KathyR. That rug is appropriately quite feminine for the tiny horse. Getting in on must have been a workout for you. The paddock area looks pretty nice as does the weather.
Early autumn mornings are cocooned in low-flying fog so that even the birds are cautious in their flight. Clusters of rose-colored grasses are draped in dew-laden webs, and all along the path, silken remnants shimmer with the most intricate designs. For a few hours, the morning is softly hung with gossamer. Some of the webs are already in the process of being repaired where a leaf or a twig broke through. Each web has the mark of a special spinner, silver with pearly droplets in the mist, and transparent in sunlight. Surely, this would be sweet, u ga na s dv, to the tartest spirit. It not only paces the heart but lightens the load.

Bad news. The most interesting horse in the world has a sore ankle and is out of Breeders Cup. Fink says that Dan will not run. Danny Boy, get well. There is always next year.
Max,
Just heard the news on HRTV. They announced that WD has a non-displaced condylar fracture of his right cannon bone, but that was according to Breeder’s Cup info. They are hoping to speak with Charlie Lopresti.
Either way, it is disappointing. Get well Dan.
No surgery involved. The horse has to heal the bone on his own. The most interesting horse in the world can do it. Danny always takes the winter off anyway between November and the spring. Rest up, Danny. You are my hero no matter what. Look after your cashmere.
Mile: Ankle Injury Will Force Wise Dan To Miss Breeders’ Cup
by Press Release | 10.13.2014
Morton Fink, owner of Wise Dan, the two-time defending Breeders’ Cup Mile (GI) winner and reigning two-time Horse of the Year, informed Breeders’ Cup officials on Monday morning that Wise Dan has developed a non-displaced fracture at the bottom of the cannon bone of the right front fetlock that will prevent him from seeking a third Breeders’ Cup Mile title on November 1 at Santa Anita Park at the 31st Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
Mr. Fink’s statement to the Breeders’ Cup is below: http://www.paulickreport.com/news/breeders-cup/mile-ankle-injury-forces-wise-dan-to-miss-breeders-cup/

Thanks for posting this link about Wise Dan. Am very sorry that he has this foot injury, and hope he recovers completely and quickly. Love this handsome lad!
Power up, Danny!

Wise Dan you will definitely be missed at the Breeder’s Cup but, you have done more than enough in your career. Take plenty of time to heal. Thank you to Mr. Fink and Mr. Lopresti for finding this fracture before something horrific happened. WD you are a very special horse and deserve the best carry that you are getting from such a great team. Hang in there big boy and stay healthy and happy. If God wills it you will run again. If not, you will always be taken care of, I’m sure. Luv you Danny boy.
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to all of our great bloggers from north of the border (especially Brenda S, Abigail, Debbie S., TizHerself – and others I may not know of). We are lucky to have such great neighbors!
Dear Judy
I just read about Dubai and am heartsick that people can treat an animal that way.
I will pray with everything in me for his body to be able to fight this and heal. I am so deeply sad and sorry he is going through this, sending lots of love to Dubai and his family at the barn .Love and hugs and prayers,Debbie
Dubai has gone lame with abscesses popping up one after the other in different areas on his foot. We think he was injected with steroids directly into different places on his foot just before he raced on 9/17/14. Angela picked him up on the 18th and brought him home from the track. Three days later she let him run free in the ring and he came up lame. The steroids would have worn off by then. She has been treating the abscesses and giving him pain meds. He lays down a good part of the day. Stands and eats a little. The vet is coming tomorrow. I think he will be x-rayed. This poor baby was raced three times in September. We think he was given steroids to mask his lameness issues and now he’s really in a bad way. Please keep him in your prayers. Love and Hugs, JB
