgood
BB and owner are on the same page. Only owner like CC are not. BB does not rin his horses unless they are 100% and AP had a huge amount of energy before race all that bucking and rearing huge amount of energy not a tired horse.
He finally met the men instead of the babies and it was a great race !!!!!
Max
FaithfulZen. Agree with you. They should have listened to Baffert as he was against racing in Saratoga. But no disgrace to AP. Hoping that he is okay.
Deb E.
I just hope he’s not hurt. His beautiful stride was way off today.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Deb E:
Me too. Love and Hugs, JB
Tizgood
BB was not against running at Saratoga, otherwise he would not have done it.
BB does not play games. If he does not want to do it he is clear with the owners and he does not do it.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Faithful:
I think many times owners do no take the advice of their trainers. CC and Art Sherman are a perfect example. Hope AP, Beastie, TR and all of the horses come out of their races OK. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Max.I have heard they are thinking of retiring AP now.Maybe it’s in the heat of the moment and the Zayats will think differently in the morning.I get news of Moosie on his FB.A very wise horse!!!Sheena.
Max
Sheena. If true, might be Ashford worried about stud fees? Hope that the horse is okay. Moose has a Facebook?
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena and Max:
Hope AP’s OK too.
Glad to hear updates on Moosie. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Shirlee and Z Fans:
Just read in the Race Notes on Equibase that Texas Red “hit the gate” at the start and came away last. He still finished 5th. Hope he’s alright. Love and Hugs, JB
Ingrid Arnone
Dear Judy,
I bet on Texas Red for second place,
thanks for the info, now I know what happen to him.
Hugs Ingrid.

Dear Ingrid:
You’re so welcome. Hopefully, he’s not hurt. Amazing he finished 5th after that start.

Max
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
I heard the commentators say Fabre’s nickname is God too; got a real chuckle out of that. Flintshire is a big, beautiful boy. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
Flintshire ran that race without Lasix. Most Euro horses use the medication when they race in the U.S. or Canada. Have to give full credit to Fabre and Abdullah for no Lasix.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Ditto that. Love and Hugs, JB
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Deb E.Thanks for the news of Butterstick. He is really doing well.He certainly wants to make himself heard.Mei is a doting mother.Sheena.
Deb E.
It’s amazing how something that tiny can turn life upside down for everybody.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Peggy:
Will look for updates on AP and Joel Rosario. Love and Hugs, JB
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Judy, Thank You so much.
Ingrid Arnone
Dear Judy
J Rosario he is okay, nothing serious happen to him.
To bad AP lost, well what can we do, this is horse racing…
Big hugs Ingrid.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Ingrid:
Thank you for this info on JR; so happy he’s OK. Yes, that’s horse racing. Doesn’t diminish AP at all; magnificent boy. Love and Hugs, JB
Tizgood
Dear Peggy,
AP was fine this morning safe and sound, nuzzling the cameramen and the crowd, bright
eyed and bushytailed. Did not know he lost the race. BB said he was tired.
Love and hugs
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Did anyone see the video of Frosted after his previous race with Pharoah. They are showing it everywhere and they did today. He literally konked out in his stall after that race. So endearing, but it sure showed just how tired he was. Wish everyone could see that video. Just precious. It’s A Wonderful Life and these Thoroughbreds are just a gift. We gotta take care of them.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Peggy:
Haven’t seen that video. Hope Frosted is OK as well. He tried real hard today. Love and Hugs, JB
