Happy Thursday!
The 2013 Zenyatta.com Celebration details are finally here!
The Celebration will go live on Saturday November 2 at 12:00 am PST. We will publish a link to the special party page on Facebook, Twitter, and our homepage here at Zenyatta.com. At that time, bidding will be open on the items detailed below.
The Celebration page will also have the following features:
1. A live feed of fan photos. We welcome all photos that show us how you’re celebrating Zenyatta this weekend, from the races or from home! Add your photos to the feed by sharing them on Instagram with the hashtag #zenyattaparty2013. Read about setting up and using Instagram here. If you do not wish to use Instagram, email your photos to fans@zenyatta.com. We will post select photos throughout the weekend.
2. An oversized comment section for all-day discussion.
3. A Zenyatta Shop promo code for a discount on purchases made November 2nd and 3rd.
4. Most importantly, we’ve designed this special event to raise money for a wonderful cause. All proceeds from this weekend’s auctions and sales of our Celebration Stickers—available now at the Zenyatta Shop!—will be donated to Thoroughbred Rehab Center, Inc.
Thoroughbred Rehab Center, Inc. is a CA Non-Profit and a Federal 501 (c)(3) Publicly Supported Organization operated solely by volunteers. They retrain horses for second careers and do an amazing job! Read more about their work at www.tbrci.org.
With this in mind, read on about the items we’re offering in the Celebration Auctions. Bidding will be open until 11:59 pm PST Sunday, November 3. Leave us a comment below if you have any questions about this weekend’s events.

Noticed that there were several horses eased in BC races today. I sincerely hope that none of these injuries are life-ending. Centralintelligence was eased and vanned off after the Dirt Mile, but I can find no further info about the fractured fetlock injury. Also, haven’t been able to find out about Square Dancer from SA Race 3 yesterday.
Prayers for all four and two legged participants — safe races everyone!
Hope everyone has fun at the Zenyatta festivities! Hugs

Other than the link to buy the sticker (which I bought) , I don’t see any other links for bidding, etc. I’ve been up all night. Helllllllp.

It’s now 3:41 a.m. EST, no sleep. I see no links after searching the site. Guess I’ll go on to bed. Disappointing.

Hope this helps:))

Actually all of them are on that page. Lot 1 is on the right and the others lined up below it across the page.

It would be really awesome to have available a bracelet made out of Zenyatta’s mane or tail hair alone and one made from her hair and each of her off-spring. And a Z bob on it too!

After one day of the Breeders Cup, I have one winner, Beholder. Mainly because of Gary and that he is on MMM today. So glad he was able to pull up Ever Rider with no injury to the horse. I have not seen anything about the other horses that were pulled up.
Safe trip to all and may my sweet Muchie fly like Pegasus. But on that speed favoring track, watch out for Paynter.

Just saw that Harlan’s Holiday was euthanized in SA yesterday. So sad. We need to keep these guys at home. So sad.

RIP beautiful Harlans Holiday. What a strange thing to have happen, I sometimes wonder if the shuttling of these horses with long plane rides does things that don’t show up till later. Just a horrific thing….hope he didn’t suffer too long.

I was saddened to hear of Harlan’s Holiday demise. I hope he did not suffer.

Judy & Sheena: I debated about posting it here because I thought that it would get “lost” in BC/Zenny’s Party traffic….but I knew you would both love it, together with others who have yet to see it. Daisy was SO GOOD with the dog saddle (which belonged to my Grandfather) and it was TOO MUCH FUN filming it with Daisy’s Auntie Liz!!!
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
Abigail, especially liked the “conformation” pose (if that’s what it was supposed to be). Your grandfather had a dog saddle. Hmmm…
Max
Abigail. Perfect. Daisy has star written all over her.
Abigail_1849
MAX & VICKI B: Thanks for the kudos & glad you appreciated Daisy’s “confirmation shot” (LOL)
RE: Dog saddle — I just got back from my mother’s where I asked her about the dog saddle’s history and she said it ISN’T a dog saddle. It was actually a model saddle given to my grandfather as a prize he won with his champion roadster in the 1920’s.

So fun to watch and well done.

Thanks Janet!

Abigail,
Daisy is so…. cute. She may have acted up just a bit in the saddling enclosure, but gathered herself well for the run down the stretch. Of course with you waiting in the winners circle, she just had to cross the finish line first. You are both very talented!! Thank you for sharing the wonderful gift of your sweet girl with us! I’m sending a hug to you both. Love, Dawn

I hope to see everyone’s comments switched from the Blog over to the special comment site…..really looking forward to remarks after each race. The Blog/Forum serve us well for all our topics BUT today is the day to use the special Comments section created just for the Zenyatta BC Celebration. Team Z has put a lot of thought and effort into today JUST for us and charity. Let’s thank them by using the special comment site!

Roberta
I was so sorry to hear about Harlan’s Holiday; he was such a great stallion. This is just my opinion, but I don’t agree with shuttling stallions. My feelings is this; in the natural way of things, a stallion has a band, and shortly after giving birth, the mare is ready to be bred again. This means that he mates with his mares, pretty much all around the same time, and then has a rest, for the most part, until after these mares have their foals. No matter how strong he is, I’m sure he wouldn’t have over a hundred, mares to breed to, like they do in the industry. But even though that is a lot of mares, they at least get a rest; except for the poor stallions, that go to the Southern Hemisphere; they don’t get any rest to speak of. A stallion like Harlan’s Holiday, has a full book here, then after this breeding season is over, goes South for another full book. I can’t help it, I feel it is just greed! He collapsed and went into shook, on his way back after covering a mare. I really feel it is abusive, and unnatural for a poor stallion, who has done nothing wrong, but be a good stud!!
Sally Blank (cherish Z for my lifetime)
Roberta, According to the Bloodhorse, poor Harlan’s Holiday’s’ part of his intestines had come out while back in his stall and he collapsed. They worked on him attempting to put back in but had no luck so had to euthanize then quickly.
His covering of the mare had been uneventful according to article.
I am inclined to agree with you as far as no breaks from covering mares because of transporting when our U.S. breeding season ends only to continue the breeding there!
hugs, Sally B
Ingrid Arnone
Good luck to all!!!!!
Will see who wins….
Hugs Ingrid.

Centralinteligence UPDATE
Breeders’ Cup News & Notes: Nov. 2
Ron Ellis (Centralintelligence, did not finish, Dirt Mile) – Alfredo Morfin, foreman for trainer Ron Ellis, reported that Centralinteligence, who was pulled up and vanned off after the Dirt Mile Friday, would be transported from his stall Saturday to undergo surgery on his injured right foreleg.
“He’s got a cast on, but he will be OK,” said Morfin of the 5yo gelding, scheduled to be operated on Sunday by veterinarian Wayne McIlwraith at a clinic in Chino.
McIlwraith reported that Centralinteligence suffered a fracture of the lateral condylar of the distal cannon bone in the fetlock joint. He was taken up by jockey Victor Espinoza inside rivals with about 6 1/2f left in the race.

November 2 Cherokee Devotional
Spirit, mind, and body-all need peace and quiet. We need a quiet place like a creek bank in summer when fishing is good and bait plentiful. The mind and spirit need to go fishing in the inner world of thought and ideas. When the body is quiet, the mind can pull in some big ones, but do be careful. Good fish and not-so-good fish can come out of the same pool. Rely on the spirit to guide you to the good-and to help you distinguish between the good and the bad. Throw the bad ones-bad ideas, bad words, bad beliefs-away. But the good ones are keepers. Savor them.
[We] must always follow the directions of the Great Spirit, and we must listen to him, as it was he that made us: determine to listen to nothing that is bad.

November 3 Cherokee Devotional
Can I convince you of your great importance? You are the captain of your personal ship, the guide to your greatest dream. See yourself the way you want to be. See yourself as a giver and a receiver. Look for ways to be wiser and not sorry. Find the path to happiness that is your spirit. Too few have heard their own praises lauded. No one thinks to tell you how much you mean to them. Remember, you have to be kind to yourself so that you can be kind to others. If you have to go back to childhood to recall being loved, do so. Think how wonderful it was to share in something called love and kindness. If it was not there, then put it there in your heart. Never tell yourself you are not worthy, because you are more worthy than you will ever know. No one was put on this earth by accident, but for a purpose. Find that purpose and be who you want to be.
We looked up to the Great Spirit.
