Hi all! I met my son’s in-laws who came to visit from Peru. The wedding was this past May and they were held back with their visa’s so they could not attend. They are seeing a very small glimpse of what America is like. They can not speak English, but I think my gestures and asking Gianina to speak for me helped. We all had a good time. They have been very impressed so far. They were not accustomed to even seat belts, so they are experiencing a lot!! It must be overwhelming in some ways.

It was difficult to vary questions, but in the area of Peru in which they live I think cows would be what they are familiar with. Nothing was brought up by my new daughter in law about my involvement with horses or horse racing. Perhaps we will get to be together another time before they leave for home.

Carlton House finished a brave third in the $4million Group I Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) behind It’s A Dundeel.

At some point, all of us stand at a crucial fork in the road and decide which way we will go. When we stand firm in what we know is right, we can make the decision with confidence. We love that person who can stand at ease when everything threatens to go downhill. He not only looks like he can fight-which the Cherokee calls a la s di, but he is wearing an invisible armor of faith that makes him invincible. When we have chosen the right road and we are ready to do battle, a way is made where there has been no way. Our feet are set to go, and when we reach that crucial spot, we mark the road for those who follow.
Teach us the road to travel, and we will not depart from it forever.

Dear Kathy.Still very blustery over here the chicks are staying close to the nest,Glesni is still there, was having lunch when I looked in.They caught 32 fish last week 7 on Saturday alone ,well prepared before the storm.I think she will wait for the winds to die down before leaving.I didn’t know Ollie j the maltese had left FB because of trolls, for God’s sake how can you bully a little dog??How sick!!Zoe is sad.Found a pretty cat on Fubu’s page Lily Young from Seattle, she only joined august 7th and has 1’670 furiends already!Fubu is still managing kitty gravy on his own!Marty’s got a sweet little house and,of course,he’s ready for Monday!!I saw the wedding pic of Boo think it would have been wiser to put Buddy in the bridal gown,he has got the longer hair!Thinking of Princess Diana the 17th anniversary is getting close.I will never forget that week in the UK and how we changed as a nation. Her legacy lives on.Have a great week.Hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
I’m glad Glesni is still there with the chicks. Wow! What great fishermen ospreys are! That’s wise to wait for the weather to improve before leaving. The whole situation with Ollie is very troubling. Just another example of how low people can sink. As you say, “sick.” Hopefully Ollie will come back. I checked out Lily Young. She’s so beautiful! So many followers in such a short time. Boo is getting very close to 15M. I have to agree that maybe Buddy would have been better suited to wear the dress. IMO they should have left Boo and Buddy alone and gone looking for a “girly girl” to wear the dress! lol I remember like it was yesterday the death of Diana. Hard to believe she would be a grandmother now. Her legacy does live on. She was a wonderful woman. Have a good day and week. Hugs from me, kisses from Holly,Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
Dear KathyR
Thanks for your concern and prayers for the people and animals affected by fires In our country .Many thanks to Australia for sending 80 firefighters to B.C. and others are coming from Ontario,Quebec and Maitoba to help.here in B.C. We have 10 major wildfires covering hundreds of kilometers and 30 smaller ones. You know about these all too well-,hope the coming summer keeps your safe Down Under.
Do hope Thurzel’s litel brown mate stays and am thinking of her..
We’re only too pleased to help our Canadian mates – you sent people to assist here when we had the killer Black Saturday fires and we were very, very grateful. Am thinking that the departure of the brown mate may work to my advantage: the brown fellow (Oscar) is very keen for attention, and pushes between us for pats, so it will be great for him to be the only horse to a girl who will love and care for him. And with him not there, it will be easier to get closer to her. Still praying for rain! Hugs, KathyR
Dear Debbie.I hadn’t heard about the wildfires in Canada.Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. It’s still very stormy on the Dyfi today, plenty of fish around though.Hope you enjoyed your meal with the children last night.Love and hugs Sheena.
Dear Sheena,
Thanks for your prayers re fires.
Yes,had a lovely visit with my “children” last night,a good meal and an evening walk.
I have been watching the ospreys with interest and fondness.Very late last night, early am your time,Deri was in the nest calling and calling,She seemed to be looking for food from Mom or Dad.After about a half hour Deri flew off–perhaps to do her own fishing. Not long after an osprey- I think Glesni-arrived with a fish and no babes in the nest,so had a good meal.Early this morning I saw both Deri and Gwynant curled up in the nest looking satisfied with Glesni watching over. I am glad they are staying safe and hope they rest for a time after the big winds before their trip.As Pooh said,”It’s a blustery day!”
Thanks for the bear site.We have lots here and they are wonderful creatures..You may want to look up The Great Bear Rainforest/Sea.It is a pristine area in B.C. with clear ocean waters where salmon return to rivers where they were born to spawn in masses.
Bear, eagles and many kinds of wildlife live there. People in B.C. are opposed to a proposal for a pipeline going from tar sands in Alberta to our coast where freighters would take the oil byproduct abroad The Great Bear area and our coast would be in jepardy. We are blessed as the ocean going north up our coast is relatively clean at this point and we want to keep it that way.
